Tuesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Well I'm going to my doctor today...I'm a hot mess.  I have pink eye and in spite of being on antibiotics my UTI has worsened a lot.  I have not been able to sleep very well today.  It has been very painful tonight and getting up to pee every 20 minutes!!!  I just can't sleep.  So I am going in for stronger antibiotics and some eyedrops.  Boy I tell you...when it rains it pours!!! 

I didn't workout yesterday...my UTI was bothering me too much.  I really hate taking time off for doctor appointments.  Hopefully I will be back to normal soon.

Nancy-  I'm glad you don't have a clot.  Hope you feel better.

Sharon- Can you report these people to the police or the BBB?

Just paying some bills and then maybe listening to some lectures to ready for a final.

Crystal I hope you get some relief today. What a mess!

We went to see Dr. Garren yesterday. He is really funny, especially for a surgeon! I have now lost 100 lbs officially (which means at the doc's office, not my home scale)! I'm able to wear a jacket I bought in '92 to wear in Alaska. But I won't need it in Tahiti! Next month I will have another CAT scan so he can see the extent of these fistulas that give me so much grief. I hate these tests but I do want to know how big they are. The middle one started at 8 cm deep. When he can see the depth of the fistulas then we can talk about how much longer this will go on. Dawn gave us some mini tubes of saline for the plane trip since I will have to change my bandages in the airport and maybe even on the plane. Generally the saline comes in containers bigger than 3 oz. Again, that's why I love the people in Madison!

Today we start packing. It always makes the house a mess but if I can see all the clothes at once I take less. We've been told that the plane to Bora Bora has a limit of 44lbs for the luggage but we can check a suitcase at the Hilton in Tahiti to pick up on the way back if necessary. I just plan to take fewer clothes.

We did report the predatory actions of the plumber......I guess we will see if anything comes of it.

Well, I am up 5 lbs and I am freaked out. I have never gained 5 lbs since the surgery last April. I have been swimming everyday and eating the same. I am hoping it is some weird fluke. Maybe a hormonal thing??? 

I joined the Tinley Park Fitness yesterday because they have a $99 dollar special that allows me to use their pool anytime and a robus****er aerobics program which is what I was looking for. The best part is I have not seen one person under 50 there. I love to be around oldies like me

I had a great Zumba aquatics class last night with about 30 of the most awesome women. 

Must say I LOVE this weather. The chill in the air is so lovely.

It turned cool overnight!  I am like what happened. 

The week is moving along.  I have a doctor appointment this afternoon!  Surprise!  I got in right away.

Crystal, I feel better that you are going to a doctor.  I cannot believe the trouble you have had between bladder infections and pink eye.  I hope it gets cleared up once and for all.

Connie, your trip sounds wonderful!  I am jealous.  I would love to travel the way you and kay do.  Are you sure you dont want a stow a way?

Sharon, your new gym sounds great!  I too like the places with the oldies in them. 

Randy, I cant believe you are at final time already.

Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

Sorry I've been so MIA......the work computer sometimes does not want to cooperate and by the time I get home......I get busy doing other stuff.  I DO read every day though!

Crystal, glad you can get to the doc.  I also developed a UTI.  HATE them!  The last one I had turned nasty very quickly so I took yesterday off to see the doc and just rest.  Also glad to hear that Amanda and Charles landed safely to begin their adventure.

Connie---congrats on the 100 lbs.  Hard won though.  Hopefully your medical issues are behind you.  I agree, Madison is the BEST!

Nancy--hope the lungs feel better soon.  I don't have to use my inhaler this week as the boss is fishing!

Went to Cheese Days in Monroe on Saturday and found a couple cute rings made with wire and beads that I may try to make for neighbor gifts.  It DOES seem that Liv will be having a bigger ear surgery in early November.  The right ear is just not getting any better with the negative pressure causing retraction.  THAT was the problem when the peds thought she had fluid.  The ENT has decided that it is time to fix it as it is not getting better on its own.  She will have a simple mastoidectomy and a tympanectomy.  Basically they will clear out the mastoid bone and rebuild her eardrum.  Of course, we will go to Madison for this.
