Saturday Roll Call
Congrats Kevin on a good check up. Some flax milk seems to help me when I feel like I do not have room for veggies. Keep hydrated though.
Lisa glad you are getting the information you need.
Nancy - I am distracted
Chris and others who are MIA I miss you.
Trying to decide if I will get out early to the Independance Farmers Market then go to church or just have a lazy Sunday Morning at the market. Our Alderman and bluegrass music plus locovore veggies may not be a worship experiance but that will depend on the bluegrass and if I can serve man and God by connecting with the neighborhood.
What is the rest of Illinois up to today?
Well yesterday at work was terrible. A wonderful lady was fired. I was so upset I was fighting back tears...probably because I was in her shoes not so long ago and out of work. I know how she felt. The sad thing is she is an older woman and she just got over a battle with cancer. She needs her insurance and I don't know how welcoming employers will be to hiring an older woman. The rest of the day we all walked around like zombies...it was very quiet and subdued for a Friday.
Onto nicer subjects...I get to see my Amanda this weekend!!! It will be nice to have her around this week. I am still on the hunt for some of her favorite foods...none of the grocery stores around here have them. If I have to I will drive into Naperville and go pick some groceries.
Well I am going to eat my breakfast now...enjoy your Saturday. See you all later...bye
Just got back from the farmer's market in New Lenox. There's a guy there that has the most delicious cheeses. Bought some different varieties and will serve them later this afternoon on the deck. We are having a few friends over to play canasta.
I have a giant harvest of tomatoes and will can some this morning. I just made a vat of salsa and will can some of that as well.
Love the weekends to hang out with the hubster.
Have a great day smoking Randy. Crystal enjoy your daughter. Happy day all,
Sharon
Good morning!
Sharon, the salsa sounds wonderful!. I read some where about layering tomatoes, basil and a bit of olive oil and canning them just like that. I'd try it but I don't have the canning equipment like I did when I was younger and did that all the time. Besides with the amount I eat one can would last weeks! But it sounded delicious!
Today is Kay's 50th high school reunion (and mine too, but I'm not going). She is going to hers and she planted a tree yesterday at Winnebago High School as a gift from her class. My reunion is in St. Louis and I have not gone because I really don't remember anyone from high school. I kept up with college friends somewhat but not hs. What neither of us can believe is that we are that old! I think I'm 40 inside! LOL
I'm going to knit with friends today and may go out to dinner. Haven't really decided.
Have a good day!

I am so glad the sun is out. We may go to a Renaissance Faire being held in Marseilles today. They say it is being patterened after The Bristol Faire, we will see.
This morning I want to finish picking up the house, pay bills, try to get started on my bedroom closet, and whatever else comes up.
Randy, happy smoking.
Sharon, Ihaven't played Canasta in years. I was taught to play by my grandmother, when I was 5.
Crystal, can't you find what you want at Jewel?
Connie, I try to get home for my HS reunions. But 2 of my HS/ GS friend still live in the area, so it is always a partytime whenever we get back.
Life is Good, so are weekends.
Hugs
LISA
I do miss the grocery stores in Urbana.
It is a beautiful day today! I have my windows open and am enjoying the fresh air and so are the cats!
I was MIA yesterday because I had the headache from hell. I had my spinal injection on Thursday and ended up with a spinal headache. It is caused by spinal fluid leaking out. I have never had such a headache. It is still somewhat there today but not nearly as bad. The cure is rest and caffeine. I have had so much caffeine I am bouncing off the walls! I also have a prescription med that does diddly squat but I am taking it in case it really is helping. The only other thing they can do is draw blood out of my arm and inject it back into the spinal cord. I think not. The goofy thing is this usually only happens to those under 30. Should I feel special?
Yesterday I ran to Pet Smart to get some supplies and Rick started looking at the cats for adoption. He called me over to look. Big mistake. I now have ANOTHER cat. He is a grey tiger stripe. Very long legs. Just a kitten. A new playmate for Gizmo. He does not have a name yet. He is still settling in and getting to know everyone and everything.
Randy, It is a beautiful day to do your smoking!
Crystal, I think I have PTSD over being let go from my first job. I cannot stand to see anyone fired. Anytime it happens, I experience all the feelings I had from being downsized.
Sharon, I love cheese. What varieties did you get?
Connie, I too am in denial over my age. I feel like I am about 40 as well. I refuse to be old!
Lisa, the Renaissance Fair sounds great! Enjoy!
Kevin, glad your check up went well. I take stool softeners not laxitives to help keep things moving. Non habit forming and safe to use.
Everyone have a great day!
