Tuesday Roll Call
Good morning friends,
I have a haircut today to tame my hair. I lost so much being sick that I look like I had chemo. The new hair is coming in curly and redder than before. I used to have about 75% white mixed with the red/blonde but the new hair isn't white, much to my surprise. The curliness makes me look shocked all the time. I guess I'll get used to it. A small problem after all I've been through.
I also ordered a pair of glasses yesterday. I've worn contacts for 51 years but my lids droop enough that they won't move into the right place for bifocal reading. I've always been opposed to plastic surgery for me but if I don't have the bleph surgery I can't wear contacts anymore. I have to work up my courage to have even elective surgery!
Have a good day and enjoy the pleasant weather. We'll be complaining again soon enough! (It's an Illinois hobby!)

Working as usual. Had a chest X-Ray yesterday morning to check on why I have been wheezing for the last couple of months. Had to make sure no clots after leg surgery. Good news is that they saw no clots.....bad news is that I now have to use an inhaler to help me breathe and 5 days of anti-biotics to see if that will help. We think that the smoke I am exposed to daily can NOT be helping. Maybe I will just have to "bite the bullet" and file a complaint.
I have a bone density test this afternoon, so another short day. I could live with the ALL being short!
Nancy---good luck at the doc's today and I hope the shot helps tomorrow.
Connie---I have heard of hair growing back differently after major trauma. I have been losing tons of hair lately also. I plan to up my protein to see if it will start to grow back.
Got a phone call....gotta go!
Everyone have a great day!
The fog is burning off, and it should be a nice day.
Happy 33rd Randy, ours will be 47 in January.
Crystal, it will take you longer to warm up the car this winter, then drive home.
I agree with Nancy, where are you Chris?
Nancy, the Mary from yesterday was on here when I started to come here. It is good to see her.
I hope you get a good report at the Dr.s.
Yes, my unemplotment is cleared up. But then I went back to work for a couple of weeks, so, none again this week. I may be able to get one more check in 2 weeks.
Kevin, check in please.
Sharon, good luck trying to downsize. My house isn't huge, just over 2000 sq. feet, but there is no way that I would want less space.
Deb, welcome home.
Has anyone watched that show on TLC, Honey Boo Boo? I watched it, partly last week, and i won't be watching it again. That family is not what i want to hear or see.My opinion only.
No plans for today. I did finish my trip scrapbook yesterday. I want to work on my latest quilt today. We will see if it happens.
Hugs,
LISA
I am ding GREAT Nancy. Thanks for asking!
Yesterday was my first day back to work but I work from home on Mondays so today is my first day back in the ofice. I definately had to plan my food for today which I have not really been used to. I could always find something in the cafeteri pre-surgery. Today's lunch 2oz ground turkey, 2 oz pureed carrots and a quarter cup of smashed bananna, Yum!
I had my post op last thursday and I am NO longer morbidly obese! Still obese....lol. My BMI at the beginning of March was 44 and I am now down to 34! I was going into size 48 waist pants and I bought 40's yesterday for my return to work. My legs and knees are feeling great and I resumed my working out last night. I weighed in this morning and I an at 80 lbs weigh loss from my high of 334.
I am getting sick of protien shakes! I bough some Muscle Milk light and substitute that for one shake a day and that seems to help.
I am actually a bit worried because I have yet to feel uncomfortable while eating. I told my support group I feel like I could go to KFC and eat a chiken breast. They all dared me! I guess we weill see how it goes after I get off of soft foods....
Have a great day!
Kevin
I am 4 mos post op and also didn't feel full while I was strictly on plan. When you basically eat 2 oz of meat and drink protein shakes, you most likely will not feel full.
Due to a few issues with the way mu digestive system reacted to the amount amount of protein I had to eat everyday, I was told by a gastro doc to limit protein, add more fiber and fruit to my diet. Now, I am on a carb-cycling diet to lose the last 90 lbs. Since then, I have really noticed the full feeling. The other day I had a piece of toast with 2 strips of bacon and 2 slices of tomato. I could not fini**** and was so full I felt like I ate a turkey dinner.
Good luck on this awesome journey we are blessed to on.......
Best,
Sharon
