Sunday Roll Call

Morning/day IL! I came down the stairs hearing rain on the roof (can't hear it in the bedroom due to the dormer attic). Hope it does not last too long. But it it does I have plenty to do in the house and need to get a few things at the grocery store and Target. I think I might also swing by the two resale shops and see if there is any jewelry I can snatch up to take apart for the beads for me to make other jewelry.

Making a pot roast for dinner today with the good veggies that go along with it. Maybe I will be able to get some fresh green beans. By turning the oven on we will get some warmth in the house as we have not turned on the heat yet. We like to see how long we can go with out it. It is a balmy 66 in here right now. When it gets down to about 62 then we break down and turn it on.

There were 160 stage people with a choir, vocals, band, video, stage team and production peoples. You could barely move in the green room. It is our church's 36 anniversary. Sorry, I was not really impressed with the service they put on. The church is going in a funky direction and we are not really sure we want to stay there.

Good Morning Everyone,

This is mylay back day, but you all know I can't just do nothing. I stained some windows this morning and did laundry. I will be making a chicken dinner later, since Monica and Scott are picking Morgan up today. We had a good day yesterday, between shopping and meeting our other Daughter, Annette and her love Rick for dinner at Turtles in Morris.

I did buy 2 large pots of mums for the front porch yesterday, as well as a trio of pumpkins to put out with the others I bought yesterday. The house is looking fallish.

I am going to make a St. Louis speciallty today, Gooey Butter Cake. In, fact, I may let Morgan make it, so she can learn the recipe.

Crystal, wow my finds for beads at the two resale shops seem meager compared to the purse that you found. I always get the warm fuzzies when you talk about your weekend(s) with Amanda and Charles. You were so looking forward to being with them - now you are there. Was the concert in that hall almost at the center of campus? We have been in that one that is really has wonderful acoustics.

Actually it's a small community orchestra for all ages.  They hold it at different locations during the year.  This one was at a Methodist church.  I did go to concert hall at U of I (called Kranert) before.  It is very impressive.  I remmeber thinking is my Amanda that good she plays at a place like this...wow!!!  I remember when Amanda first started to play the oboe....OMG...it was bad.  I had to go into my bedroom because it would hurt my head...hahaha!!!!  Now she sounds so beautiful.  You know she was almost a music major.

I will be posting some video from the concert on Facebook...everyone go listen and enjoy.

Oh and I get the warm fuzzies when I see Amanda all of the time.  One of these days I will get used to it.
