Saturday Roll Call
Congrats to you Birder on your loss to a 1x. The extra expense of buying plus size clothes is very unfair to me. I am pretty sure the markup is greater on plus size items even after the extra bit of labor and materials are considered. I too am down to 1x and have been for quite some time. My neck size is down to a 19. They cost me five dollars extra a piece and my color options went from six or seven to two when I entered the neck size. The move to Chicago proper and a shorter building has brought me many opportunities to take short walks as well as taking the stairs and my body is changing. I seldom use the elevator in our building unless I have such a load to carry that I worry about being able to see the stairs or that I worry about balance with not being able to hold the rail. For a while I gained a bit of weight but my clothes continued to fit the same. Recently though my belt has been tightening. I should buy a new pair of pants and jeans. Week before last I ordered two JCP shirts in short sleeves since the summer has been so hot. I had been comfortable the last two yars just rolling up my sleeves. On Friday my weight was back down to the 266.5 I have displayed in the graphic tracker here. I am temted to go ahead and join a gym to get down to around 200. That would put me in the regular departments of all the stores. In Houston there was a uniform store where I could buy pants that served well for work and dress at $20 dollars even when I at about a 72 inch waist. I am down now to 51 but I fit them funny because of my hernias and where the reconnection was done. Having all of the stores at Woodfield and nothing in them that fit me really made me feel like a freakshow and my personality became much like the Mom's in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I am glad you are getting close to being out of the plus size stores and departments.
My trip to Aldi yesterday turned out to be a small one. Cheryl's personality and raising does not lend itself to grocery list. Recently I threw a fit when the upteenth millionth time I went into the cabinet an hour after putting away a days shopping to get a scrubber pad because I had been standing at the sink scrapping a bowl with my fingernails and could not find one. She has been pretty good about it since then. She was raised by her Grandmother who went every morning to do the marketing for the days food. From 13 own I lived in a rural arwa and it was thirty miles to get anything but milk and bread. My parents having been through the depression did not like little store prices at all. Anyway when I looked at the list it turned out that it was more of a Target list so that is where I spent two hours yesterday and hope not to return for at least a month. Veggies meat and cheese are still a challnge to get on the list and I guess I should set up an inventory on the computer since we have a lot of standard frozen veggies as well fresh that we cook and then freeze. I tand to know those and when they are low I jus****ch the specials and go and get them. The same for our meats. So the Aldi run turned out to be just meats, cheeses, eggs and paper towels.
Last night as Sherry was standing at the sink she said she did forget to add one item she had the last of out and using. Guess what it was. Scrubber pads. Maybe the dollar store around the corner has them and I will get a dozen.
Enough ranting about my marital bliss. That girl still Lifts my spirits greatly even after we approach our 33rd year.
I need to go to the post office and the dollar store this morning and the heat should not be too bad so I will wonder up around noon to see if the church we are considering has their prayer booth set up at Six Corners. I have not seen it yet and that is an interesting idea to me.
What is going on with everyone else?
We have a retirement pool party for a guy that has retired from the county but before that he worked with me at IPD. The Kane Co fair yesterday was pretty good. We shared our food, walked, loved looking at the 4H displays. The kids did such a great job in all of the areas like clothing construction, crafts, art, food, gardening, mechanical (woodworking/metalworking). Loved walking through the livestock barns also. It was a great day to go with the weather yesterday.
I need to get outside to and water the flowers and veggies before it gets too hot and then the plants can benefit for the rest of the day.
I am still doing research on my situation to give me ammo when I go back into the doc. I need to get this situation fixed. I happened to remember that my mom's sister died from peritonitis after a burst bowel.

I'm back again....my family's wifi or router wasn't working right and I couldn't get on. Amanda and Charles are in town this weekend and Charles fixed everything. So here I am!!!! Boy I tell you I can't wait till I have my own place again...19 more days!!!! Although, I will have to admit I am getting used to living with people again and it's nice. I might be lonely by myself...or might welcome the solitude.
Talking about joining a gym, I can't wait till I move. My new apartment has a nice little gym. I need to get going on that exercise again.
Work is going well. But I did get in trouble for something I feel really wasn't my fault. I was trying to argue my point and they weren't going to see my point of view. So I gave in and appologized and promised to be more careful...oh well.
My friend Monica had to go to the hospital because she has a staph infection in her belly button that hasn't gone away with 2 rounds of anti-biotics. It's getting worse!!! She showed it to me and it looks painful. We think she might have gotten it from swimming in the river 2 weekends ago when she went camping.
Well I better get going I hear breakfast being made...that is one thing I will miss (all my meals being made for me!!!!!)
Have a good day....BYE!!!!
Good morning!
Last night we went to Vito's again for Italian food. His sauce is probably the best I've ever tasted. I don't generally like tomato sauces but this one is not sweet at all and has a full rich flavor. We were with four other women and the one that had lasagna said it was the best she had ever tasted. We'll have at least two or three more meals with the leftovers. We should stay home tonight but another of our favorite restaurants is having white sturgeon this weekend which is one of my two most favorite fish, and a type which we rarely see on menus, so Kay and I will take that on later. We won't have to cook till midweek!
We are going knitting in a few minutes. It's always fun to hang out with friends. I might even have real coffee today. I've been good about decaf but the caffeine appeals to me today.
Take care and stay cool!

Chris - thought of you this morning as many folks were ou****ering during my six am walk.
Just a quick trip across two states and back is hard for my Texas brain to comprehend.
We went to New Orleans and back in one day once but we had a wild woman driving a big Olds over 90mph.
