Saturday roll Call
Hello everyone
Where is everyone...busy I guess.
Well I woke this morning and went to the farmer's Market, and grocery shopping. I also painted my bathroom. Of course I had to make it extra difficult because I wanted stripes. So I painted some of it last night...then this morning using a level I taped off the next section and painted that a different color. I painted the bathroom in a light butter yellow with a light powder blue stripe. It's very pretty and Springy. Next I have to get my den going.
Well tomorrow is 9-11 and I still tear up when I see it on TV. Where were you when it happened???
I was at work, working overtime (surprise). One of my coworkers walked in and said "did you hear that a plane hit the World Trade Building!!!" Of course we hadn't heard. So we put on the radio. We all thought it was some weird, horrible accident (the second plane hadn't hit yet). I was saying some thing mechanically must have been wrong with the plane, because how can you run into such a big building...when all of the sudden the announcers on the radio were going crazy....the other plane hit!!! And we all sat there staring at the radio because we all knew this was a horrible attack. All day long we heard the reports on the radio. I had all of these images built up in my head...usually what you imagine is usually worse than what actually happened. So I rushed home and put on CNN and for the first time my vivid imagination didn't go far enough....it was worse than what I imagined. It was like a scene from a movie. I stayed up all nigh****ching the news.
I hope everyone has a good day. See ya later.

Revision on 04/19/13
Good Early afternoon.
I have been busy this morning trying to decide whaat to take to Southern Illinois next weekend for 2 parties.I finally decided on a black pants with a black short sleeve top and a long sleeve black jacket for Sat. night, and a brown top and pants with a left pattern short sleeve sweater for Friday night. I will decide on the rest tomorrow.
Hubert and I were both still home before leaving for work. I was getting ready to leave when he called me in to see it. Then, we seen the other plane hit. He thought it was a film of the first one, and I said no, the angle was wrong. Plus at that monment there was no smoke or fire. I had to leave, and I put the radio on and listened all the way to work. We didn't have a radio in our area, but the clients would tell us what was happening. By the time I got home,I knew all air traffic was stopped, and I stopped to see a neighbor,We were sitting outside, when we seen Air Force One go over. It took us a second to realize that was what it was.
My plans today are nothing. I am chilling out. I did get supper started, chicken and dumplings. It sounded good.
Stay safe,
Hugs,
LISA

Afternoon. We have been up and to the Sandwich Fair, had bfast there at one of the church food places, lunch at Fay's BBQ and walked all over the place. We are now home resting up and will walk down to "Drunk Fest" AKA Oktoberfest. The Westin hotel here in town does do a fantastic job with the German food. We do not drink beer so we enjoy a wine well after we eat. There is a small Christmas ornament and German wares shop that is set up. They are from Cederburg, WI. We have been in their store, spoke with them and they recommended a Christkindle Market to us to try in Elkhart Lake, WI which we did last Dec. I introduced myself and the woman remembered me talking to her last year. We also had a chuckle over the fact that my co-workers thought that their pickle ornament was a chili pepper and how I had to teach them the history behind hiding a pickle ornament on a Christmas tree.
In addition to what I mentioned on FB about my deputy chief running down the hallway right after the 1st tower wa**** and those that could leave their work area went back to the kitchen to watch the news coverage. I watched the live coverage of the 2nd tower going down. My chief sent all non essential personnel home at 1pm. It was so errie (SP?) to not hear jets landing at O'Hare. A day or two later I remember the fighter jets going overhead because there was a plane that was flying in restricted air space after the no fly zone was declared. I had not heard a sonic boom since I was a kid and that is something you never forget. I knew exactly what it was when it happened. We have a friend that lives in NJ and formerly from White Plaines, NY that lost a cousin in one of the towers. It is still a raw wound for her family as she has a very tight Italian family.
Onto a few things that need to be done before we go to my sister's party tomorrow. Later Gators!

Afternoon Everyone!
I slept in this morning --- aah!! Was up til 3 am last night so it felt good to sleep in. Today I have talked to both of my sisters and have read a lot of 9/11 coverage on the internet. I watched clips from the dedication ceremony of the memorial at Shanksville PA and was surprised that they still need $10 million to complete this memoria. I then went hunting and made a donation. It is a crime that this memorial for all those heros has not been finished!
On 9/11 I heard about the first plane crashing into the towers while I was driving to a school to teach for the day. At the time, they thought it was a small prop plane that had had engine problems. I shrugged it off. The class teacher went to the office about 9:30 that morning and came back with the news. She turned on a radio in the classroom and we all listened for awhile. But then she turned it off and back to teaching we went. I was sick to my stomach all day and could not wait to get home. After seeing the news from that day, I went to church that night. Then came back home and like Crystal was glued to the TV. I am surprised at how much it still hurts 10 years later. We lost so much that day. I just cry over the stories that are told. I hope we never forget.
No plans for the remainder of the weekend. I put chili in the crockpot for dinner tonight. Sounded good to me.
