Hello everyone

My plans yesterday changed but for the better.  Amanda called me yesterday at 10am to tell me that she decided to take the day off.  Long story short she has 5 vacation days to use and only 6 more weeks to use them.  So she used one yesterday.  So I went to pick her up and we had lunch at a place called Black Dog.  It's in downtown Urbana and VERY popular.  So popular that when we got there there was already 16 parties ahead of us.  So we decided to get it to go and it was a 40 minute wait.  So we walked around the Farmer's Market (which is now moved in doors in mall now).  We went back to my place ate lunch, watched TV (we watched My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding...OMG you have to watch this), and just hung out together talking.  It was a nice surprise.

So today I ride me bike to Walgreens for the newspaper.  I will do some cleaning up and laundry (didn't do it yesterday).  Then I will do my ornament project.

What are you doing today????

Well I have to get my break fat....see ya later.  Bye

Good Morning.

It is Sunday, the last weekend before the weekend before the official start of the holiday season.

I plan to stay home today, do laundry, and get ready for another work week. I also have plans to cook dinner, either a flank steak or a pork tenderlion.I am trying to use up all the meat in my bottom freezer, before I restock.

About yesterdays phone adventure, I was going to call Monica, when I reached Bloomington, when I found out my OnStar was out of minutes too.We somehow missed the email enforming us that we needed to renew. My phone, needed a new battery, and somehow the charger was bad also.

What are your plans today?

Hugs,
LISA

Steven-  I need to start to buy Made in USA only.  My produce and dairy is all local farmer raised organically.  But I we should be looking for the made in America lable.  Especially if we want our unemployment rate to go down.  Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Steven,

while I commend your decision to "buy made in USA", I find it interesting that you will boycott Target because you believe that they are French owned.  Target, in fact is not French owned.  Please see the attached link to Target's corporate information.

In your post you also mention that you are going shopping at "wally world".  Is your decision to shop Wal-Mart based on the ownership of the company by the American Walton family?  I think that if you examined the products sold at Wal-Mart, a great percentage of items sold are made in China and other third world countries.

I own a Japanese car, but my car was assembled in total in the United States, so while my car may be foreign, it was assembled in America, by American workers.  That is of a bigger concern to me than the global corporate ownership.  My car purchase put Americans to work.  In our global economy, the lines are blurred. For example, Ford Motor Company is an iconic American company, yet some models of their car line up are built in Canada and or Mexico, thus American company not employing American Workers.
It is very difficult to purchase American made only, and that includes clothes, cars, furniture, electronics and even fruits and vegetables. Best wishes in your venture.    Mary

Mary-  I have argued that very concept.  Just because a car is an American company doesn't mean American jobs and American people are making these cars.  Like you I own a Japenese car but my car was made in Kentucky!!!  I would much rather give my hard earn dollars to companies employing American people.

As far as fruitsm veggies, dairy, meats I am very lucky that I live in central Illinois, the heart of farm land.  There are so many places for me to chose from...to buy locally grown or raised produce and meat.  There's a co-op here that goes further and sells many locally made products.

I do shop at Walmart from time to time but I am morally opposed to Walmart after watching "The High Cost of Low Prices" but I can't stand on my soap box because I still go there once in awhile.
