Sunday Roll Call
Well today is my laundry day. Also I am going to Jewel and then to Whole foods. I do most of my grocery shopping at whole foods since I lost all of my weight. I really enjoy eating healthy. I am
going out later with a new girl friend I am looking forward.
I hope everyone has a good day.

I finished my bookcases yesterday. I was so tired yesterday I went to bed before 9pm. The only thing I have left to do is put together a TV stand for the 2nd TV and put the DVD's away. I also have laundry to do...but that is an easy task in comparison to what I had to these past two weekends. I think next weekend I will relax and and relax.
I put my books away on my bookcases and I am happy to report that I have plenty of room for MORE books!!!! Yeah!!! I now have over 200 books on my Kindle...I wonder when it will be filled up and I won't be able to put anymore on the Kindle???
Well off to enjoy my Sunday...see you all later...Bye
I am a heathen today because I didn't make it to church. Just too lazy to get going.
Watched the Sox and Bears last night. When I used to work, I never sat down to watch a game, but now with more time I am learning to enjoy baseball again and learn football. My husband loves sports and it's a way to enjoy hanging out together.
I am trying to get in more fish for the protein and lower calories. Does anyone have a quick delish tried and true recipe for fish? If so please share.
Have a lovely day today everybody!
Best,
Sharon
Good morning!
I just finished reading the paper and looking at the back to school ads. One of the things about being retired is that you don't need much. I saw all kinds of bargains for things I'll never use again. It's the same with shopping for clothes. I saw a darling jacket and then thought--where are you going to wear it? So I didn't buy it because I couldn't think of a place to wear it. I guess that saves money (if I didn't spend the money on yarn and books that is).
Seems like a good day to sit on the patio. I haven't done that yet because of the steps but since I have to go down them to block a shawl it would make sense to go outside afterwards.
Have a lovely day.

As far as the junk food you will just need to start some new lifestyle changes and start to bring your own healthy snacks. Start thinking of some healthy alternatives that you really love and buy and make them to take to work. Put your thinking cap on and you will come up with things and not feel deprived of a snack or feel the junk food table is crowding in on you. Do not use that as a reason to cave into it and not start a new healthy program for yourself.
Here are some of the things I take to eat for snacks at work. I love cottage cheese (CC). I buy the 2% fat CC and I put dill weed in it before taking it to work. By putting the dill in at home it has a chance to flavor the CC before I eat it at about 9am. I eat Bfast at about 515am so by 9 I am hungry again (YES - you will feel hunger again PO (about @18 months out) but not the gnawing hunger you had pre op). When I am at work I cut up some cherry tomatoes and a small amount of Jalapeno from my garden and add it to the CC. Or I also will bring some sort of Greek yogurt to work with me or there is a protein pudding that you can get from GNC that is made by MHP. It comes in chocolate or vanilla. Try some flavored hummus and veggies. You can also make a black bean spread with mashed canned black beans, low fat sour cream and salsa. You have to come up with the proportions for yourself. I as a PO use about 2 TBLS of each.. You can dip Scoops into it or spread on a whole grain cracker. String cheese is great to take with to work. You can buy prepackaged servings at the grocery stores, Sam's or Costco. Costco has some individually packaged Cheddar cheese. Bring some peanut butter and spread it on apple wedges Speaking of fruit and veggies - you can find great produce at farmer's markets right now.. I will also make a Bfast sammie to take with me consisting of a toasted English muffin, scrambled egg/cheese and then reheat it at work. Try an individual oatmeal package with some dried fruit in it. Costco has some great packages of dried berries. . . . It is rare for me to not have some sort of snack that I have bought or made to take to work. I learned this a long time ago before I had my surgery with my doctor's program.
Take one day at a time and just walk right by the snacks knowing that your have some thing that is healthier for you. Keep your eye on the prize or the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel equaling = surgery.
