Monday Roll Call
Good Morning,
I am off to work shortly myself. Hubert is off today, and is already putting another new window in. One more to go, the one behind the desks and computers. I am sure that one won't be done today. Then 2 more rooms to prime and paint.
I was fairly lazy yesterday, couldn't get into anything.
A few more days of summer like weather, then rain :(. It has been great so far.

Good morning to all,
looks to be another beautiful fall day. wi**** would stay like this forever. I actually managed to sleep in today, well, 8 am, that is sort of sleeping in. Got my 30 min on my eliptical done, working on cup of coffee now, trying a sugar free sweetner, not to sure about it.
Weekend at work was very busy, worked in Peds ICU all weekend.
My daugher managed to breakup with her boyfriend over the weekend, i hope they eventually get back together, they were good for each other, but she is still so young and has alot of living to do yet. This is her senior year, and she is not ready to think about being married, and all that, she just wants to be a kid this last year before she has to think about college and all that.
well, now to figure out what is next on my list of things to do, a friend needs help moving some vehicles today, hope he makes up his mind so we can get it done, and then i can do something fun, maybe horseback ride sometime today.

Do you have kids? I'm thinkin you do by what you say. It is so hard sometimes to let them grow up. I know she is hurting right now, and i also know she will talke to me about all of this when she is ready, is hard watching her hurt. It seems like the years have flown by. I love watching the beautiful young woman she has grown into, but sometimes i truly miss my little girl. I know i can't make these up coming decisions for her, and she has to deal with whatever comes her way. I just always hope that i have given her the "tools" as i say, to make smart decisions. She is an awesome young lady who is smart, caring, absolutely gorgeous, and she doesn't even realize it. I see great things for her, and hope she doesn't do all the screwy things i did at her age. lol, o well, off my soap box, and i'll put away the kleenex, thanks

Hi Kristi, I always have to chuckle whenever anyone says that they sleep in like you said to "well, 8 am". For me sleeping in usually is 530ish AM. I should have been a farmer that had to get up for livestock. I truly am my parent's child. They both were early birds like me. I usually wake up at 4am w/o an alarm even earlier when going on vacay again w/o an alarm.
I admire anyone like you that works in Peds ICU. Our SIL worked for years in the Army in the NICU all over the world during her career. She still loves babies even though she has moved over to the administration side of the hospital.

Your cruise sounds like fun, never been on one, my husband and i usually go on the all inclusive vacations in mexico. Someday i'd like to do a cruise, i would love to do an alsaka one, i hear it is beautiful, when i retire probably.
I'm a respiratory therapist so i work in all the ICU in the hospital, but PEDS is my home for the most part, I did work in NICU for almost 4 years, but because I chose not to fly, they won't let me work there anymore. But i enjoyed it while i was there, and still miss working there.
Was your daughter in the medical CORPS i'm guessing? My daughter has mentioned the Navy nursing corps, after looking into it , it seems like an awesome thing to do,especially if it helps pay for her education, she obviously wants to be a nurse, she would like to get her APN eventually. But she is young, a senior in high school, with so many options available to her. She just broke up with a boyfriend, which if they stay broke up, could change a lot of her future decisions. Although she does have a horse she is responsible for, i don't think she will go to far from home for awhile. At least i hope not. lol

I do not have any kids. The person I was talking about is my sister in law. She was an Army brat and then was full time Army for her career. She put in her 20 yrs and is now working in Dallas, TX at a private hospital.
My DH wanted to go on the AK cruise for our 30th but I said no - that is for old people. We went to Hawaii on a cruise instead. We go on a "biggie" trip at each 5 yr point for our anniversary, the 35th we went to Louisville, KY. Our 40th is coming in 3 yrs and we are going to the Holy Land with Moody radio here in Chgo.
