Happy Sunday IL! I see we have some sleepy heads here today, including myself. I need to get out and pick tom's out of the garden today. We were going to go to the Chgo Botanic Garden but my knee and Dave's hips are hurting today so we will hold off until Monday or Tuesday.

Nancy, getting new storage cabinets is always nice.

No plans for today. I am to see a specialist tomorrow for this dizziness.I think i am going to make Nancy's pork roast for dinner tonight.

Hello everyone

I am just being lazy today and enjoying my new cable. 

I do have a bit of news and a serious question.  Well I was bored yesterday and I was looking through old pictures of my mom's.  I found a particular picture of interest.  I know I have mentioned that I was raised by a man that wasn't my biological father.  Well something I never mentioned is I also have a half brother.  My mom had two pictures of him when he was an infant.  I have tried to find this person on facebook several times.  Well last night I noticed on the back of the pictures my mom wrote his name... I was spelling the last name wrong.  So I tried to search using the correct spelling and I found someone that fit the criteria (he was from Illinois and was 10 years younger than me).  I decided to send him a message and see if it is him.  Well OMG!!!  He got back to me and it IS him!!!  Now I'm worried because I really didn't think this through.  What happens if he doesn't know his father had another kid???  What should I do or say???  Should I just come out and say "hey I'm your long lost sister???"  Oh maybe I shouldn't have let my curiosity get the better of me.  OMG!!!  My life is such a soap opera.  How did I turn out so normal...oh no what if he's not normal???  It would be nice to have a brother.  I'm serious...tell me what you would do???  If your on Facebook go on my profile and look up Jim Chaloupka...that's him.

Ok, I would ask some questions, like why did you come back at me.

Then, go for it. If he doesn't know anything, send him the picture, both front and back.

Give him information on your father, that he would know, or ask him about his father. Such as Grandparents name, where he was raised, anything that will connect you.

We are in the process of trying to find my cousins birth family. It is a slow process to verify stuff.

Lisa, you sparked an idea for us with Nancy's recipe for the pork roast. We went to the store for a few things and it included the ingredients for the roast dinner. Thanks!

Crystal, well I think that the ball is in his court now. It more or less is now he that can reach out to you if he wants to. I would just handle it with the story that you told us here and take it calmly. Start thinking it through as to what to say and do. I am a firm believer that God opens doors and windows to His children for a reason. There might be a reason for him to know you, health wise, curiosity, need to have a connection with family. You name it. Just take it one step at a time as he might be just as normal as you. You can render a decision as to what his personality is by getting to know him, hearing his prior history, his current family and work life, where he lives, children if any, his interests.

I will be praying for you that you can approach this with an open mind and make wise decisions as to how you want this to go.

Today is the end! Snif, snif, snif! Tomorrow the alarm goes off and so must I! Where did my summere go? No complaints, but OMG did it go fast!
Christine - yum on the toms. Nothing from my two little plants this yr. Oh well.
Lisa - enjoy the roast. I need to make one this week. I haven't had one in months.
Crystal - how exciting and scary to have found family. I being an adopted child, have often wondered about my birth family, what did they look like, where are they etc. Take this slowly. Just talk and let God direct this. You will know if this feels right. Best of luck with this new adventure.

Debbie, I am curious as to the location that you have your tom's in. Tom's need at least a minimum of six hours (8 or more is better) of direct sun a day. They can be in containers but need regular watering from the bottom is the best. If they are in the shade too much, get too much sun you will only get foliage.

Nancy - just to let you know your recipe for the pork roast is smelling mighty good! Can't wait to taste it.

Nancy, I can agree. I just walked by the  slow cooker, and now I am hungry. I made jello to go with it, and probably a tomato cuke salad.
