Wednesday Roll Call

Going to the Orthopedic doctor with Cheryl this morning.  Hang out in the loop for a bit perhaps and then back out to work on a paper I submitted for extra credit yesterday.  I got frustrated yesterday and wound it up prematurely.  That would be good if I get tied up today with something else but being as this is my warm up for a programming class I best use this extra credit assignment as a discipline learning exercise for doing all that I can do by a due date.

What is the rest of Illinois up to?

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

HI Randy and Lisa And All,

Happy Hump Day.

More fall cleaning today. Feeling energized because the praise and worship last night was exactly what I needed.

Tonight I start my Zumba water-aerobics and i am pretty psyched about that. I've never worked out in the evening, we will see how that goes

Enjoy your day Illinoisans~!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am sorry I missed yesterday but by the time I got home yesterday, I was in no mood to talk to anyone.  Everyone at work was horrible.  All the customers were gnarly.  I dont know what the problem was.  Everyone was having that experience so I wasn't alone.  But I was ready to leave permanently by noon.  I am surprised I have any hair left.

I hope today is better.  But my first call wasnt but I will not frame it by one call alone.  I hope everyone has a great day!

Crystal, please wish Charles and Amanda a wonderful adventure.  They will have the time of their lives.  It will be life changing for both of them.  I imagine there will be good and bad but what an experience.  I look forward to hearing about their adventures.

Dawn, I hope you found birthday ideas.  I agree with Lisa, money is what teens want.

Connie, I love your life.  You do some fascinating things.  Spinning yarn?  That is amazing!

Lisa, I cannot belive how bad that fire on Dee Bennett Road was!  Unbelievable.

Kevin,  Congratulations on your 100 lb weight loss!  That is amazing!

Randy,  I admire your discipline for this computer program class.

Sharon, did you get your kitty a thunder shirt?  How is it working?

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I havent been out to get that shirt yet, but the minute i do, I'll let you know how Schnorrie does. Schnorr is german for "purr". because he is a champion purrer, my mom named him that.

Have a great day my favorite Cat Lady,

Sharon

Hello everyone

Well this is my last day with Amanda.  They leave at about 3am.  So I will soak all the time I can today.

I do have a doctor appointment today at 11:30.  Then we will go and hang out with family and have dinner.  That's about it.

Yesterday was a nice day.  We had a wonderful hike.  The forest preserve was beautiful and it's only a couple of miles away from me.  We shopped for Amanda's stuff and she got everything she needed.  We had a yummy deep dish pizza (which is right across the street from me).  We watched a movie  It was a good day.  My house is still a mess but I have said one word or complained.

Well I am off to spend my last day with my Amanda...have a good day all.  Bye

It has been an eventful summer for us with today being sort of the end/culmination of things - well maybe not totally the end of things. I had an appt with my gastric doc office today and saw Dr. Mikhail (partner of Dr Rosen). This was a F/U to my 2nd bowel obstruction and we discussed a whole bunch of things with the one most important thing is that the adhesion's need to be fixed now rather than later when it might be an emergency thing. @ first we set the date @ Sept 27th and then medical history came into play. I have had prior DVTs and he wants me to go for a hypercoagulable work-up (blood work) and if that indicates a hereditary blood issue then I might need to see a hemotologist and have a filter put in. He looked at my CT and could not find a filter that I know was put in (comfirmed by my sister and Dave) back in '91 during another medical issue. I do not want to seek out my retired doc via his replacement who I highly dislike to find out some answers. In my opinion I will go through the blood work-up and further if necessary first.

He, Dr Jeff and my primary have confirmed that there have been 2 bowel obstructions and they need to be fixed. I am so ticked off right now that I have been blown off by some of my docs from a prior surgical practice. I was told after each obstruction - Oh there isn't any obstruction now (@ a F/U appt) and if you have any further problems call us. WHAT! FIX IT I say! As my primary feels it is better to go in electively and fix it than in an emergency and the intestine has the possibility to burst.  My aunt died from peritinitis due to a bowel issue and it was a painful death.

So, my surgery is set for November 7th and we have faith that it will be.

Chris

I am so sorry to hear about you still fighting these issues.  But I agree that it is better to fix it ahead than wait for an emergency.  I would much rather "get it over with"

I sometimes wonder if those filters eventually disappear or get so clogged that they are no longer visable.  I have had additional blood clots in the lungs since I have had my filter installed.  I am one of the lucky once that have an inherited clotting factor.  So much fun.

Good luck to you.  Prayers for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Good luck Christine!  I can't imagine going through an obstruction.

I was very uncomfortable last week with constipation and didn't go for 8 days.  The doc told me I had to get it out or it would be come impacted.. I think it alrady was!

Anyway,  without going into detals I was engaged with enemas for about 2 hours.

They told me it was probably due to dehydration.  So,  I am drinking like crazy now!.

Thank you.

While constipation is serious in itself it is a little further "south" than a bowel obstruction. Both of mine were in the small intestine which is a little further "north" of where constipation occurs. TEEHEE.

You might want to talk again with your doctor and see if a regiment of Metimucal would be helpful. This of course is in addition to drinking a lot of fluids. Before you say oh yuck I do not want to drink that stuff. They do have capsules that you can take instead. I got mine at Costco and they are far cheaper there for the Kirkland brand and have the same ingredients. I think the double containers were like getting more (amount of capsules) than 1/2 more than the name brand. For me the capsules are helping me stay out of the hospital and stay regular. 'nuff said.

Sorry, my grammer is a little crappy at 5 in the morning.
