Amanda and Charles ...their adnventures in Peru
At the Catholic retreat center in Lima where we had our orientation for the first few days.
The next several shots are the 180 degree view from our roof.

The garden in front of house
A typical night at our house. I swear there has to be a carbon monoxide leak somewhere.
The next pictures are on the way to see the heiroglyphs.
Pictures from this crazy desert that´s all sand for 8 months and all green for the rest of the year. Ask Amanda about it if you´re interested. I´m pretty sure it´s the only place in the world that does this. Something about the Andes and their proximity to the coast trapping all the fog
This is a group shot of the Environment team
Amanda and Todd's class (note from Crystal...I find this even more amazing because Amanda is teaching completely in Spanish!!!)
Food court at the Universidad Agraria in Molina. Incredible homemade icecream.
Thank you Crystal for posting this. They will have a lifetime of memories after these 2 years.
What great pictures! I had no idea the mountains were sandy and desert like. That is really fascinating. When they are green, they are so pretty. It brings us back to reality when we see just how much of a natural setting everything is in. We are so urbanized with all of our concrete jungles instead of the green of nature. What an exciting adventure for Charles and Amanda. Thank you so much for sharing their journey with us!
Cat Lady
Nancy- Where they are staying right now now is very desert-like. Very dusty. Amanda said where ever you walk or sit you disturb the ground and a puff of dust goes up in the air. That's why she's coughing so much. She said there is a layer of dust on everything, every where you go...she said "mom you would hate it here...you would be dusting all day long and get no where!!!" Hahaha!!! She is kidding because I am always dusting my house. I hate dust.
