Saturday Roll Call

Morning from the North Woods. It has been an adventure as we are in our 3rd hotel. The first 2 were planned and then the rug got swept out from underneath us on Tuesday when Copa Cabana was sold and all guests had to leave. Nick the Greek up here seems to like to buy up places and then paint them in his national colors of bright white and cheap blue (color of the Greek flag) bought the hotel. I am just curious why he has not painted his personal house the same colors?! I know where the house is at and it is a pinky/beige. We refused to be put up in his Hotel Rome (waterpark hotel with lots of screaming kids) and we are to get a check refund (not holding my breath) for the balance. Hopefully it will not bounce. Might have to fight that one with the media out of Madison.

We did one store for black Friday - Blain's Farm & Fleet for some stereo headphones that Dave found on sale. We also window shopped in cute little downtown Baraboo. Notice I said "window shopped". I do a lot of my shopping on line or buy it when I see something during the year.

Supposed to have rain for the rest of the day. Oh well, there goes our walking. I refuse to walk in Wally World as it will probably be a zoo. I guess we will go to Home Depot instead. We have a method to our madness.

What is happening in your corner of IL?

Good Morning Christine.

It sounds like you and Dave have been having a holiday vacation from H. I know you are enjoying yourselves in spite of it. That happened to us in Branson one year. But it was before we went. We called to let them know that we would like to get there a day earlier then planned, and they didn't have ur confirmed reservation, The motel/hotel had been sold a few weeks prior, and they canned all reservations!

I spent Black Friday cleaning house, putting up the outdoor decorations, and going to dinner with friends. I also got my cards addressed. Today, I will go to Wally World and  Krogers. Will stop at the $ Store too.

It is rainy here too. They are saying we might have some white stuff tomorrow.

Have a great weekend,

Hugs,
LISA

From what we understand the sale deal had been in the works for the last 3 weeks. We want to know why they did not honor the holiday weekend guests.

Hello everyone

I spent the morning yesterday putting up the tree and the rest of the day keeping Jasper away from it!!!  I found him chewing on a tree light!!!  Now he's mostly batting the ornaments with his paw...but I shoe him away every time.  He will learn eventually.

Then around 6pm I went to JC Penneys because there were a couple things I wanted....for myself....my Christmas shopping is done.  If you wait till later in the day and you don't want any of the "popular" items then it's not crowded.  So I bought a pair of nice Isotoner gloves and pajama pants for $15...I did have a coupon.  I didn't wait in line and there were no crowds!!!  Online I bought the 9th season of Friends for $4!!!  I only have one more season to go and I have the full set!!!!  So I spent a total of $19 dollars on Black Friday...I'm a BIG spender!!!!

Today,  I have nothing going on...no plans.  I have laundry to do and I have some house cleaning to do.  But that is it!!!

Christina- the colors sound tacky...for a hotel anyway.  Hope you are happy with you are staying now.

See ya later...have a good day

Yeap, the colors are tacky. We are at the Hilton Garden Inn right now with a small two room suite. It is right across the street from the other one. AAAWWWWW, much better.

 Afternoon everyone!

It feels like evening as it is already dark outside but only 4:30!.  I am proud to say I have ALL of my Christmas shopping done without setting one foot into any stores.    AI love on line shopping.

Yesterday I averaged 3 calls an hour so it was B O R I N G.  I used my time to do Christmas shopping.  I got some pretty good buys and some of them I got to add corporate discounts to.  Today I finished up with some items at JoAnn fabrics who had their black Friday sales running all weekend.

Crystal,  I would look into some spray cat repellant if I were you.  I would not have constant arguments with Jasper.  You can get it at pet stores.  It has a name like NO or Off, or Scat.  It does not stain and you can safely spray your tree and Jasper will leave it alone.  I always have cat friendly ornaments on the bottom so they can take them and play.  NO tinsel.  It can kill!

Chris, I am so sorry you have had hotel issues.  I cant believe that a hotel would do that to you.  You would think they would want the business and returning customers.  I sure would persue that refund even writing The Problem Solver in the Chicago Tribune if it does not come through.

Lisa, it sounds like you are busy as usual.  I wish I had half your energy.  You can come put up my Christmas decorations any time.

Everyone have a great evening!

I remember the days of customer service (E-911 days) and not getting the day off after T-day. Never again will I work in that type of job.

This guy only cares about building his kingdom of properties and money in his pocket. The guests that were displaced are small potatoes.

Nancy-  I used no tinsle and I used shatter proof ornaments.  I just have to watch the cords and lights.  I sprayed them with bitter apple...it tastes nasty...I accidentally got some in my mouth.  Right now he is just pawing at the ornaments.

Hi all. It has been awhile since I have been on here. I have been sick for about 3 weeks now and it's really getting old. Today is the first day that I have felt close to my old self. It all started out with what I thought was a cold and just wouldn't go away. Ended up with a trip to the emergency room via ambulance because I woke up doubled over in pain from coughing. Turns out I have a hernia that I didn't know I had that was getting squeezed from all the coughing. The cough still isn't gone all the way, but the rest is better. Stomach doesn't hurt as much right now. I see a surgeon on Monday to find out what they want to do about the hernia. I am going to tell the surgeon that I am wanting to have WLS and see what happens. Maybe I can get it all done at one time. I don't think the surgeon here does WLS though (that would be too easy). The closest one that I have found that will take my insurance for RNY is about 2 1/2 hours from home. I have definitely over done it with not feeling very well. I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner to feed an army and then didn't have the turnout that I was hoping to have. I think I have leftovers for a month. And of course being the stubborn person that I am, I go to Wal-Mart at 10pm on Thanksgiving. Big mistake. Ended up sleeping all day yesterday again.

I am going to try to check in more. I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving.

I think you had mentioned the hernia a while back. Happy that you are feeling a little better.

More than likely the hernia surgeon will not do the WLS & hernia if he is not certified in the WLS field. It is best you wait for a doc that is qualified in that field to handle your WLS.

Enjoy the leftovers. Love em myself too much sometimes.
