Friday Roll Call
I am working today but feel like maybe I am coming down with something. VERY tired and feeling like I have to cough. When I try to cough, my whole left ribcage hurts. Odd.
Tonight it Todd's softball team's annual "Hawiian Night" when they all wear Hawiian shirts and grass skirts for their ball game. Afterward they will gather for a cookout and pot luck. Not sure if I will go, but I made two pies. Remember the Raspberry Chocolate Pie I used to make? Well........I did not have any raspberry syrup but had some Kalua flavored so I substitued and made Kalua & Cream pie instead! I think I will post it!
Keeping up with LIv's adventures via the pictures she posts on Facebook. Besides that, I have not talked to her.
Todd found a washer and will be picking that up tonight also. I see laundry in our future.
Gotta get back at it.......everyone have a wonderful day!
Hi Illinoisans!
Went to the farmer's market alone this morning. (Kay usually goes with me because I don't have much stamina). I bought corn, green beans, okra, green pepper, green onions, asparagus, eggplant, and small zucchini. I nuked the corn for two minutes and the rest I cut into two in pieces, drizzled olive oil, kosher salt and fresh ground pepper and roasted all of it in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 400. Took them out as they were soft, sprinkled with garlic salt and a bit of balsamic vinegar, added the corn and cherry tomatoes from our garden and what a yummy dish! It's for a potluck tomorrow if we don't eat it all before. I will add fresh basil just before we leave.
That's a lot of effort for me and even though I sat at the dining room table to do all the cutting, I am ready for a nap. I am just pleased I was able to do this much. Everyday is getting better and it feels like I have my life back. If I could just get done with the fistulas and bandage!
I've tasted Dawn's raspberry pie (she brought it to support group) and so I'll bet the kaluha one is just as tasty! Give it a try!
Have a good day! Looks like we may get rain--oh please, yes!

It is RAINING here! The temps have dropped over 20 degrees from 94 to 70 in the last hour. A nice, solid rain!
Worked until 12:30 today, then went to the bank. Came home and took a nap. Got PT scheduled for a few weeks. Then just hung out with Rick and played with the kitties. Nice afternoon.
No special plans for the weekend.
Hope everyone is getting to share the rain! I will ask it to go to all of you!
Have a great weekend!
