Sunday Roll call
All of my cats have reacted differently to my trees. My first two would like to clime it -- ugh! I finally got clear fishing line and anchored it to the window so they would not knock it over. Sometimes I have done a small tree for the cats and they seem to know that it is their tree.
Mostly, they like to lay under the tree. They will pick ornaments off the tree so I always put nonbreakable ornaments on the lower branches so if they decide that something looks like a great toy, there is not a problem. I also do not put tinsel on my tree because that is extremely dangerous if they eat it.
For the most part they leave the tree alone except for an occassional stealing of an ornament for a play session.

people here do the type of WLS. I do read everyday the ILL forum your main topic is always food and other things. I think everyone on here really enjoys eating. My eating habits have change
for the better I eat healthy now. I used to be real bad before my surgery I used to eat alot of carbs
grease foods and sweets I don't miss my bad habits thanks to my surgery.
Please again excuse me i don't want to sound nasty about this I am just trying to understand everyone on here.
Thank you very much.

I had a couple of reasons for getting the band. One my best friend got the band and had great success. Also, I liked the short recovery time. Being a single person I am the sonly person bringing home income. I couldn't afford to be home more than 10-14 days tops.
Although, now I wish I could have gotten a sleeve or a DS (neither of which were covered by my insurance so it's just wishing). The band has been good to me I have had no complications and I have lost 150 lbs (I still have 50 more to go). I just think I would have been more successful with one of the other surgeries. But I shouldn't complain...I'm doing better than ever.
Edit to add
You can always ask us anything here...I don't think anything is off limits. You don't have to apologize for asking.
Also, know that bad habits seem to wax and wane. Don't be surprised if some of those old food demons rear their ugly heads when you least expect it. After almost 3 years post op I am still finding myself wanting to fall back into some bad habits and sometimes I fall but I just stand back up and dust myself off and keep on keepin on. There are no other people that will understand our struggle more than the people here. So keep on coming.
I had RNY after doing a lot of research. I too wanted DS but it was still considered experimental and my insurance would not cover it.
I have had semi succes with my RNY I lost 150 pounds but need to lose more. I guess I have adapted to my new life style this many years out and my surgery is no longer my major focus in my life. I still eat RNY friendly foods and live an RNY lifestyle, but it is just that -- part of my life. It is no longer separate so I do not focus on it. I am more than willing to help others and by coming here, I get support and a reminder of who I was and that I want to continue my lifestyle.

It is called life style changes - we all have a tool - whatever it is that we have with our various WLS that helps us control the amount of food we eat. We all used to be bad in whatever our own food demon was and still is. Everyone of us will live with food demons for the rest of our lives. Don't say that you will not because you will. We all live with different things in our lives and have different baggage because we have not lived in a bubble nor will we in the future. Note: we all try to make good food choices. Crystal eats organically, we (me and Dave) try to keep sugar and most fats out of our lives, others stay away from sugar or fat . . . And then there will be someone (Dawn usually) that will post a recipe of the day with it being something good and trying to stay healthy. We all enjoy foods but in smaller quantities.
So, think outside of the box because others have a reason for doing what they do.
So please roll with it and let the talk about food roll off of your back like a duck does with water. We post what we do here because that is part of the daily roll call question asking "what is happening in your corner of IL?" Or "What are you guys up to today?"

because if needed, it could be removed. Also for the shorter recovery time. I only took 10 days and was back to work. There are studies out there that say it doesn't mather which type you choose, you will all end up losing about the same. (within 5 years).
As for as food goes, it sometimes help you decide what to eat knowing what others are eating. We all have ur favorites. My own demons are sweets. I never have drank alot of soda or sweet juices, but hand me chocolate and ...........
As Christine said, we are all different, from different backgrounds.
