Monday, yuck. Oh well, at least in the northern 'burbs it is supposed to be sunny but cool. The sun always brightens the spirits even though we are stuck inside at work. I got one of my 3-4 times a year dreaded thing done yesterday and that was washing all the glass shelves in the display unit in the living room. I even managed to get a necklace strung at the end of the day.

Eating my bfast at the moments and then will start the rush to get to work, walk there and be able to punch in on time.

Later gators

Good luck with the dating, Crystal.

I know that I waited for what seemed like "forever" to find the right guy.  Unfortunately, I went thorugh lots of the wrong guys first.

I found Todd when I was not even looking!  Sending lots of good mojo your way!

I see a lot of their commercials on TV. You will find the right guy and I think that you have chosen a great place to start searching. You are a smart and cautious lady and you should do fine.

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

I am back to working in hell after a wonderful weekend.  Friday night, Todd and I tried a nice little restaurant that we have been looking at for over a year.  It was very good and we will go again.  Then, on Saturday morning, he surprised me with a trip to Madison for the Food & Wine show.  Two of our neighbor couples came along and we considered it a joint anniversary celebration!  Our anniversary was last week, one couple's is on Halloween and the other's, a week later!

We went to the show on Saturday and Sunday and stayed over in a hotel on Saturday night.  We went to one of our favorite places, Jolly Bob's, for appetizers then downtown for a late supper at "The Old Fashioned" where I has about a 1/4 of the BEST grilled cheese sandwich EVER!  After dinner, all of us old folks retired back to the hotel's hot tub by 10:30 pm and were sleeping before midnight!

The Food & Wine show was very interesting.  Saturday, it was terribly crowded and we just shuffled along between the booths, trying things.  They had lots of cheeses, wines, beers and liquors.  NOT the best for a WLS patient without a plan.......too much grazing.  I had a tasting plate and it made it easier to handle.  I would just take samples of things I was interested in tasting and set them on the plate instead of trying to consume everything as I passed.  This allowed me to be more choosy and not graze.

We received a wine glass as we came in, and we could try various wines, but they would pour about a half an ounce to an ounce into your glass to taste.  They had lots of water for rinsing and dump buckets.  I tried a few tasty wines, but not all.  There was also LOTS of battled water available.  There were lots of interesting things but Saturday was WAY too crowded for my liking.

We went back yesterday and it was much bettter.  Not NEARLY as crowded and you could actually move about.  While our party moved about and ate and drank, I chose to attend the cooking demonstrations.  I saw a wonderful woman whose business and TV show is called "White Jasmine".  She does Pakistani cooking and made a delicious and healthy meal in about 30 minutes!  It was wonderful and I learned a lot.  I will be visiting her web site and checking out her spices.  I also learned how to make Japanese dumplings filled with pork and shrimp!

Now, back to reality and hoping to get out at lunch to enjoy the weather while it lasts.

Everyone have a stupendous day!

Dawn, was Wollersheim Winery at the event that you went to? They are our favorite winery for Chardonnay. We are case club members with them. The dumplings sound wonderful.

The Prairie Fume is too sweet for me but I will drink it if it being served. It is an award winning wine and has been served at the White House. It is served in a lot of restaurants in WI. You can get it in those little 4 paks in some liquor depts. A drive up to the winery in Prairie du Sac is well worth your time. It is very nice and they grow a lot of the grapes there.

Good Morning Chris and IL!

Wow, busy weekend.  Had breakfast with a friend and she brought her 12 year old granddaughter and I brought Chloe.  After the initial shyness, they were glad to move to another booth and visit while my friend and I visited.  It was a lot of funl.

Later in the day, I decided if I was going to paint/seal a samll piece of wood on each of my windows, I prbly wouldn't get a better day.  SO....started that project.  It didn't take really long, and I was able to do 2 coats since it dried so fast, BUT, then I decided since I had to take the screens out (they are very easy) I might as well take them outside and hose them down for winter.  Chloe was such a big help.  She took them out and then I showed her how I wanted them hosded down, and she did that, while I then clean the grunge off the outisde of the window frame and THEN washed the windows.  Wasn't really planning on ALL that, but so glad it's done.  (Also squirted WD40 on each of the hinges.  They are roll out windows, so that helps keep them lubricated nicely!

Sunday, our church choir went to another church for a choir fest.  That was a lot of fun, but took up most of the day.  When I got home about 4, I just decided to veg out and pretty much did nothing the rest of the evening.

Crystal, good luck on your jump into the dating pool.  Take it slow and easy and enjoy meeting new people.

Dawn, the wine festival sounds great.  That is something I'd like to do.

Everyone have a super day.

Georgie
