Friiday Roll Call

Hello everyone

It's Friday!!!  Yeah!!!

I talked to Amanda last night.  She thinks her cough is getting better...I'm not convinced.  They updated their blog with more news.  More news than I can put here.  She has told me so much about the life there that when we talk now it's just the usual jibber-jabber now.  I will come up with a new question every now and then.  But now we just shoot the breeze...like we always did before.  I call her once a week and we also talk on Facebook a couple times a week.  So we manage to stay in contact.  Still no pictures though...

I do have my work cut out for me today...I know Monday is usually my busy day but today will be my busy day.  I have my usual work and I have to finish this year end auditing project today.  On top of that my boss told me I have to step up my collections for yea end and try to collect on as much as possible...So I have to move it today to get all my work done.  Last quarter is always a busy time.

After work I will be meeting friend for dinner and I thought since I was going to be in Bolingbrook I would hit the Goodwill there.  I'm sure my friend wouldn't mind coming along.  She is one of the few friends I have that doesn't turn her nose up at thrift store clothes...even when I get compliments on my clothes and I say "I paid $2.99 for it at Goodwill".  I actually had one friend say she could never wear someone else's clothes.  And I said that's what washers are for..you wash them!!!  And she still didn't want to...oh well.  That is one reason why I announce my finds on Facebook...because I know some of my friends think it's gross and I like to rub their nose in it...hahaha!!!

Well what are your plans for today???

Have a nice day...it looks like we're back to regular fall weather.  See ya later...bye

Hello everyone!

Like Crystal said, it's back to fall weather. That;s good for my clothes situation because I have more fall and winter clothes in smaller sizes. I need to hit the closet downstairs and try on a few things. I think there's a pair of wool slacks down there and that sounds good today.

No plans for today but we go to downtown Chicago tomorrow for the Vogue knitting conference. More about that after we return.

Have a good day and put a coat on!

Connie

I love Palmer House.  I will be at Harold Washington from 9 to noon and likely also drop in to a shop a block from there on Wabash if they are open past noon.

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am so glad it is Friday!  I have been ready since Monday.  It has been a long week for me.  Tomorrow I get my hair done since I had to cancel the appointment last night.  My dentist apt took a lot longer yesterday than I expected so it was good that I did cancel my hair appointment.  IT dropped 20 degrees in one and a half hours while I was in the dentist office.  Wow!

I think we have come to the conclusion that Beemer is not going to be with us much longer.  He was AWOL again this morning.  He then hides until almost mid afternoon and does not get his morning shot until I come home after work.  This cant go on because it will not work to keep his diabetes in control.  I guess I have to look at it as his choice.  He may not realize the choice he is making but it is what it is.  I am really sad about it but I dont know what else to do.

Crystal, I am so happy that you are able to talk to Amanda on a regular basis.  That is such a relief.  It makes it easier to have her gone.

Kay, your conference on knitting sounds fascinating.

I hope everyone has a GREAT Friday!

Charles and Amanda are so lucky to get the area that they have been assigned to.  What more could you ask for than to be in the back yard of one of the 7 wonders of the world!

Good Evening

My day got off to a rocky start this morning. I got up late, after 7, went to get my makeup done, and meds taken, then, I couldn't find my glasses. I knew they were in the bathroom, since I looked at an article in there. It tooked 10 min. to find them. They were behind the facet. I have no reson for them to be there. Anyway, I did get out the door on time, and was able to meet my cowrkers tp go to the all day meeting in Rock Falls.

We are heading to the KofC for supper, then tomorrow a fish fry, and on Sunday up to Yorkville, to go to our daughters.

Have a great night,

Hugs,

LISA

got the last of my testing done today, a chest x-ray and it is nice that I can go to any ABMC urgent care or the main hospital and I opted for urgent care. In and out and the doc gets the results tomorrow.

Been out for dinner, watching the Wolves right now and am planning a grocery list for tomorrow morning. I do need to get a few things for the liquid diet like Special K protein drink and Atkins drink and chewable vitamins. Will be having my last "dinner (not huge but within guidelines)" tomorrow before the self imposed extra 2 day liquid diet + the 7 days of prescribed liquid diet. I want everything right so they do not have to convert to an open procedure. Need to make sure the liver is totally shrunk. I also warned Dave that I might be really crabby due to being hungry.

Nite, Nite! Going to read.

Hi All,

I cannot believe it's almost the weekend. It was just crazy busy this week.

Nancy, I am so sorry about Beemer. I know it's heart-breaking. They are like our kids.

We went to Al's Steak House in Joliet and I really enjoyed going out for dinner. But now I feel like I ate a cow instead of just a petite filet.

Crystal, I went past the Bolingbrook Good Will by the Costco and almost stopped today, but i was in a hurry to just get gas and get home after a long day of looking for either bicycle shorts or a new bathing suit. Going to the pool daily for the past 6 weeks has done a number on my 2 suits. I need a new one and there are none out there. I thought I'd get some bike pants instead to put over my old suit, but that wasn't in the starts either. A wasted day of going from store to store.....

Lisa, it sounds like you have a busy weekend, enjoy.....

Connie, enjoy the Vogue knitting conference. It sounds like your version of hog-heaven......

Randy, I love the Palmer House too........50 years ago my mom worked there as a server and she waited on many famous people. Her fave was Doris Day....

Chris, enjoy your last dinner.....

Blessings my dear ones,

Sharon

OMG!!!!!!!  My Grandfather (who took me in when I was 10) was the Matre'D at the Palmer House until Walt Williamson stole him away to work at the Key Club at the Wagon Wheel Resort........which is where I wound up living in the area with him. I am going to be 51 in a couple weeks.  How.........."transcendent" is that?  Ask her if she knew "Benny".

Tell someone that you love them!
