Good Friday Morning Everyone!

It is a beautiful day out there in Illinois land.  At least for the morning!  I hope everyone is up and haveing a great start to their day.  Remember, you only have to make it through today and then you have two whole days off!

No exciting plans for me today.  Rick is going to go visit his son this afternoon so I am alone tonight.  Taxes are done so no last minute cramming this weekend.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning All,

It is a beautiful morning. I know rain is expected later, but we will take the sun whenever it decides to shine on us.

I will be picking up the house this morning, and then getting serious about packing for our trip next week. I like to tie all the strings up  early on things. I am not a last minute person.

Our taxes have been paid and filed for over a month. Not  that I wanted to pay them, but that way it is not on my mind until the end. I do the same with the Real Estate taxes. The day they come, I try to get them paid. I hate thinking about stuff like that.

hubert is taking my car this morning, he has some appointments to do. I told him I will run with my stuff later.

We watched WAR HORSE last night. I really enjoyed it.

Have a great day!!!

Hugs,
LISA

Have fun getting prepared for your trip.  The anticipation is always fun!  I usually do not wait until the last minute to do my taxes but for some reason I have done so the last few years.  I usually take them to an accountant but decided to do my own this year.  I am getting back a lot of money so I should have done them earlier!

RNY on 06/04/12
Good Morning everyone!

Not feeling well and staying home from work today.. I'll be the third co-worker this week to miss a day so I guess it's just whatever is going around the office. But it has me wondering what will being sick be like after the RNY. I've added a bunch of questions for the Dr.s office after experiencing this. Everything from OTC medicines to same amount? to stomach flu ?s. So I guess there is a bright side to being sick I hadn't thought to ask these before.

Have a good Friday the 13th everyone!

 Heidi,

I hope you feel better shortly.  I have only had one bout of flu after RNY that threw me for a loop.  I could not keep anything down and 7-up used to settle my stomach at those times.  I took one sip of 7 up and it came foaming back out!    I had had a carbonated drink before (not too often) but with an upset tummy, it was a definite NO NO.  There are some meds you have to avoid as well.  Otherwise, it is the same feeling of being sick for me.

Good morning Nancy and the rest of Illinois!

I am up and getting ready to work.  Thought I would stop here first though.

We had a very sad phone call on Wednesday when the Freeport Animal Control called to tell me that David's dog, Maxine, had been hit by a car and killed.  Todd went and picked her up and David came over and buried her in our back yard.  Very, very sad.

Also, his car's engine blew and now he needs to replace the car.  David is NOT having a good week.  I am letting him use my (new) car for this week, but he needs to find a solution soon.

WELCOME Heidi!  Good to see a new face.  As far as getting sick after RNY.....my experience is the my "puker" no longer works.  I do not vomit (spontaniously) any more.  My surgeon had never heard of this, but I had read on the boards before surgery that it can happen.  One thing my surgeon DID say was that it can be very different after RNY.  If you have food in your pouch and DO vomit, it (for lack of a better way to describe it) will look very similar to how it went down.  Not digested.

I've been going to join in on the "what did you eat today" post, but I am having a hard time getting my family to feed me on schedule.  Todd seems to forget that I need to eat.  I live on Triscuits, cream cheese and smoked turkey pretty much.  I had about 5 of these little things and a handful of grapes yesterday.  Later, I managed to make a ham, asiago and lettuce sandwich on a small Hawiian bun.

Well, I'd better get to work.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Tell someone that you love them!

 Dawn,

So sorry to hear about Todd's dog.  That is always so sad.  They are a member of the family.

I hope he finds a car soon.  This really has been a rotten week for him.

Hey, Tell that family of yours that they need to FEED YOU!  Wave those crutches or get a flag to wave around and say "Hey, remember me?"   Hope they start takeing better care of you.
