Monday Roll Call

Hiya IL,

I have a few minor things to do during the course of today. I have some blood work that Dave needs to take me to do and also stop in at my work afterwards to pick up some paperwork. Before I go out I need to make a FU surgeon appt for this week. After that it is to just sit and watch the boob tube and nap.

I slept in my own bed last night. I did set an alarm to take pain meds which was a smart thing because I could function when I got up. Doc was concerned about me not being able to do anything in the hospital until after I got my morning pain med because I would sleep through the whole night.

edited to add - I also need to be up and on my feet for at least 10 minutes out of each hour and to use my incentive spirometer several times during the waking hours.

Hi IL,

Chris,so glad you are home and feeling better. 

Yesterday my hubby wanted to do our annual dinner at Applebys for Vets Day. It is so cool to sit around and talk to the vets. We met Vietnam vets, WWII, and current enlisted men and women. It makes you really appreciate the sacrifices service people and their families make for all of us.

Did yard work and washed some windows. 

Today is back to my regular schedule of sending out resumes, working out and making tacos for dinner.    Stay warm!

It is great that you are home. How long before you can go back to work?

It will be a pretty day today, but cold. I don't have any plans today, just putter around. I am going to do some serous cooking, so we have stuff done for dinners. 

I may go shopping later, and try to finish the holiday shopping. I hate waiting until Dec. Plus, I won't have to worry about the weather.

Chris, it is great to see you up and around! Just be careful not to over do it.  You have an awful lot on your plate today for just getting out of the hospital after major surgery.  I am going to be your mom and warn you to stay in that bed!

Lisa, It sounds like you are off today.  Enjoy the day off. 

Sharon, Rick and I usually go to Applebys for the veterans day dinner but he knew I felt so terrible last night that he did not even mention it.  I did not want to go but would have for his sake. 

Today I am getting settled back into my cube.  We go new carpet here and they have been gradually installing it.  My turn was over the weekend.  Everything had to be removed from the walls, floors and surfaces.  Fun!  Not!  It looks nice and does not smell overwhelming which at first I was concerned about as it is the kind that is glued down. 

Not much else going on today.  Beemer did his hiding number this morning.  Fairly typical of him.  The other guys were in a playful mood.

It is going to be a quiet day here at work as most people are off.  Maybe I can get to go home for good behavior!

I really do not have that much. One trip out with two stops locally and making a phone call while sitting in my chair.

Glad you are home and comfortable, Chris!  Take it easy so that you recover quickly.

I had a nice weekend.  Pizza making with Riley on Friday night was fun.  She is really getting good at rolling dough and we had lots of crusts to cover.    This of course lead to lot of left-overs.

Saturday morning Liv and I took Riley to her swimming lesson then on to get the oil changed.  Upon inspection, my car needs brakes (which Todd can do) and a tie-rod replaced.  I made an appointment for the tie-rod on Thursday.  Later in the afternoon we went to the birthday party and had a very nice time.  Yesterday was for being kind of lazy.  He bottled his beer that has been brewing and I made sushi.  Besides that, he watched football and I read.

Randy mentioned David and sadly, he is seriously my problem child.  I dropped him off for a Halloween party last Saturday and have not seen him since.  This is the third (or forth) time he has been "MIA".  I DID have contact with him on Facebook but I don't think he liked my comments and I haven't heard from him since.  It breaks my heart, but I can only do so much to help him.  Todd and I have finally come to a sort of an agreement regarding what to do (if he comes home, that is).  He will have an ultimatum and if he does not meet it, we will have no choice but to ask him to live elsewhere.  I appreciate the prayers for his safety and return to the wonderful person we know him to be.

Liv is recovering well and I also appreciate all the prayers and support for her.

I will work today and then home.  I will probably start tidying up David's room as he left it quite messy.  I also have some book-work to finish for the Boy Scouts.

Crystal---did you ever think that "hot guy" was banging hoping someone  would come up and ask him to stop?  Maybe he was TRYING to get himself an invite since it probably sounded like you were having so much fun.

Everyone have a wonderful day I have to get back now.

Dawn-  He bangs around all of the time, not just Saturday night.  He's just a loud person.  But I never hear his TV or music.  Just him banging things or dropping things...not really sure.  But either way I don't care.  Even if he wasn't hot I wouldn't care....but since he is...I really, really don't care...hahahaha!!!

Hi all,

I had a appt with my NUT and I can't believe that we are now talking about trying to slow down my weight loss.  I reached 130lb weight loss today!  She talked about starting to add health fats into my diet like peanut butter, tub margarine, sunflower seeds and other healthy nuts.  Even though my second goal was 210 lbs I am not sure if I am ready for this!  I am not in a normal BMI and don't know if that is a goal that I should try for.  I think I would need to lose another 16 lbs to fal into a normal BMI.  Anyway, I guess this is a much better conversation over still trying to lose weight.

Dawn,  I know what you are going through!  We have had issues with my daughter also.  Now she is talking about moving back home and honestly it would not be a good thing.  My wife and I have much less stress with her being on her own and our relationship is better too,  My daughter is very confrontational with my wife and they argue all of the time.  If she comes back home I am going to have her sign a contract regarding rules.  I will also charge her some rent.  Right now when she comes home for a day opr two she sleeps all day, eats all the food in the house, and watches tv on the couch.  It's like she is living in a hotel!
