Friday Roll Call

Good Morning.  No more knock off.  The Magic Bullit cost me $50 and I figure at $10 a year I got my moneys worth out of the knock off.  Still need to get into my class.  Just not feeling studious this week.

What is everyone else up to?

When it rains it pours for me.  I think I have pink eye.  I know when you start antibiotics it's possible to get secondary infections and I think that I have one.  My eyes seemed very red yesterday before I went to bed but I thought it was because they were strained...well now they are still pretty red.  As far as the UTI goes I think that is coming along.  I think it's getting better.  I'm just not sure what I'm going to do with the pink eye...I have NO damn insurance...and I'm so close!!!!  Only one more week!!!  Do you think I can wait a week???

Yesterday I celebrated my niece's birthday.  I saw Timothy Green...it was such a cute movie.  And I had popcorn!!!  

On good news for a change I have another book obsession.  I have discovered Rick Riordan and his books.  I am reading The Lightning Thief...I love it!!!  It's a lot like Harry Potter.  I went out and bought a bunch of his books yesterday (of course that was before knew I should save my money for pink eye medicine)

We went out to dinner last night and brought half home, but that's OK. I might go out to the Bookworm today to knit if I get it together. I got my iron yesterday and did some other errands.

Happy Friday!

My hubby just left for work and I am going to clean up a little then run some errands. We are going to Chapins Restaurant in Morris tonight with a large group of friends to see Nova Soul, a band we follow in the SW burbs. It should be fun.

Chrystal, I don't know if you can wait a week with pink eye. I have heard that folks can get ill after a big move due to the stress. It sounds like that is what happened to you. You may want to start taking some probiotics. Also if you wear contacts, you should remove them asap. Saline eye drops can be used to soothe the discomfort, as will a warm cloth held over the eyelid. In the case of allergic conjunctivitis it is important to find and remove or distance yourself from the source of the allergy, and you should try not to touch or rub the eyes. Could you be allergic to something in your new environment? New carpeting/drapes/blinds? A cold compress will ease the itchiness and provide some relief. It is also a good idea to use an eye wash (using purified water) regularly through-out the day to speed up recovery. However, make sure that it is well sterilized before hand and if both eyes are infected, a separate eye washer should be used for each eye, or it should be re-sterilized between each use. Also do not wear mascara or any eye make-up. If you have dump it. It's probably infected as well.  

I try not to use non-holistic methods for healing and have used this method when I have suffered from allergic conjuctivitis. Hope you feel better.

Randy, there must be something in the air, because i too cannot concentrate on what I should be doing. I certainly do a lot of what I should not be doing, like reading my fiction or playing out in the yard. Maybe it's the time of year....

Connie, I have an iron somewhere, but i cannot recall the last time I used it. Funny when I was a single mom and raising my daughter, years ago, I had to drag that darn ironing board out of the closet every morning t iron something.

We have no plans for the weekend. I will start getting prepared to go back to work next week. We are starting to get tomatoes again. For a couple of weeks we didn't get any.

Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!

I am working then heading for the big camping extraveganza with all my kids and Riley.  I am hoping for a nice time.  The family was pretty grouchy yesterday and made me think it might be a mistake.  It looks like it is to be cooler than first forcast, so that is good.  I'm sure I packed way too much food but I want to be prepared.

Not too much else going on.  Liv started school and has to cheer for the first game tonight.  She was pretty upset to find that we were NOT going to leave her home alone all weekend with a car to do whatever she wanted!  Such BAD parents!  We are making her camp with us while she is not working tomorrow!

David is still being a slug and I just don't know WHAT to do about it.  I suppose at some point we will have to take a stand.  Todd is not helping with that and I WILL NOT be the lone gunman (so to speak).  David claims that he is applying for jobs daily online (which is where most applications are these days).

I am getting along better at work, thanks in part to some new medication.  I am sending resumes and want to take a couple of classes to tweak my skills.

Well...back to work and wish me luck in the woods!
