Morning ladies and gents. Had a wonderful night as I slept  through the majority of it. I recently found the coffee machine here on the floor and it has been love @ first sight. Headaches are gone for the most and the pain is subsiding.

Have an MRI later today and then the big decisions of the day are how many times I can walk the hallways, ordering my liquid "food"  and what is on TV (not much).

What is going on in your world?

Later gators

 &

2pm update
advanced to a soft diet for lunch. Supposedly after the MRI I get sprung today.

Good Morning Christine and All,

Christine, i hope they find your problem. Any time that you are confined to a hospital room is horrid, but the liquid diet is worst.

It was so nice to see that yesterday our little Illinois forum  had a large amount of entries. That is more like  it.

Crystal, we have mediacom for everything other then my dada plan for my ipad and my cell phone. I do agree, it is highway robbery. But it is our own fault. If we didn't want all the extra stuff, they wouldn't be offering it. And we can go back to a basic cell phone.

Nancy, has anyone checked your throat for polyps? Back in 02/03, they found polyps on my voice box, not cancerous, but that was causing me to lose my voice. A simple operation, no voice for 2 weeks, and everything was back to normal. Another benefit was that I quit smoking at that time. (no relapse at all :))

We had a good time in Springfield yesterday, plus we found a few more train stores for Hubert. I am now in the process of casting stones for his mountain, that he wants to use as a tunnel. I am so glad that he found a " new" hobby. He hadn't had his trains out for over 20 years.

I have some stuff to do this morning. Just normal stuff and I want to make that chicken receipe for dinner, then get ready for another work week.

Hugs,
LISA

Lisa, walking the four short hallways is the worst. The ride for the MRI will probably be the highlight of my day, TEEHEE. The full liquid diet is getting boring. I love their cream soups. Dave is bringing me some protein drinks today for variety. I have the ? of when I can advance to a reg. diet on my list to ask the docs today.

Hello everyone

Yesterday we had a nice day.  Instead of going out to eat we went back to my house and I made calzones for us (of course I ended just eating the stuffing) and played board games.  In the morning I helped Amanda make a memory book for her friend that's getting married, she's standing up in her wedding next weekend.  It turned out really cute!!!  She even made the cover...she embroidered her friend's name.  Then she used buttons for flowers and the sun was shiny beads....it was adorable.

Today I am going to get my newspaper and do laundry (I didn't get to it yesterday)....then I am relaxing.  I am also going to plan a nice dinner.  That has become my Sunday evening ritual.  As a single person it's hard to cook for one person.  So I have made sure I made at least one really nice meal each week.

Chrisitne- I'm glad your headache is going away...believe me I can understand your pain.  I really hope your other doc can get to the bottom of this.

Lisa- new hobbies are so much fun.  I'm glad your hubby has rediscovered his trains.  When I moved here I switch my cable from Comcast to Direct TV and so far I'm satisfied.  The only reason I would switch back to Comcast would be to consolidate my bill...I have Comcast internet (which I love and recommend) and it would be nice to have fewer bills....but it's a stupid reason to switch companies.  So I won't switch.

Nancy- whatever they need to do to you talking again.  I can't imagine your throat is still bothering you.  I hope you get better soon too...

Well gotta go get my newspaper...have a nice Sunday....bye

Good morning

I am feeling pretty good being 6 days post op.  This morning I did dishes n a load of laundry.  I will be so glad when Tuesday gets here so I can start my protein shakes along with clear liquids.  Cause I can only handle sweet tasting clear liquids(like SF jello, popicles n flavored waters) are getting old.

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Another lazy day so far for me.  I slept in again this morning.  It has been so nice.  I just have been so tired.  I have to have a lung scan next week as one of my blood tests came back positive for possible blood clots.  My doctor is thinking I may have small clots on mu lugs again.    I love my doctor but darn it does he always have to come up with these wild ideas?  And 9 times out of 10 he is right.  I have to make an appointment with an ENT to get my voacl chords and sinuses & esophogas scoped.  That is NOT a fun appointment.  I will spare you the details of how they do it.

Christine,  I hope they come closer to a diagnosis today or at least let you have some solid food.  I would be chomping at the bit!  At least you can cat nap which is what I do best in hospitals.

Lisa, I am glad you had fun in Springfield yesterday.  Also, it is so neat that Hubert has a hobby.  I think trains are really popular.  Do you ever come to the Sublette toy show?  I think that is mostly trains.

Crystal, it sounds like you had a fun day with Amanda yesterday!  That is so nice that you are now close and can do things with her.  Enjoy your day today.  I find myself preparing about 1 nice meal a week and try to make something that has leftovers so that I am not always stuck with frozen meals.  I love my balsamic pot roast I make in the crock pot.  That reheats so well.

Vicki, those liquids do get old, but your tummy is just like a new born baby's and cannot handle regular food just now.  I know it doesn't make it any easier to hear but hang in there.  After the first few weeks, it really is easy.

Have a great day!

Advanced to a soft diet for lunch, yummo. I have not napped since I got here. I am just too aware of what is going on around me and I am nosey.

I have had clots on the lungs so I know what you are going through. Happened to me in '91. For me I was on Coumadin for years. At that time I was also MO.

Hope they find out what is wrong with the throat soon.

Food, glorious food!  Yay for soft diets!  I have had massive clots on the lungs before too.  Hope to not repeat that experience.  It was not fun.  I am on coumadin for life because of them.  But I guess they can still form while still on coumadin.  Sigh.

I am not a doctor but I do not think you can develope blood clots while on Coumadin. Dave is on it and his doc said he would not develope them in the future.

Anyways, the situation is scary all the way around.

Unfortunately, my doctor says it is possible.  They would be small clots.  It has been known to happen.  I also have an umbrella filter.  I don't do anything the normal way so if it is slightly possible, leave it to me to accomplish the feat.
