Tuesday Roll Call
I'm back!!!! I think I was having withdraws from not being able to post here!!!

Well work is going great. The people here are so nice and welcoming. It's such a change from the last place I worked. I also love working with my friends again...it's like old times. Of course you know my employer treated us to a day at an equestrian farm to see a competition. They also let us go home extra early twice now (with pay) for no reason!!! They have treated us for lunch three times now and they are going to have a big company picnic next month. So this place seems to appreciate their employees. I never worked for a place like this before.
I also found an apartment!!! It's only 1.7 miles from work. I could walk if I wanted to but it's mostly really busy streets so I probably won't. The place I found is in an apartment complex...I haven't lived in an apartment complex in a long time. The perks are they have a pool and a gym!!! My unit won't be ready till August though (they are remodeling the unit)...I can't wait!! I also had to get a 1 bedroom. Rent was too high for a 2 bedroom (over $1000). So I will be living in Joliet soon!!!
Some of you hear Amanda and Charles will be leaving soon for Peru!!! The Peace Corp will be sending them 9-13. It took a little over a year for the application process. Amanda's official title will be "Protected Areas Facilitator" and Charles will be a community outreach organizer. They just sent away for their passports and visas. And now they have to go for their shots!!!!
Well that's the main news to catch up on. How have you guys been doing???? I missed talking to you all so much!!!
I got to get ready for work now..it takes me an hour to drive to Joliet...yuck.
Have a wonderful day....bye

Crystal, welcome back!

For me, while you were gone, I got a new kitty. The name is Gizmo. Gizmo took a hike about a week after he arrived and was gone for 2 1/2 days. He did not know where he lived so we had search parties and posters out to find him. He is now adjusted to home and is full of antics.
I also got a new car.
I am so happy you like your new job. It must be wonderful to work for a place that appreciates their employees so much. Also glad you found an apartment.
Today I am working and then home. Yesterday, I took Gizmo to the vets as he had caught a cold. Now trying to get him to take medicine is a real challenge. Both he and Tigger are rebelling against pills.

I am enjoying the last day before the heat moves back in!
Everyone have a great day!

Good morning!
Crystal, your employer sounds amazing! I'm so glad you got this particular job!
I went to the doc in Madison yesterday and had one of the openings cauterized. I was hoping for the other two but will have to wait for that. We also saw the dietician. Everyone is so happy with how I am doing. They do remind me that even though it's been 8 months since the surgery, I was so sick that it's been more like five months since I started being able to eat anything. They were all so pleased that I would walk in to the clinic and didn't have to be on a stretcher or a wheelchair.
We had gone to Apple first to get a new computer, out to lunch, picked up a few spices at Penzey's, to the clinic and back to the west side to pcik up the computer after the transfer of data. Then we ate dinner at the Hubbard St. diner in Middleton. We got back on the highway to find stop and go traffic so we took the back roads home (MM and 104). We didn't get home till after 7--a really long day for me! I'll need a nap today. Our friends are coming about 2 or 3 so that will be fun. I can't wait to see them.
Hope all of you have a wonderful day!
Connie

I am working as usual then home.
David's first night home was pretty good. We had a couple of job leads for him and hope he checks them out. One I just know he would LOVE but he will have to cut his hair to even be considered. It is for "line guys which would fuel aircraft, help with small maintenance on the aircraft that they restore, and maintenance of the hangars". Working for a warplane restoration company. I REALLY HOPE he goes for it.
He and Liv still bicker like always. The neighbor whose son she tutors came by last night and gave her a little "Acer" notebook. He said that it is just sitting in his basement and he wanted to show his appreciation for Liv's work with his son. David spent all night complaining how HE had to BUY his laptop......... Well, what can I say? But, besides that, so far, so good. I DID forget how much he can eat though!
Tomorrow, I go to what will probably be my last PT appointment and Liv gets her ears checked. Everyone send good thoughts her way as she had fluid in the right one about 3 weeks ago and if it is still there, she will be unable to dive! That will be a tragedy.
That's about it for me.......everyone have a wonderful day!
Just to keep all of you in the loop. Dave fell in the dining room last night @ about 1am (we sleep in the living room during the summer on a custom made Murphy Bed. It is too hot upstairs for us) He was a little disoriented due to us being in the Dells (2 hotels) and then home, tired after the heavy traffic home. He realized he was in the dining room, he thinks he caught his toe on the big area rug and fell. I heard him and he had already had gotten himself up (do not know how – see further), I heard him moaning while turning and at 3 I said I was going to get some Tylenol. I know he is really hurting when he accepts drugs. He slept for a short while and then got up when I was about ready to shower for work. I had the shower going and he was doing his usual potty routine and he collapsed back into the tub. He did not at first respond to me and then he came around. He managed to get himself out of the tub but collapsed on the bathroom floor, face down. I thought he by that time had a stroke because he was so limp and unresponsive to direction and questions. 911 was called and they took him to ABMC in EGV. I got there about 20 minutes later and he was in CT for the head. He had blood work, EKG and x-rays. He broke the humerus right near the ball joint. I got him into his ortho doc office (same office as for his knee replacement- diff doc) and he is going to do surgery on Monday to put a rod in. You may wonder why Monday – his Medicare starts Sunday and the United Health Care policy he has now would not cover any of the care after Sunday. Six weeks of immobilization of the arm and then I am going to guess rehab. I have my taxi driver’s cap on already.
