Monday Roll Call
Good Morning Illinois,
I see we all survived Christmas, 2011. only 364 days until the next one, Kidding aside, the years seem to fly.
Most of this last year was good, except forHubert almost dying and an emergency trip to Peoria for a pacemaker, back in January. I told him that if he wanted to skip our 45th, I could think of cheaper ways to do it.
Life is good, enjoy it to the fullest.
HUGS,
LISA
Well Christmas was wonderful. Amanda bought me a wonderful sweater I was admiring one time but didn't buy it because it was $80!!! Well she went back bought it for me!!!! What a great surprise. At first I was worried because it didn't look big enough....but I tried it on and it fit. So I wore it yesterday!!!!
Amanda loved her Bed and Breakfast giftcard. I also gave her a giftcard from a place called Global Giving. It's a charity and you buy a person a giftcard and they decide what they want to donate. So you can donate bricks for a school they are building or seeds for a farm....so on!!!! Cool idea...Amanda loved it!!!
Although, Christmas was great....Christmas Eve started out as a dis taster. I found fleas on Jasper!!! I ran to Petsmart and bought a flea treatment from the Vet there. I also bought a flea bomb. I had to leave the house with Jasper for 2 1/2 hours. Then when I came back I had to vacuum and clean every thing in ho****er. I found it to be disgusting and couldn't wait for those fleas to be dead. I also felt bad for poor Jasper. It took me most of the day clean everything. By the time I was done I was exhausted. But I was able to do my Christmas cookies and have Amanda and Charles over for dinner.
Today I am going to Target for some things I saw on sale. Then I am swinging by PetSmart to pick up a flea treatment for Amanda's kitty (because I watched him last month and I want to make sure he didn't get them from Jasper). Then my day is wide open for anything I want to do!!! Ahhh!!!
Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!! See ya later....bye!!!!
Sitting here eatiny my breakfast, beef jerkey, cheese, and some fruit and thinking about heading to the mall. I really wanted and needed a new wallet for Christmas and it was the one thing I did not receive. Off to see if there are any more deals left at at the stores. Thinking of maybe heading over to Peoria to do some shopping at the UFS store. This store is so junky it is amazing. Lots of good deals all of the time. I might take my husband out for lunch today. I had my 15 year anniversary at work at the beginning of December and as a gift I was able to pick out gift cards. I choose Old Navy, Harry and Davids, Chili's, Applebee's, and TGI Fridays. We will see he just wants to do things around the house and I actually want to do something today.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I survived Christmas but have managed to come down with a horrible sinus infection. It is typical of me on any given holiday to get sick.

We had a wonderful time at my sister's house. This kids are so cute. Little Enzo is just starting to say a few words. I can tell that he is a strong willed child. I pity my niece when he learns the word 'NO" She will never have any peace. Now he just shakes his head no but I can see temper tantrums in the waiting.
The girls are doing great. They are so loving and both beautiful young ladies. Growing up too fast for me. Lanie hits 10 in another week. Hard to believe. Maggie is her delightful self that is full of charm and devilish antics. I got some really nice presents.
Today I am just laying around and not doing anything. I do not feel well. I have tomorrow off as well. Unless I get my voice back I will be having even more time off.
Lisa, I am glad that you had a relatively good year. I agree, Hubert can skip another medical scare. Once was enough!
Crystal, so sorry about the flea mess. Just what you needed at this time of year --- NOT! Are you sure Jasper did not get them from Amanda's kitty?
Monica, it sounds like you will have a fun and interesting day. Enjoy those sales. Hope you find some great bargains.
Everyone have a great day.
Cat Lady
Fast forward to Christmas Eve Jasper is sitting on my lap and I see the same thing a piece of dirt move across his face. I remembered Amanda saying she saw the same thing. So I investigate and I see fleas!!!! So Jasper had fleas before I had Blaine at my house. Not to mention Jasper was a shelter cat and he probably had them all along. Which is why I flea bombed my house.
Also when I complained at Petsmart about how Jasper's vet said he had no fleas back in September...they explained that Jasper's fleas were probably in the pupa stage and there's no way to check for those.
I am just now checking in after what seems like a very long holiday.
Friday, Liv and I made ornaments to go with our neighbor gifts and they turned out beautifully. My girl is very talented, since she did 90% of the work. I showed her the idea and she ran with it!. I loved them so much that I think we will re-make them to hang on out scraggely branches (from my Aunt's funeral) as a future "Tree of Friendship".
Saturday, all the kids came home for a nice dinner and presents. Everyone was happy, and Riley was SO excited to about her hot air corn popper just like Liv and I use........it was a stretch to get her to take it home without using it. She DID wind up using it to make her breakfast yesterday......
Yesterday was TOO quiet here in the morning. Nothing to get up for. We had a big breakfast and then I took Liv to O'Hare. Turns out, hers was the ONLY flight delayed (on our terminal). I thought she was going to jump out of her skin with the waiting. It was hard to explain that that's just the way it is with travel........
Today, I heard that they have been shopping on Broaday and at the Macy's on 34th Street. They are heading back to her friend's for some rest and relaxation.
In the mean time, Todd and I exchanged our 8 year old mattress on warranty and went out to lunch. We are now home, not really sure how to "empty-nest"........
I will make the bed up and we will probably watch a move......SO exciting!
I wish everyone a fantastic evening!
Evening Everyone, I'm just finding the time and the ability to get on line after surgery Monday 12/19. Everything went well except my breathing.. The surgery seems to have stirred up the bronchitis's I had prior to surgery. So I'm coughing and having some labored breathing which is all under control now.
I have been eating pureed food and doing well. Christmas eve we had everyone (40 PP) over a usual, but thanks to my family I just sat in the chair and relaxed and enjoyed it all. It was weird to smell all the food cooking and what not and feeling sick to my stomach at times due to things I use to LOVE to smell.
Christmas day was quiet, my lil guy played his new video games while we watched and we watched a movie with my daughter and grand baby before they left to go to the boyfriends house.
I'm feeling pretty good and really cant wait to get the 'drain' out tomorrow. It has been slowing me down so much, being its right in the middle of my chest and makes it very difficult to get around or even to sit up straight.
Glad to hear every ones Christmas was a good one!!
