Monday Roll Call
I have no plans today except...work and I am going to go work out today after work. I'm not too excited about that right now but maybe I will get more jazzed as the day goes on.
I did absolutely nothing yesterday except laundry. I was being very lazy.
Well more details about Amanda's Peace Corp quest. She and Charles leave on September 13th. They will be going to Washington DC. There they will meet up with other Peace Corp people and they have an all day orientation. Then the next day they get will fly out to Peru. There they will be getting an intensive 3 month training. The training includes job train but also included training on culture, Spanish, and safety. Then they go and meet their host family (it's much like an exchange student set up). They will stay and live just like the locals. Amanda's job there...I think has something to do with water conservation and cleaning water. Charles will be doing community outreach. That's about all for now.
Well I better go get finished getting ready...Hope you all have a great day...bye
It is a beautiful day out there! I could not believe how nice it was as I was driving to work. Enjoy it while you can.
Crystal, that is so exciting about Charles and Amanda! I cant believe that their time is almost here. This has been a dream for them and now it is soon to become a reality! That is so cool!
Today it is work and home for me. In fact the only think I have scheduled this week is another attempt at a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I hope I get in this time. Other than that, it is pretty routine.
Everyone have a great day!

I am at work, but the server is still down so....ho hum.....
I am so excited for Amanda and Charles. That is SO cool. One of my "friends" from another board and her husband were in Africa for the Peace Corps and it looked like quite the adventure.
We had a great time at the music festival/party on Saturday and layed kind of low yesterday, just grilling for the week.
Sharon: I will check out my recipes and post some for fish. Any special KIND of fish?
Connie: I am SO happy to see you almost back to normal. Maybe I will run in to you at the Bookworm one of these days!
Nancy: I hope you get to the doc. Is it still the sinus infection? Or is it an ear infaction? Todd has an outer ear infection and it must be VERY bothersome......he actually went to convenient care!
I'd better get back to some resemblance of work......
Everyone have a wonderful day!
Happy Monday.
It sounds like everyone is off to a great start of the week. The weather has been so gorgeous. I sat in the sun yesterday on our deck and the sun was so warm and delicious. It was so nice to suck up the Vitamin D and read the little Sunday paper. The paper has really gotten tiny recently. I guess people are not reading it like they used to.
This IL forum is livelier than most state forums. I had a chance to peek at others and communications are rare. It is so lovely that people visit here regularly.
I am enjoying getting to know you all.
I'm off toTrader Joes to get a fresh turkey breast for dinner.
Enjoy the day!
Sharon
I am down to my last 8 days of vacation. I really didn't get a couple of things done that I still need to do, but I don't think they will get done. :(
We enjoyed Starved Rock yesterday for lunch. It was so nice out on the veranda. Of course, it is always great when you are with family.
We did the wellness check this morning. Blood pressure was a bit high, but it flucuates.
I think we all deserve do nothing days when we can get them.
Sharon, I do agree with you about other boards. Ous work becauce we all consider each other friends, and we are truely interested in each other.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
LISA
I am working from home today. Not too much goig on. Fish tank maintennce todat.
Lisa, I was in Streator on Saturday. I visited a friend who is working on restoring two 69 camaro's. We went to Red Lobser in Peru for dinner. My first time eating out. I had chicken tortilla soup (minus chips) and I appitizer crab cake. I felt a little uncomfortable half way through the crab cake. I was picking off the top layer to just get to the moist stuff.
Have a great day!

Hi friends!
Dawn, you are so good to put so many recipes up! Do you know the website that Eggface has? She does a lot of bariatric recipes. I found her when I had band surgery. I think it's called "the world according to eggface". Kay says if you google eggface it comes up. She checks those recipes all the time.
I am getting back to normal except for steps and stamina but I can feel myself getting stronger. Who knew it would take a year! I still have the fistulas in the incision and they continue to drain which drives me nuts. Dr. Garren says they will close on their own. I certainly hope so!
Today I don't have anything planned. I want to make a salad dressing my mother used to make but it calls for pasturized eggs. Logli will have them on Wednesday so I guess it will wait till then.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the beautiful weather!
Connie
