COVENTRY Insurance
Hello,
I am posting this on the slim chance someone out there has Coventry Health Care or Coventry National Insurance. If you do, were you able to get them to cover any type of WLS? I live in Illinois and work for Coventry and when I called them they said bariatric surgery is an exclusion of the plan. Just wondering if anyone has this insurance and was successful in getting them to allow WLS or was successful in appealing with them. Not sure if you can appeal when your policy says bariatric surgery is excluded.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? I cannot afford self-pay at rates found in the Unites States. I would have to go to Mexico but that is another topic for another day...no idea how to research Dr.'s there or how you handle follow-ups or complications once you leave Mexico. Also, Coventry said they would not cover any complications or anything that would result from bariatric surgery, even if I paid for it.
