Good mornning Steven and the rest of Il!
For New Year's, I like to stay home also. Since having kids it is funny how the idea of driving on the streets with a bunch of drunken fools no longer interests me!! Yes it would be fun to do a fancy party etc, but I have just as mush fun staying home with a nice fire in the fireplace!
I hope all have/are enjoying their break. I am off till next Wednesday. Today, I will tackle some much needed laundry and finish sorting out my bedroom. I am thinking it is time to get rid of everything I no longer need. Why keep it, if I am not using it. Right??!!!
After the bedroom, I have the kitchen, my craft area and storage room. So much stuff!! I am getting tired of stuff!
With the New Year approaching has anyone thought of any resolutions? I am thinking of doing a 5k every month. This will keep me accountable with my workouts plus it is something my family also wants to do. The first one is The Polar Dash in Chicago. I will be signing up for that one after payday. If you hear of any for Feb let me know!!

Hello everyone
I woke this morning to a winter wonderland outside....which I don't mind since I don't have to drive any where today. It only looks to be about 2 inches anyway. I'm glad I got most of my outside decorations down yesterday.
Yesterday, I went to Target I got my ornament box and The Help (the movie). I went to Petsmart and picked up a dose of flea medicine for Amanda's kitty. Then I came home and put away all of my Christmas decorations and cleaned. Then I relaxed the rest of the evening.
Today I have no plans. I will jus****ch movies and relax. I slept till 7:30....which is pretty late for me. I had to run outside and put out my garbage. I shoveled some snow. Now I am cozy under my electric blanke****ching TV and eating breakfast....it's as wonderful as it sounds!!! I wish my week off could last forever!!!!
As far New Years...I have always stayed in. I was never much of a partier or a drinker. My grandma told me once "all that's out on New Years is drunks and cops and I don't want to run into either" That sounded like good advice. So I stay in and relax.
Steven- I now have 96 books on my Kindle (I have only had my Kindle for 2 1/2 months)....hahaha. My newest buys are 1984, Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies....I just bought those yesterday. I just love the Kindle. It is by far my most favorite possession right now!!!!
Well let me get back to my relaxing...have a good day everyone!!!! Bye!!!

We usually host the neighbors at our house on New Year's Eve for a pot-luck, games and freindship. That way everyone can just walk home! This year I think we are doing the same, but I will have to be in bed shortly after midnight. I will have to be on the road by 5:30 am to pick Liv up from O'Hare.
I am working today and the rest of the week.
Liv is having a great time! She saw the big tree at 30 Rock, the skating rink, the Empire State Bldg, and St. James' Cathedral. Yesterday, they went shopping on Broadway and at the Macy's on 34th Street. Today, they are hoping to go to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Very cool......
It is odd to have an empty nest. I went upstairs to enjoy my new mattress at 7:30 last night and caught myself sleeping at 8:15........

Good Morning Everyone!
I received a Nook on Christmas Eve and have downloaded 12 books so far. I have to admit I am enjoying it more than I thought I would.
We are going to a friends house this year for New Years Eve. Morgan will be with us this year. Usually I let her go to her dads because she is off school and he does not spend a lot of time with her but this year I decided I wanted her with me. The kids will have their own party in the basement while the adults are up stairs.
It snowed last night. I know I watched the weather forcast before I went to bed and it did not say a thing about the snow. Whats the saying a day late and a dollar short..well it was a day late for a white Christmas but I will take it. Now it does not need to snow anymore this winter.
Have some errands to run this morning. Will be off work till at least next Wednesday.

Good Morning Everyone!
I have been up off and on since 3am. When I am sick, I dont sleep. I finally gave up at 7am and fed the cats, showered and dressed. I have a dentist appointment shortly and a run to the bank. Tomorrow I get in to see my doctor. Still no voice.
Steven, my gift card did not last long for my Kendall. Too many tempting books. I love reading on it. At first it was odd but now I love it. Seems to read even faster than a book. I do not go out on New Years. Tried it a few times but it is expensive and a bunch of drunks. Not worth it.
Debbie, for what it is worth, studies show that in order to set a goal/habit, you must do something within the first 48 hours toward that goal to make it successful. So that means, you must do something active about marathons within the next 48 hours, buy shoes,, do some running, training, exercising etc or it will not happen. You go girl!
Crystal and Monica, I am surprised you got snow. I did not see anything about it in the forecast. Better you guys than me. Crystal, I love all the books you downloaded. Enjoy reading them.
Dawn, your new year's eve plans sound great. You really live in a great town! I hope you have a great time. Enjoy your peace and quiet while it lasts. Liv will be home soon and you will be back to running around.

Good Evening.
We will sorta go out. We are going for dinner at 6:30, then I am sure we will come home, so Hubert can get to work by 5;30. It is only 2 miles from our home where we go.
It was back to work for me today also. I then went to Walmark for some felt for Huberts train layout. The only shock I got at Wally World was that they have already put valentines out. I also bought a more powerful flat irom for my hair. Daughter #2 told me that the one I had was a peice of junk, and I needed a better one.
