Hello everyone

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY!!!
NO UNBIRTHDAY I am going to celebrate every year you are here with us...we'll just say it's your 29th!!!

I had a good day yesterday.  My contacts went in well and I was able to see all day.  I did need to put eye drops in because my eyes were starting to get dry...but I had eye drops especially for contacts.  I was able to see all my work and I believe I was able to get my work done faster too.  I just didn't realize how bad my eyes were.  Amazing isn't it...how we adapt to bad sitiuation and not even realize it.

So far so good with the UTI.  I know this isn't very positive of me but I half expect it to come back.  It did after I took the Cipro.  I shouldn't think like this!!!

I'm back to working out too.  It feels so good afterwards...but during not so much.  For me it's mid over matter.  I just let my mind wander and try to take my mind off what I'm doing.  Not to mention I sleep so good when I exercise.  I fall asleep earlier and sleep more soundly.

Christine- I believe you said your contacts are bifocal contacts, mine are too.  I don't know if you have this happens to you.  Since the bottom is for close up reading.  I noticed when I am standing and I look down (through the reading part) to the floor for a long period of time I feel a bit dizzy.  I realized why it was happening and now avoid looking down for long periods of time.  does that happen to you?

Sharon- I have to hand it to you...I can't work out in the morning.  I just don't have the energy or the ambition in the morning.

Randy- this stuff you are studying...is it computer stuff.  Because I am really not understandig what you are talking about.

Well back to getting ready...have a good day...see ya...bye

No actually I said that I have bifocal readers from the doctor. They are for paperwork and the computer. They have not perfected the bifocal contacts for a person with an astigmatism.

Now that my reading portion has gotten real bad (I use 250 readers and my bifocals have that magnification also) if I am walking down a set of stairs I get dizzy. I always try to remember to look through the distance portion of the glasses. Your brain should adjust to the bifocal part eventually.

I am going to have to check into if they have made progress getting monovision contacts for a person with an astigmatism.

Hey Christine,

I had a bad asitmatism in one of my eyes and wore contacts (the hard ones that let air in your eye)  and also had bifocal contacts.  I had lasix surgery about 5 or 6 years ago..but anyway...I had to leave my gas permeable (that's what they are called!!) out, but they let me try soft ones.  With astigmatism, I could never wear soft because of the distortion.  Anyway....they did the thing where I only wore one, and left the (I think ) stronger eye alone.  I was amazed how super my vision was after a few days of my eyes adjusting to only one contact.  The soft were wonderful...and, in fact, if I hadn't decided on the lasix, there was a good enough correction I could have stayed with them!

Georgie, as of August 2011 my eye doc said that with my eyes I needed to go the route of Acuview for Astimatism and to wear the prescription bifocal readers for the 'puter and paperwork. I need distance also and my eyes are not bad enough to get Lasix. I am in a Toric lense.

Yeah, it is sometimes frustrating to be reaching for the readers but I love the freedom of distance free vision. I wear soft lenses made by Acuview for Astigmatism. I am not sure when they came out with the soft Torics for Astigmatism.

I did put in an email to Acuview to see if they have come out with a monovision lense for both astigmatism and close up.

Glad you could wear the soft. I tried the toric when they first came out, but again the astigmatsm was too strong and could not be corrected well enough. I am sure now it would be a much better fix and more choices. However, I love, love, love my vision with lasix, and no more astigmatism because they corrected it with the surgery! I highly recommend it. I do wear readers for close stuff but a minor nusance for the wonderful distance vision i now have.

Yes - Crystal - Python is a computer language and I am having a lot of fun learning it.  The people who wrote the language have a sense of fun about them as they named their language for Monty Python as they were fans of the Flying Circus.  The new platform I installed yesterday is IDLE for Eric Idle.

Being disabled for so long and with my sleep problems I missed retraining that normally takes place in my field and a class out of my pocket would be at least $7500 so this is great.  I cannot wait until I get fluent enough that I see a problem and just write an app to solve it.

So you have been forgiven?

 Happy Birthday Beautiful Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Crystal and all,

Happy Wednesday.

I had a great day yesterday but it was so busy. I wound up staying for 2 water aerobics classes and swam in between classes. I felt great afterwards. Later I went to work out with my new trainer and she made me do floor Jack LaLane type calisthetics. That beat my butt. I'm so used to aerobics and weights that I forgot how hard it is to do pushups, leg lifts, and a bunch of other contortionist movements. Just getting on the floor was difficult. I have not sweat like that in a long time. Today I am a bit sore, but it's the good kind.

Tonight is an easy peasy Zumba class in the water.

I am in the process of getting rid of all my teflon cookware and replacing it with stainless steel. I am buying individual pieces since I rarely use some of the pieces in a set. I found a $70.00 3 quart sauce pan at K-mart yesterday on sale for $8.00. I was so happy. I am trying to buy everything on sale and so far have been very lucky.

Crystal you sound great, I have never worked out in the evening, until recently, and I find I love it as well. I sleep like a rock.

Have a great day OH'ers.

Sharon

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I am officially a year older.  So I survived another year.  Alive and kicking!  Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Today I have an appointment with my doctor after work.  I hope to get more answers.  Tomorrow I go back to the pain clinic.

I used to wear contacts back in the old days when they were the hard contacts.  I eventually had to give them up as they dried out my eyes too much.  I have never tried the soft ones.  I haven't figured out the bifocal ones.  How do you figure out how to put them in so that the bifocal part is on the bottom?

I hope everyone has a great day!
