Monday Roll Call
Good morning Illinois!
To those of us going to work today have a great day. If you are staying home enjoy this beautiful day out there!
For me, summer is over. Back to school I go. I personally love the beginning of the school year. Ok, I am lucky, I love my job! This year I am getting a second asssitant. She and I already have an excellent work relatiionship and she has knowledge in the area of wheelchairs that goes beyond me. I am very fortunate to have her.
I will have the same 6 students as last year, yeah! This group is just so happy plus they laugh at my goofy behavior.
Well off to the showers. Have a great Monday all!
Debbie

Good morning,
Deb, have a great first day back. I will be joining you in 2 weeks, with a training day next week.I am a social worker for a non profit, our program last 9 months a year.
The roast yesterday was fabulous! I will be making pulled pork today out of the leftover.
Today, I will see the specialist about the dizziness, Also doing some errands in Ottawa. I really need to get bird seed. The little thives are eating 2 to 3 feeders in less then 2 days. But it is great to watch them. We also have groundhogs. Hubert trapped one on Friday, and moved it over to the river, then I was looking out this morning, and another one is out there. We will have to set the trap again.
Crystal, have a great first day at your new job.
Huggers,
LISA

Hello everyone
Well today is my first day of my new job...wish me lots of luck. I am hoping I like the people and the environment. The work will be pretty much the same...I mean accounting is accounting no matter where you go...so this part is the same.
Yesterday I made meatloaf and mash potatoes for dinner. There was more than enough so when Amanda and Charles came by Charles had some and Amanda had the mashed potatoes. It's nice having them so close by. It's also nice being so close to work. I don't have to leave till 7:40.
Debbie- Have fun o your first day of school. I always loved the first day of school. You have all new school supplies and clothes. It's nice
Well I better get going and get ready for work. See ya guys later.

I did a crash and burn with my energy yesterday. I knew it would happen eventually. I always do too much, too soon. After I cut up the roast and put it all in a container in the fridge I ended up sleeping first for 2 hours, rolled over and slept for 2 more hours. I was even able to sleep through the night after that. I am still a little tired and we decided to wait to go to the garden until tomorrow morning because we did not get up in time to make connecting trains.
I am straightening up my cluttered house and then a little later will go to Joann to look at beading materials, that is about it in a nut shell.

ps - the roast was fantastic. It is great hot or cold, as a meal with the veggies, eaten by the slice or on a sammie!

OK guys I have been here for half a day...every one seems very friendly. I am very confused about the work so far. But that's to be expected. I came from a place that I knew my job inside and out very well. So this not knowing my job thing is kind of irritating. I will catch on soon enough.
I have my own office and the benefits are awesome. I came from a place that I had to use my vacation time if I got sick (like last December when I used all of my time when I got strep). Well here I get paid for sick time!!! Yeah!!! No more worring about "oh no if I get sick I won't get paid!!!"
My new boss seems very nice and he wants to take me to lunch tomorrow to celebrate my new job.
Only ting is it's soooo quiet here compared to my last job. OMG it's worse than a library...maybe I will need to shake things up a little (after they get to know me of course).

Good afternoon Debbiw and the rest of Illinois!
Happy first day back Debbie!
Lisa---sounds like you had a great weekend. I have never been to a State Fair and would like to go sometime. The girls are going to the county fair tomorrow.
Crystal---good luck, I hope you are loving the new job as much as you are loving the rest of your new life!
Chris---sounds like you had fun recording that show. I hope your medical issue is easily fixed.
Steven----if the tutorial does not help, I seem to remember Googling "avatar" to get help sizing my picture so that this site would accept it.
I had an interesting weekend. Amber and I went into Rosemont to stay over in a hotel because we were going to pick up Olivia's friend Sunday morning. We stopped at Trader Joe's on the way in and wound up never leaving the room. We had a suite and plenty of food and drink, so we stayed in and talked and talked and talked, then rented an in-room movie before bed.
In the morning, the girl's plane was delayed for 2.5 hours, so we went to breakfast then picked her up. She is from NYC and it is like having an alien from another planet among us. When we got just past Shaumburg, she was amazed because there "are no buildings". She could not believe all the corn and REALLY could not believe how "NOTHING" was out by where we live. We took her through a town of 2000 and she could not get over it. THEN she saw our village of 350! Culture shock for sure.
The REALLY STRANGE thing about this visit is that I have not spoken to any adult....her father, mother or grandmother! They put her on a plane trusting that she was going where she said and that I would pick her up and take her back in on Friday. (Which I WILL, but.......) I find this REALLY ODD, but then again, I do not live in NYC. She has contact with them via text and cell phone, but even though I have offered numerous times, they seem content not to speak directly to me. WIERD! She is very nice, if a bit privleged. They are home today doing chores around the house and watching movies. Culture shock again, I am sure! She seems to like it though.
They are going to the Fair tomorrow and the water park later in the week.
So, beside my usually boring work, that is what is happenin' out here in the sticks!
Everyone have a fabulous day!
