Happy Saturday folks!

Hopefully we will get a little of the rain that is predicted but I am not going to depend on the weather people I am going to have to water the veggies. The onions like this weather as it is time for them to start drying out.

Hello everyone

Those on Facebook know how things have been going. After the initial worry the move went fine. My new place is so nice. I'm pretty much organized as far as I can without furniture. I will be ordering book shelves, because in my 2nd bedroom I will have 2 walls of book shelves (this going to be my den).

Yesterday Amanda took me to the co-op and I bought all kinds of food. I also went to the Meijer that is only down the street from me. I had to buy a shower caddy because there was no where to put your soap and shampoo...and if you're like me you have lots of things in the shower. So I needed a caddy. We also went to that huge park and it is huge. There are several trails and the one we walked was 1.6 miles (I think). Anyway, it's a great place to go biking I can't wait to buy a bike!!! Oh and one thing I noticed is out here the cicadas are SOOOO loud. We were walking and I had to raise my voice so I could be heard!!! I already met one of my neighbors. The lady across from me I saw her but I haven't met her...she looks like a nice grandma type.

Today I get my cable hooked up. I was supposed to yesterday but they screwed up and sent them to my old address and they got my phone# wrong!!! So today I will have cable. But before that and right after I write this...I am going to the farmer's market. It's supposed to be really nice. I can't wait!!! Other than that my intentions today is to get my garage organized. I bought shelving and I need to get that organized. I am also going to paint my front door. Everything inside is so nice and new but....the front door is all dirty and scuffed. It stands out because everything else is so new and pristine. So I bought a small can of paint and I am washing the door and painting it. I could have maintenance do it for me but they use that cheap flat paint. I bought this nice exterior paint that is supposed to resist dirt. So my paint wins. The maintenance guy is also going to be replacing all of my blinds...not sure when. I really have a nice size patio so I can't wait to get patio furniture and a GRILL!!! Oh how I have wanted to grill. I also can't wait to start my landscaping. There is even a small 4x3 patch I can have a veggie garden next year.

I agree with Christine...Stephen and Amher...come out, come out where ever ya are!!!!

Well I better get going to the farmer's market. See you guys later. Bye.

There was an article in the Daily Herald a short time ago about the cicadas and they were saying they are so loud because of the hot and wet weather that we have had. Here is the link for the article.

Good morning all!
Crystal - sounds like you and you move are going well.  When do you go to work?  Hope today goes well for you.
Christine - how exciting!  To be apart of the recording.  I would love that.  You will have to let me know when it is on air so I can listen to it.

Me!  Today starts the Gurnee Days fun.  My daughter is in the family play and we have three showings today.  I tend to stay and help out and keep the audience happy.  Plus, hey I am her mom and I need to be there for her.  Then tonight will be the fire works.  We tend to hang there, have dinner, look around and just have fun.  Hopefully it will not rain everything out.
Tomorrow, there will be the annual parade, another drama showing and then, I am getting Baptized!  I am taking the plunge, so to speak.  I am excited, last time I was baptized I was a baby!! But this is my choosing and I am happy to be joining this wonderful church.  The name is Village Church of Gurnee.  They are a missionary denominational church.  Great programs for the kids and basically everyone.  I am in the choir and I love it.

Hope all have a great weekend!

The farmer's market was really nice.  I bought all kinds of stuff.  You have to remember I haven't really done any groceries because of the move so I have to restock my fridge (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

I bought-
Pear Jam
Strawberry Jam
Apple Butter
2 loaves of bread
tomatoes
jalepeno peppers (I'm making homemade salsa...yummy)
serrano peppers
garlic
lime
potaoes
apples
bison meat
turkey sausage
I also got a beef casserol.

now the bad stuff
I got 2 sugar cookies
and a cup cake!!!

Most of it was organic and locally grown.  I will be going back weekly.  There are some really nice jewlery makers there too.  I saw some earrings I thought would be perfect for Amanda...already thinking of Christmas!!!

There is a real nice apple orchard called Curtis Orchard.  Its a u-pick farm with a lot of other fun things to do in the fall.  You are also not to far from Arcola and Arthur which is Illiniois Amish Country.  A nice u-pick pumpkin patch is called The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL.  This place is amazing in the fall.

Good Morning.

We really had a fun day yesterday at the Fair. It was nice to go to again, but it is so so big. We seen the Jeff Dunham Show. It was great.

BTW, if anyone has problems walking, they do rent the power scooters and wheelchairs.

I did try the Chocolate Covered Bacon. It was different, but good. Not sure if I would buy it again, but for once, it was great.

I am going to have to get Morgan up shortly, so I can take her to her dads house. She is wiped out too.

Have a great day,

Huggers,
LISA

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well, Chris got it right, I slept in today and it felt soooo good!  Nothing like a long nights sleep to restore you.  Today Rick and I are reorganizing things around the house.  Things are now in the new cabinet I bought for the kitchen.  Dang, that thing holds a lot!  It is nice to be able to store more in my kitchen!

Chris, that sounds like fun to do a recording at the Moody Institute!  How did you and Dave get involved in that?  Have fun.  Christmas in August is a wonderful idea!

Crystal, It sounds like you found your way out of the boxes!  How wonderful to have a Meijer and a park right next to you!  Monica mentioned Curtis Orchards but also the best apples come from the U of I orchards!  I love those apples and there is nothing to compare to them.  They are from the experimental farms.  You used to go to their farm south on 45 just beyond douglas curve to get them  Ask around and see if they still sell the.  Your farmers market finds sound yummy!

Debbie, I hope you have fun at Gurnee Days.  That sounds like a good time!  Congratulations on finding a church home that sounds just right for your family.  That is so important!  Remember your baptism.  It will be a special moment.

Lisa, I am glad you had a great time at the State Fair.  That place is indeed huge!  I am sure you are going to be sad to see Morgan go.  Enjoy your weekend!

Ahmer and Steven and Sandy,  Come out come out where ever you are!
