Doctor in Rockford

Could you guys give me a name of a good doctor who you have had success with to give you the clearance for surgery? I am having surgery in 5 months and want to get a jump on it and my dr. has retired.

Unfortunately I dont know any good doctors in Rockford area.  I will say I love Dr. McClellan!  She is fantastic.  I was going to recommend her to you as a surgeon but see you already found her!  I love my doctor in Peru IL but dont know if you want to commute this way.  It is only an hour drive.

This is just a thought - most hospitals have a list of doctors that have privledges at their hospital and they can try to make a recommendation for you and your particular needs.

Sorry it took so ling but I was having a BRAIN FREEZE and could not pin down the exact names.

I do not know who your insurance is through, but I have had two wonderful caregivers throughout my journey with WLS.  Unfortunately, neither is covered by my insurance any longer. Last I heard, they were both still in the Rockford area.

The woman who was/is very supportive throughtout my pre-op journey that helped me get approval was Kathleen Meade, NP.  During the 5-6 years that I saw Kathleen, I never even MET the supervising doctor in their practice.  I can't say enough good things about her.

After Kathleen left the practice, I saw Dr. Jennifer Guffey.  I liked her even MORE than Kathleen, if that was possible.  She is young, thourough and VERY SUPPORTIVE.  Alas, she also left and now I am struggling to find a PCP that I like.
