Friday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Yeah it's Friday....it's been waiting for me all week.
Believe it or not I started a new book and I stayed up a little late. Hahahaha. The book looks very promising. I'm on chapter 5 and it's very interesting. The book is called Divergent....
Today after work I am working out and going to pick up some groceries, then I'm going to get some Chipotle...ahhhh...my Fridays are so nice!!!!!
My bulbs I planted last Fall are all growing and blossoming. I'm excited because it's the first time I ever did this and they are looking so nice. I planted daffodils, tulips, and mascari. Now do these die and then I plant other plants??? If so when?
Dawn- I really hope you are doing well...I hope we hear from you soon
Well what is your Friday looking like????
I got to get going...have a good day everyone...see ya later.

Bulbs are perennials and will come back every year if they are planted properly and are in the correct climate. The green will die back. Each plant has its own time frame as to when the plant will die back. Some you will go in and cut the spent leaves off when they yellow and others like iris, day lily and tiger lily stay green and you leave the green part there. Many people will put annuals in around the bulbs for color during the summer. One just needs to be careful where they loosen the earth to plant the annuals.

I have the majority of this lovely day to myself. I took today off for a doc appt. I have been having a lot of pain with my left foot on the top between the ankle and the toes. It hurts so bad I can hardly walk when I first start out. This is not a good thing for one that loves to walk and also walks to work. So, that will be at 1145 and then we are going to stop for a bite to eat and go to the store for a couple of things. After that we will enjoy the day, whatever it brings!
UPDATE: I have a stress fracture near the third toe. She also saw on the xrays that I have a lot of oestopenia in my foot. I was diagnosed with it back about 4 years ago with my first dexascan. It is real bad in my right hip.
I am in a walking boot for 3 weeks then I go back to see her (doc). I already had the boot from the last stress fracture. I can however ride my outside bike for exercise as opposed to "street walking", TEEHEE. Dave is the one that looses with that because he has not riden his bike since his knee replacement because of some balance issues. We are however considering a Trek, adult tryc for him. We stopped at Elk Grove Cycelry after lunch today. Had to go to their Arlington Heights store to see the actual bike but I got to stop at my fav running shoe store in downtown AH, Runner's Hi & Dri.Got a discount because one of the owners is a former cop and knows my chief.

So sorry to hear about the foot. But as you were describing it, I thought "she has a stress fracture" I have had so many of those, I know all the symptoms and can diagnose one before the x rays. It drives my podiatrist's staff nuts. Be sure to find a shoe that matches the heel height for the boot or you will end up with a wicked back ache!

Good Morning,
Crystal, after your plants die, you can plant annuals. Actually. you can plant them anytime after they bloom. Plant annuals after you know that there is no danger of frost. About 5/15 or so. But I have a bad habit of rushing things, and plant them in April. Just make sure you don't disturb the bulbs.
Dawn, please come on and let us know how you are doing.
Nancy, I hope you can get your company to get that new chair for you.
Me, I am playing Merry Maid this morning. We have the family coming for Corn Beef and Cabbage tomorrow. I also wat to get out in the sun, if possible, to get some vit. D.
Life is Good.
Hugs,
LISA

Good Morning Crystal and IL!
WOW what a wonderful weather day. Crystal, good luck with your plantings. I do not have a green thumb, so I have planted a lot of the various color day lilies that come up by themselves every year and bloom happily from June through the summer. Last year I planted a few hostas, but we'll see if they come back ok! I think they need shade. I throw in a couple of tomato plants and I'm pretty much done!
Christine, sorry your foot is bothering you. Hope it starts to feel better.
Lisa, enjoy your St. Pat's dinner. Never been big on corned beef, but I remember my dad liked it.
Chloe is coming up tonight and then Amy is coming up on Sunday and we are having a cook out at my place (hamburgers, yum) for Chloe's bday and Jim, her grandpa. Gotta get her presents wrapped. I got her a nice cover for her Nook Color and a couple of cases for her Ipod touch. (I guess you can never have too many?)
Running to Walmart to pick up some things after work, cleaning the church sometime between tonight and tomorrow, and then fun with Chloe! LOL I'm thinking we will get the bikes ready to ride (and hopefully take a ride!)
Nancy, sorry to hear about the difficult times at your work. Hope you can get it all worked out.
Dawn, we all hope you are doing ok and anxious to hear.
Don't know much else. Everyone have a super weekend.

Good evening Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I am here!
Surgery on Monday went well and I did NOT have to have the "BIG SCREW", which was my biggest worry. Today is the first time I have made it up the stairs to check in with you all. Tuesday was terrible pain-wise but once I got a handle on the pain, I have been a bit better each day. I am living in the recliner and only get up to go to the bathroom. This "bulky splint" if HUGE and weighs at least 20 lbs., very similar to the one I had before surgery. I go back on the 27th to get a new x-ray and hopefully a regular cast. In the mean time, I am reading Stephen King's "The Stand---un revised edition". After that, I will go bonkers.
I need to head back down now and get more pain medicine. I did not have time to catch up on all this week's posts so I hope you are all doing well.
Did Lisa get a result? I have been thinking of her a lot.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Dawn, it is great that you are better, and we will forgive you for not checking in. I am so glad that your surgery went good, and you just keep relaxing. You do deserve it.
My results showed no cancer. All I got to show for it is a breast that is almost all purple. But that will go away. Thank you for your comcern.
Huggers,
LISA
