Good Morning, IL
Hopefully you all got at least a little rain. Not sure yet how much we got, but every little bit helps.

Got my new microwave unpacked and used it to defrost pork bugers which I then grilled. Yummy. The mw is much quieter than my almost 12 yr old one it replaced, plus it is a lot lighter!

Nothing much else going on. Everyone have a super day.

Georgie

Morning everyone. Boy was the sound of lightening, thunder and rain ever welcome. We have had just under 2" already.

Taking it easy today until I have to get Davey to his appt. to have the staples taken out. His physical torture is just that torture but he gets through it. I am trying to adjust to the soft food diet by educating myself with what I can and cannot have.

wunderground.com is a great website to check weather. You put in your zipcode and it brings up the current weather and then you can scroll down and put in a prior date or date from another year and it will give you the stats.

Being trained in Computer Science has not helped me in my many attempts to learn to write scripts and create apps others could download.  Hope springs eternal though and I have been able to do the first two exercises for learning a language called Python.  The version I am using seems to be just one generation after DOS so maybe I can begin from here and get to the Visual Studio level.

As soon as the rain lets up I will be out to the bank and then on to Navy Pier for the Abilities Expo put on by the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities.

New chair and ottoman.  Both glide/rock and he chair swivels and reclines.

Photo: It glides, swivels and reclines as well as having an ottoman that glides.

So you have been forgiven?

Morning Everyone!

We too got rain last night but I am not sure how much.  For a long time it looked like it would miss us.  But I will take every drop that I can get.  It did not do much to cool us off.  Our forcast is still in the 90's for the next week!

I get to go to PT again today.  Mine so far has not been the torture that Dave's has been.  I feel for him Chris as I remember those days right after surgery when it was torture.  But I knew that the more I endured it the more I would be able to move.

Georgie, glad you like your new microwave.  What brand did you get?

Sharon, I wish my tomatoes had lasted but I only got 2 cycles and then they were done.  I dont know if it was the variety or what.

Debbie, glad you now have a break before school.  That is always nice to have.

Dawn, I am so sorry that your job is creating so much stress.  That is definitely NOT a fun place to work.

Randy, I admire your optimism.  It is such a wonderful quality.  Have fun at the conference.  It sounds great!  That is another advantage of being in the city!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Nancy,

New MW is a GE.  My old one was a Sharp, but the reviews were pretty lukewarm on the ones I looked at online.  This particular GE model seem fairly highly rated and people were satisfied.  I don't use it to do a bunch of cooking.  Mainly like the defrost and heat up veggies settings.  I needed a countertop one, which in 10 years prbly won't even be around...they seem to be all heading toward the over the range, but I do like my range hood, although I see some mw's also have a range hood built in.  The problem is,  I didn't want to have to have "construction" done just to install it!  LOL, so my countertop ones will work out just fine.  When I redid my kitchen a couple of years ago, I had a new cabinet built for storage and put a matching countertop on it just so I could place the mw on it and not have to have it on a mw cart.  Works out really well!!

RE:  tomatoes, I put in one grape, getting 1 or 2 but when they come I'm gonna have a million, 1 early girl....just had my first one off that...and YUMMY, but lots of green and then 1 Big Boy...my favorite!  So we'll see.  I've been faithfully watering them and they look good.  I LOVE fresh tomatoes.  You surely can't get them to taste like the home grown ones from the store.

Good morning Georgie and the rest of Illinois!

The storm was pretty cool in Rock City, we even got pea sized hail.  Only about an inch of rain total, with only 3/4" from the downpour.  That's OK......like everyone else, I'll take it!  It cooled down a bit too, at least for today.

Liv seems to be having a great time although I could not talk/Skype with her last night since the cable is out.

Getting ready to put on a huge pot of carnitas for A Day in Rock City on Saturday and will have to do some house cleaning too.

Job sucks but pays the bills until I figure out a better solution.

Everyone have a great day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi Everyone,

Randy - Nice new chair!

I am one week into my pre-surgery diet.  I think I lost 7 lbs this week making my pre-surgery weigh loss at 59lbs. far.

I leave for surgery in Las Vegas on Wednesday.  Pre-op appointments on Thursday and surgery on Friday.  Time is moving fast!

We will be in Las Vegas for a full week.  I am trying to find a show for us to go to on Wednesday evening so we can have some fun on this trip.

I will be following up post op with a Dr. here in Illinois.

I aslo have a gastric bypass support group meeting tonight.

Have a good day!

Hi folks!

Just a quiet day today with nothing much going on. I'm glad for rain and the fact that it's cooler, but I don't have much energy. I've got some knitting projects I could be working on and there's always a book to read.

Have a good day!

Connie

hello friends my husband did well with the eye surgery. Should heal up almost like new.

If he gets back to work in the next couple weeks, we might just be ok . Bloomington is hard for me to get around in, too many one way streets.  Stay cool and have a great night.
