Wednesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I wonder how the weather is going to be today...it has been nothing but rain for days now.  BUT that's better than snow for days!!!!

It's been two days since I started the antibiotics for my pink eye.  It's time for the "clean up".  I have to clean my towels, pillow cases, sheets, Glasses so on....  All this right before Christmas!!!!  I don't need this extra work right now....Grrrrrr.

So today I have to go to Walgreens and I may try to go to Bed Bath and Beyond today....I don't know yet.  I want to get a pastry mat for my cookies.  I don't want to scratch up my nice new table.  I may also go to JcPenney for new pillows.  We shall see how I feel after work.

I feel so bad for you Crystal. Pinkeye really sucks. But look on the bright side, you could buy tourself an early Xmas present, and go get new bedding and towels. Faster then washing and drying  .

There is a dense fog warning for LaSalle County. Never happy when that happpens.

Got to leave for work in a few. It should be an average day, with getting out of work by 4. Then tomorrow, AND a 4 day weekend.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

Glad the pinkeye is clearing up.  It IS a pain.

I FINALLY got my new (to me) car.  It is the same as the other Sebring (mileage, interior, features) but it is a medium-dark gray/with a hint of blue color.  Brand new tires all around sealed the deal!

Now that the car is taken care of, I can get back to working on Christmas.  I think I will do some wrapping tonight.

Morning - I received the results from my testing. I am going for a second opinion I have the paperwork started to receive testing results/charting so I can take it with. I also will then have copies for when I fire him (he does not know it yet) and go to a new family doc. All this doc is interested in is making apts to get paid to discuss results when they can be relayed over the phone. "Oh, come on in and we will "look" at pictures and discuss the results." I do not even want to "look" at him. I do not want to go for an apt. so I had him tell me over the phone yesterday what was found and I told him I want to go for a 2nd opinion which my ins. will pay for as I have a very generous PPO. He also wanted to put me on cholesterol drugs and I already knew that my numbers were fantastic and made him read them to me. He says - "oh you are doing fantastic" - he is nothing but a GOLD DIGGER. I also have done research today and all that he told me on the phone yesterday is that it is very normal for a person my age and with my history of Type II Diabetes and high blood pressure. I saw the amt. that he charged my ins. for my Nov physical. I can only imagine what this last test will cost them. Times that by 6 because that is how many patients he had doing the test last Fri. Naturally, ins. co. reduce the rates, but still he has a lot of "coinage" in his bank account.

So, now that I got that off of my chest - we are taking the train back down to the Loop to the Christkindl Market one last time after work. Tomorrow I have PT for my knee. Yesterday I went for my first apt and will be going for 4 weeks, twice a week. Not too demanding and I am not sore today - yet. Let's see after lunch as I am going to be doing my at home stuff down in our gym here at work. I have an apt. with the hand specialist that my knee doc wants me to see about both of my hands on Jan. 9th. I am tired of going to docs! but look forward to hearing what the 2nd opinion doc says and seeing my new family doc.

I'm not liking my new doctor either.  He's not as bad your doctor but he's not as wonderful as my old doctor.  I loved my old doctor.  I told my daughter a person finds a doctor like him once in a life time...oh well.

Well another down and 1 day closer to Christmas.  Today was a tad bit slower at work.  At least I had some opportunities to get sips of water between calls.  I am fighting another sinus infection ... sore throat and stuffed up sinuses.  Yuk!

I got my car back last night and it runs like a charm.  I am so happy that Rick knew this mechanic.  It sure saved me a bundle of money.  Had I gone to my dealer it would have cost about $1500.00.  I am mad at my dealer.  I took my car in earlier this fall for noises it has been making and they told me it was my suspension system pump going out.  They said I could wait as it would be very expensive --- $800.00 for the part alone. Well, it turns out they misdiagnosed my problem.  It was actually my cooling pump going out.  Had I had it replaced when I took it in I could have savge a lot of money as it ended up with the serpitine chain breaking and causing further damage when the pump went.  GRRRR!!!     Who would have thought that your car dealer would misdiagnose a problem that completely???? So much for certified mechanics.  

Crystal, I am glad the pink eye is clearing up.  Dawn, enjoy your new car.  Chris, I am glad you are getting a second opinion.  It amazes me with how gulibble some people think we are.  Lisa, enjoy your time off!

Nancy I sure that there are people that bite at the worm that a doc throws out with an "urgent" diagnosis and do not do any further research to be their own advocate. Not me.

Sorry that you not feeling well b4 the holiday.

Crystal, I miss my old doc also. He and I got along well and he understood my needs.
