Thursday Roll Call
Wow. Guess I am the early bird today. Not much on the schedule today. Work and then I'll clean the church...my part time job. Need to go to Walmart, so may do that after.
Nancy, hope your injection went ok.
Crystal. You are a moving wizard. So glad you are so close to work.
Randy I love your Chicago travel reports. The pic of your apt blg is very nice. I have always lived in Manteno...not a
Big city girl, I guess.
Lisa, your back to work is a lot like back to school.
Lucy, good luck with all your knitting projects.
Dawn, I do believe that legally they should not be smoking in your office, and not good it is affecting your health. I do believe you might tell your boss it is affecting your breathing, print the reg out about no smoking and show him. Then if he/they don't stop report them.
Kevin, you made a good decision when you dropped your chicken!
Well, everyone have a super day!
Georgie
I am also up early. If I am in bed early (before 12), I wake up early and can't get back to sleep. I think it has something to do with age.
Georgie, you are always on the go too.
Dawn, I agree with Georgie. Check out the laws about smoking in a business.
Morgan and I had a full day of shopping, yesterday. I forget how tiring it is to shop with a teenager.
Today, we are staying home and then going to a play this evening. Fiddler on the Roof Jr. It is the childrens production at our local playhouse.
I hope everyone has a great and productive day.
Hugs,
LISA
I picked up my second bookshelf yesterday...no problems there. Today I will pick up the third...if it's not storming out. After the third one I will start putting them together and putting books back up on the shelf ( I have 9 boxes of books!!!). This will be quite a project. Probably will be a Saturday project.
I am drawn to living in a small town but at the same time there is something to be said about living in the city. I considered it and if I had gotten a job there instead of Joliet I would be living in Chicago right now...and I think I would have been happy there. But I would also be happy in a small town...go figure???
Dawn- You have such a dysfunctional work environment. You really need to step up your job hunt. You will be so much happier some where else. From what I remember your boss thinks he's above the law because it's his business.
Well I better finish getting ready. Have a good day all...bye
It is Friday for me and more rain is on the way!
My injection went fine yesterday. It was a lot less painful than the last one as it was higher up on the spine. So far it is working. The last one only lasted until the numbing agent wore off. My fingers are crossed for this time.
Georgie, it is great to "see" you again. You are busy as always. I happen to like the Mid sized cities for living. I have lived in the burbs and large and small towns but prefer the middle sized ones.
Lisa, I love Fiddler on the Roof. I cant quite picture a junior version but it should be cute. I hope you and Morgan enjoy it. Kids have so much energy! I cant imagine trying to keep up with one!
Crystal, you just plain amaze me. You will have your books in your book cases by Sat afternoon. Nothing stops you!
Dawn, I agree with everyone else. It is against the law. You can report the business to the Public Health Dept annomously. I know you are in an uncomfortable position since it is "family" but you still have rights.
Kevin, I have done the trick of dropping my food on the cafeteria floor. Ewe! No you do NOT want to eat it then. Wise decision to go for the meat on the buffet.
Everyone have a great day!

I wi**** was Friday for me too! My workplace has changes so much over the past year. Collectively we doo so may good things for the company and it seems that one issue will erase all of the good we have done in managements perception.
I have a buddy of mine asking when we can go out to lunch again together. He always want to go to Bob Chin's seafood resteraunt. Since I am still on soft foods I am hesitant to go. Have you been there? Any food suggestions?
Have a great day!
Kevin
I have not been to Bob Chins but you can look at their menu before you go online.
One word of caution, I personally cannot eat rice yet. Since my pouch is so small and rice can expand in one's tummy, it makes it very uncomfortable to eat for me.
I think any soft fish is good for our pouches. Shrimp is also a good choice. For me the hardest part about eating out is the huge amounts of food offered before the entree and not being able to drink after I eat. For some reason not drinking after I eat at home is not an issue. It must be a mental thing for me.
Enjoy yourself!
Best,
Sharon
P haven't been there either, but I did look at the menu. You could go and order off the appetizer menu. It is extensive, and you can always order soup.
You may even be able to ask if you can get just part of an entre/ Sometimes when you ask, they will charge you just a=la=carte prices.

It is dark by me (Lockport) and the rain has begun.
Later today I am going to get my hair cut. Then to a movie with my hairdresser. He always schedules me as his last appointment and we go to dinner and a movie afterwards. He has become such a great friend.
I am going to see a Judge Mathis tomorrow taping. I am taking my mother-in-law. it should be so fun. I TIVO his show everyday and my hubby and I watch him.
Smoking in the workplace is definitely illegal in IL. When I worked for Univ of Chicago, we had a director that stood ijn his office by his open window and smoked with his door closed. Since he was the director, nobody complained to him, but everyone sure was not happy about it. One day the police came and wrote him a ticket. I guess someone must have called them because they said they had gotten a "tip" that it was happening. Needless to say, he stopped smoking in his office.
I have a new favorite snack, protein poppers. I spray a plasti**** cream tray with cooking spray, add egg whites to each cube, I shake red pepper over the egg whites and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes. I then let them cool and put them in a container and eat them as snacks. Delish and no carbs! You can omit the red pepper and add garlic salt, or chives, or eat just plain.
Have a great day my dears!
Sharon
Hi folks!
I'm enjoying this rainy day. I love the sound of the rain on the porch roof so I sit out there and knit or read.
I also have not had much rice. I kind of miss the taste but I might have one bite if it's on the plate. Otherwise it's not much to give up. I had tuna tartar at Alchemy the other night. It was really good but too big a serving. I try to order only appetizers or small plates and even then I usually have stuff to take home for lunch.
I think it was earlier today that people were talking about cities. I am fifth generation city which is really unusual. My great great plus grandparents settled in St. Louis in 1840 and just about all the family still lives there in St. Louis. I did spend ten years in Carbondale which felt more like a city because of the University. I lived two years in Chester which I didn't like at all. Rockford is a good sized city for me and I do live near downtown. It's big enough to have mostly what I need and small enough to get around easily with not too much traffic. I always think it's interesting to hear why people live where they live. I guess I'm just fascinated by people!
