Thursday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I am so glad it's almost Friday...I have fun plans this weekend.  Amanda's hubby took a week to travel down to Mississsippi with a church group to help out with Habitat for Humanity.  But Amanda couldn't get a whole week off of work.  So she is home by herself.  So tomorrow we are having a good old fashion slumber party!!!! With scary movies and pizza!!!!  Then Saturday we are going to the movies to see Hunger Games!!! Yeah!!!

I heard that because of the early warm weather the high rises in Chicago are really hot inside.  I guess it takes a lot of work to switch over from heat to AC and they aren't ready to do that.  The windows don't open but a couple inches or not at all.  So it gets really hot in there.  Some apartments were over 90 degrees...yuck.  Makes me grateful for my place....it's not fancy but it's cool.

No special plans today...same old, same old.  How about you guys?

Another great day out there, blue skies and all. I even seen a rainbow in the westren sky this morning.

We have had no clients yet today, so it is kinda slow. I will be heading to the store when I get off today.
 
Tomorrow, we  are heading for Hoffman Estates to go to St. Alexias for a dietian visit, one more thing before they can submit for a revision. Also going to meet a cousin for lunch hopefully.We have no other plans for this weekend.

Dawn, i hpe you will be able to get online easier. We do miss you.

Good morning crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I have slept in my own bed the last two nights!  Tuesday night I was not sure if it was worth it but last night was better.  I miss my bed and being next to my husband!  Downstairs on the recliner is kind of lonely.

I am not getting around much better and am literally counting the days until I get the regular cast......5.  I am sure once I am rid of this 20 lb. bohemoth, I will feel MUCH better.  The bad news is that I will have to return to work eventually....gotta pay the bills.  NOT looking forward to it but keeping it out of my mind as much as possible right now.

I DID make dinner yesterday.  I had Todd bring me an onion and potatoes in the recliner and cut them up them refrigerated along with a rump roast.  Threw them all in the crock pot and cooked all day.  Not much, but made me feel like a contibuting member of the family. 

I am having a hard time and getting very frustrated with it all.  The 20 lb splint is meant to keep me down and it is working.  I have a meltdown about once a day, then usually take a nap and feel better.  Not sure it I am tiring myself out or just sick of sitting.  David is visiting this evening so that is something to look forward to.

Crystal, you tulips look great.  Mine are late-bloomers.  Everyone is right, out of a pack of bulbs, a few will not bloom.  Squirels and bad bulbs are the culprits.  Bulbs also multiply so after a few years the flowers will be smaller.  When that happens, dig them up and separate and re-plant for more, bigger flowers.  tulips are one of my favorite flowers!

Really not much going on with me other than the usual at work and home. The walking boot does not hold me back. I still manage to get a lot of walking in during the course of the day - to and from work most days and on Tuesday we walked after I got off for close to 2 miles. I did pay the price for that the next day with being a little sore. Try as you can you really do not get a totally even level shoe to match the boot so you are a little off and hobble a little. I have found that my clothing is getting bigger because of the extra effort I am doing while walking plus before that Dave and I had started an after work walking program.

Have a village chamber of commerce get together here shortly at one of the local golf clubs.
