Tueday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Made it through another Monday...ugh!!! Today is more of the same....
I had a good workout. I am loving that machine. I love when there's someone next to me working out really hard because it pushes me to try harder. I just wish I could enjoy it WHILE I was working out...I love it after word. The feeling is great.
I am looking forward to the time change on Sunday....then it will still be daylight when I get out of the gym!!! That will be nice. I feel like Spring s just within my grasp!!!
I hear it will be a nice day today...but of course I will stuck in the offce till 5.
what is your day looking like today?
Well have a great day...see ya later

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
My weekend was half good, half not-so-good. Friday we watched movies and Saturday Todd an I went to a party at a friend of his' club. Danced and danced and had fun. On the way to the car, I slipped on the ice and fell. Went to the ER on Sunday and turns out I broke my left ankle and messed up the knee also. BUMMER!
I am home in the recliner and only get up for bathroom and such. I have never had a broken bone in my life and never had to use crutches. Man, I think I will have 3/4 of a "buff" body by the 6-8 weeks this will take. I am using muscles that I didn't know I had!
I am not to bear ANY weight on the left side for that long. I go to the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to either be cast or see if a pin needs to be placed.
I am trying to look at the bright side here........first of all, it is the left side, so I should be able to drive at some point. Then of course there is the "it could be worse" thankfulness in so many ways. But, I think the blessing here is that I have a break from my nightmare job. (pun not intended) The stress was about to drive me insane so these few (or more) days away might help. Of course the crappy part is that my gym plans are definately out of the question......but I have the crutches.
The other hard thing is getting my family to realize how much help I need. They have spent the last couple of days bringing me carbs to eat and are sometimes helpful and sometimes.....not so much. With crutches you can't really carry anything unless it will fit in a pocket. So....I gave Todd a list and hope he fills it. I think I may get a little string bag to carry things from the kitchen to the recliner.
So, to answer the question, my day will be spent in the recliner, sleeping off the vicodin, reading and watching Law & Order and Criminal MInds or maybe a movie.......
Lisa, I am sending good thoughts and positive energy your way. It is a scary thing to go through.
Nancy, I hope you get some answers soon. I have a very good friend that has that genetic issue also.
Everyone have a lovely day!

Hi Dawn,
I just got around to reading this. I'm SO sorry. THankfully, never had a broken bone (knee replacement however!). Just take it easy and let your fam wait on you...and don't be afraid to TELL them what you need! LOL. I'll be checking to see what you report about your Dr. appt.
I wish I was closer so I could help you!! Take care. P.S. Milk being away from work as long as you can!!!!

Oh dawn how terrible!!! I am so sorry. I have broken some bones in my life and it was painful....most of the bones I broke happened in one incedent. A car accident when I was 19 I broke 7 bones...it hurt!!!! Well like you said you have a break from work now. You can alway get hand weights and work on your upper body while your laid up. This kind of thing scares me because I live alone and I would have no one to take care of me it would be a real problem for me. I would mana age I always do.
I wish u a fast and speedy recovery!!!!

Evening Everyone!
What a beautiful day today! We almost hit 70 degrees here! I tried to eat lunch outside but got blown away. Way too windy. Too bad, it was so nice outside. My day off really was nice. I went to work today rested and ready to dig in.
Crystal, I too am looking forward to the time change except for the losing an hour of sleep part. I love more daylight in the evening.
Sandy, close encounters with snakes are not my thing! I hate those things. I have a real phobia about them. I would have been in the next county! Hope you can keep them at bay!
Dawn, I am so sorry to hear that you broke your ankle. Broken bones HURT! Crutches are the pits. I never have been able to master them. Good luck to you! You can try to tie a plastic bag onto the crutch handles. That can be used then to carry things. Or else a back pack may come in handy. Enjoy your time off of work, but next time, just take vacation time and dont go to the trouble of breaking your foot!
