Saturday Roll Call

Good Saturday morning! I think I have my "groove" back on and have most of my energy back. Work was not too bad this week but I am still shaking my head over the girl I work with. Things do not change. Oh well life goes on.

I have to get myself out into the garden and water and pick today. I ignored it all week and I sure there is some pretty ripe or spoiled tom's out there. Oh well, I was overloaded as is. Not much else for me.

What is happening in your corner of IL?

Good Morning,

Well, the Gods don't want me to clean up the garden. I really meant to get out there yesterday and pull out some old stuff, so I could start to "redesign" the space. But, by the time I picked up the house, and did some other stuff...
i had to go back to Krogers for Diet Dew for the SIL yesterday, and I need to stop out there again for a roast for tomorrow. I NEVER go to the store this often. I hate going even once a week, but 3 times?

I did get the side door painted yesterday. I ended up with a ranch red, instead of the bright red I wanted. It was a compromise
.

This Morning I want to get to the farmers market, and stop to get some crab grass killer. We sodded the front yard last summer, and dang if there isn't crab grass in it. Lisa is not happy about it.

Crystal, enjoy your new patio set.

Chris, nice to see you. Were you still going to plan a meet and greet?

Nancy, have a good class this morning.

Debbie, enjoy your weekend. Same to you Sandy.

Dawn, i am sure you are doing something fun with your kids this weekend.

Have a great day.

Huggers,
LISA

Lisa-  it looks like thanks to the Comcast guy not being here yet I will not be going to the Farmer's Market this week.  This makes me sad because I really love it there.

Lisa, good to be here and have more energy. I still have the meet and greet in the back of my mind. I had originally planned on Oct 1 but we have a special invite to a weekend event for the 125th celebration of Moody Bible Inst. and we accepted it. I was thinking that Columbus Weekend might be good. That is Oct 8/9/10. I will put it out and see what everyone says.

Hello everyone

I have been out in my soon-to-be-garden.  It's in worse shape than I thought.  It is sooo overgrown with weeds and there's rocks and garbage and old mulch in the flower bed.  I decided to just dig up the whole flower bed and start from scratch.  So I dug up the top 5 inches or so and added some nice top soil mixed with organic fertilizer.  It looks nice and healthy.  I am pooped.  It's hard digging up all that old mulch and crap and hauling it away.  I also unwittingly dug up an ant hill and got bit several times....but that ant hill is history now.  I have so much more to do.  But at least the two flower beds in front are ready for flowers.  Now I have to work with the area around the patio and then along the driveway.  I will start that tomorrow morning.  As it will start getting to hot today.

I have some running around to do today.....after the Comcast guy comes and gets me some decent internet.  Yeah!!!  I also joined the gym yesterday and I also bought 4 training sessions. After it gets too hot outside to work I will be inside trimming the walls...so I can paint.  I feel painting the edges is the hardest part.

Then Wayyyy later I will relax for the evening.  I am soooo tired.

See ya guys later.  Bye

Crystal, you might have not been exercising at the gym but you have unwittingly been doing some "resistance" training with the yard work. Keep up the good work. Would love to be there and give ya some pointers.

Hope the Comcast install goes smoothly. Enjoy your new digs! (garden and house, LOL)

Christine-I'm glad you're feeling like your old self.  I tell you the one thing I like about my new place is there doesn't seem to be a lot of that back-stabbing, brown nosing going on here.  Next year hopefully I will have tomatoes to pick in my garden.  I will be asking you for lots of advice

Crystal, yes the old self is a work in progress. We got home from the grocery store about an hour ago and I am starting to wilt again. Been making dinner for later and am wondering when I will feel okay to go outside.

My work has always been like that (seen almost 32 years of different personalities). It goes with the territory of a PD, power happy people and the ones that are the pets of the higher ups. The rest of us all laugh and call them names behind their backs. Fortunately there is only 2 of them.

You can ask any questions you may like of me. If I do not know the answer - you know me I will research if for you. Lisa is also very good at gardening and tomatoes. I like the U of I Extension website for info. Here it is: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/state/hort.html

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

It is a pretty day outside but still HOT!  I am done with my class except for the follow up paper work.  That and an nap may be on the agenda for today.  I also want to work on my patriotic wall hanging.

Chris, I am glad you almost have your groove back.  Just dont overdo it or as you discovered you will wilt fast.  I never want to take the time to heal after surgery.  I just want to be back to normal -- NOW!

Lisa, I am with you.  I hate weeks that I have to go to the store more than once.  I always spend so much more money even if I am running in for "only" one item.  I can't believe you paid for sod and got crabgrass!  I sure would be talking to the landscape company!    Sod is expensive and you should be getting quality grass.

Crystal, it sounds like you got a lot accomplished.  Sometimes it is best to just start over.  When I did that in one of my beds, I had a robin that stood near me and was very excited every time I dug up a worm.  He kept encourating me to find more!  I tried to tell him I was not a free meal finder.    You will really enjoy the results of all your efforts.  I hope you got your comcast installed today.

Everyone have a great day!

You guys south of I80 must be hotter then us up here in the NW 'Burbs.

Nancy, you should talk about giving free meals out. You not only love the birds you love the cats.  Don't you feed all of the neighborhood cats and their friends?
