Wednesday Roll Call

 New PCP says echo shows heart pumping strong and just a little enlarged from hypertension.  I had hoped by now I would not need those meds.  Perhaps time to get some regular strenuous exercise.

Rode the brown line north yesterday for the first time.  Going to the Palmer House Starbucks this morning to meet a professor.

I only have one plan for today. I am heading to Bloomington, to pick up Morgan for a couple of days. We will be doing some school shopping before we come back. 

I think I am 90% done with a ragged quilt I started in June. I will post a picture when it is done. The instructions said it could be compleated in a weekend. maybe by some, but it took me longer then that.

It is Wednesday, 1/2 way throug the week. The weekend will be upon us shortly. Our highschool starts in the next couple of days, the grade later next week. I go back to work in 15 days. My summer is coming to a fast end.. I wonder, how can I be so busy during the summer, then go back to work and I still get everything done?

Hello everyone

Yesterday I picked up the first of 3 or 4 bookcases(I haven't decided how many to get yet).  I am picking them up one at a time.  They are 75lbs each and I can only fit one in my car at a time.  I was at the store and the box said 75lbs...and I thought "OMG I will never get that into my apartment"  That's wayyyy tooo heavy.  Well I shouldn't under-estimate myself...because I had no problems.  I mean it was heavy but by no means was it too heavy.  So I will pick up the next one today.  This weekend I will spend the day putting these things together and get my books out of boxes and onto my shelves. 

Other than that I am enjoying my new apartment.  I find funny that it has been the hottest Summer in history.  I have been looking forward to spending a lazy afternoon at my pool reading all Summer.  But the first weekend here and it's only going to be a high of 72!!!  What the heck!!!

I am also happy because I have full use of all my clothes now.  I only packed some of my clothes when I moved here.  So for the past 2 1/2 months I had a limited wardrobe.  Now that I have all my clothes again I feel like I have all new clothes!!!  I am sure everyone I work with will think that too.

Well I have to finish getting ready for work.  Have a great hump day!!!! Bye!!!

 When I consider that I used to carry almost 300 more pounds everywhere I went I am amazed.  Granted I did not carry that weight very far.

First of all, I want to apologize to Sharon for not noting her yesterday in my post.  IT is a dangerous thing to start listing people as you always leave someone out.  Sharon, you are doing great.  I too have been through the corporate downsizing twice so I understand where you are.  I enjoyed an extended year of unemployment/vacation before I reentered the work world.  I took my time. 

Well, my doctor's appointment yesterday did not happen.  I am   I received a call one half hour before it was scheduled cancelling the appointment.  I cannot get another appointment for another week -- next Tuesday.     I am furious.  Furthermore, they lied and said that they called 1 1/2 hours before the appointment so I dont believe them when they say it had to be cancelled for an emergency.  Then they say I can come in anytime that I want but it still takes a week to get another appointment.  My doctor and I are going to have a VERY LONG discussion and perhaps a parting of the ways.  I really hate to give him up as he has literally saved my life twice and can read me like a book.  He gets the really uncanny hunches and is always right.  I have never seen anything like it.  Unfortunately, his staff is horrible.  It is a huge decision.  I have been with him for 20 years and I cant imagine someone else providing me with the care that he does.  But at what point do you say ENOUGH?

Today I have an injection in my spine to help the pain.  I hope it works.  It has not worked in the past because of the narrowness of my spinal column but some of that was cleared out last year during surgery so hopefully it will work this time.

 My emotions are with you.  I have not let anyone touch my spine even though at times I am sure I would be better off if all of the signals and lumps it produces could be eliminated.

Thanks so much for saying hello.

Before you change docs, I strongly suggest you have a discussion about it with your doctor. 20 years is a long time. It sounds like he is awesome. Unfortunately, today, so many doctors' staff is sub-par. It is very possible you will see the same types of issues when you change doctors. Usually, when a staff is bad, it is because the manager is bad. I'd let the doc know some of the issues that have come up recently and also let him know you will not continue if things do not change. Nancy, good luck!  I hope it works.  I had an epidural for leg pain casue by a herniated disc but it only lasted for a week.

I brought ground chicken to work today for lunch.  I had it in a zip lock bag and re-heated it in the microwave.  when I took it out the bottom of the back was melted and the chicken dumped all over the floor.  I scoured the caferia and they had a boneless turkey breatd at the carving station so I lucked out.  I chewed well and it all wnet down fine.  They gave me three big pieces so I ate my estimated 2oz's and packed the rest away in my luch sack to bring home and probably share with the dogs.
