Friday Roll Call

 Good Morning Everyone,
Well is finally Friday again. i have a hair appt. this Sunday. I have my friend tale some picures of me so I can get them posted.

Hello everyone

I am sitting here relaxing before going to my last day of work.  Ahhh....that sounds so nice.  I worked out for the last time last night with my friends.  

Today my day will be filled with getting everything tied up and finished for my last day of work.  Then after work we are going out to my good bye party.  I won't be home till late.  I also want to stop at Meijer to pick up some groceries.  I will be buying just enough to get by.  The fridge is almost empty.  

Then starting tomorrow no more fun...I got to get this place ready for the movers!!!  I have lots of stuff to lug out to the dumpster.  Did I mention I can't wait till this is all done.

Steven-can't wait to see the pictures. 

Lisa- how did the wallpaper hanging go?

I need to get ready for my last day of work!!!  See ya later.   

Crystal, Congrats on the beginning of a new adventure in your life.  Enjoy your party tonight.  How did you ever come out on getting rid of your furniture by donating?  Any luck with a group to pick it up?

You will be SO happy when you get moved and settled.  Best of luck to you as you prepare.

I am lucky as someone wants most of it.  The only thing I have to worry about is the desk, chair, and TV!!!!

Good morning Steven and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today after staying up late to welcome my boys home.  I am glad to have them back and they are FULL of storries.......most of which need to wait until later as I was very tired by the time they arrived.

We are also having some "drama" with Liv.  Poor girl.......she had her first "official" boytfriend.  He even came over two weeks ago to speak to her father to ask permission to "go out" with her.  He seems like a very nice kid and polite......and since he had the courage to face Todd, he was givien our blessing.

Last Sunday, he came over to watch movies.  Todd and David were in Florida.  I went upstairs to look something up on my computer and when I came down........he was LAYING ON TOP OF HER ON MY COUCH.....kissing her or something.  He jumped up and across the room.  I told them that I was disappointed to see that and to keep their hands to themselves.  Besides that, I did not say much else as I wanted to wait and ask Liv WHAT was going on.

Monday night, her and I talked about it and she said, "he is always doing that.......trying to kiss me and stuff.  It annoys me.  I keep telling him that we can have fun without being so physical all the time."  I offered to talk to the boy's parents, as he might just be inexperienced and doesn't know any better.  I call the mom and explain that we are not angry, we just would like them to ask their son to be less physical with Liv.

Long story a bit shorter........apparently the SH** hit the fan at the boy's house.  The dad yelling, the mom crying.  The dad telling the boy he is lucky we didn't call the cops (?) and that he needs to break it off right now!!!

Liv is hearbroken, of course.  Problem is......I keep telling her that SHE is RIGHT.  She DERSERVES to have her physical space respected.  It is just very hard to see her so sad.  Hopefully, it will not last too long.  I just hope that this will not teach her that she should keep quiet about any issues like this that may arise in the future.  I will continue to tell her this and hope for the best.

OOps, Dawn, I missed reading your post!  Was not ignoring you.  You were totally in the right.  My opinion, kids that young do NOT need to be going so far, so fast (am I too old fashion?  I hope not)  I think that sex is so prevalent with this age now, with songs, what they see, etc, that many think "this is what I have to do even if I dont' want to, cause evidently everyone else is."  Well, WRONG!  Good for Liv in feeling uncomforable and I hope she continues to speak up.  Keep those lines of communication and positive reinforcement open. 

Ok, off my soap box!  LOL.  Sorry about what happened, but it also might be a really good wake up call for the young man.  What happened to holding hands as a first and lengthy first step?  Am I showing my age here????  Oh well.

Hope all is well and Liv is ok.

Oh Dawn you definitely did the right thing.  As you know sometimes we do things when we are too young, thinking that we ARE old enough.  That's why I was pregnant at 15!!!!  I always told my daughter don't do anything, unless you're ready to pay the consequences.

I felt it was the right thing, it is just hard seeing Liv so upset.  I know she will be better off in the long run.......the family does not seem to share our values!

Crystal....since I was also married and pregnant at 15, I have had that conversation with all my kids.

Lisa, you've been busy....did you find out anything about going back to work/funding?  Hope that all works out.

Nothing exciting going on this weekend.  Chloe is here for half the weekend then home and she will be home until Thurs.  She is starting 6th grade and has some mini seminars to attend at the her "new" (to her) Jr. High school.  Geez, where does the time go?

I will surely miss her when she is not at my house during the week.  I love to have her around. Roxie, will miss her even mroe, I'm afraid!! LOL

I posted on FB but not here, the Paul McCartney concert was PHENOMENAL.  He/his band did such a great job.  It was tons of fun.  Chloe and I went to the Disney Store, AMerican Girl. Lego place, and saw the Marilyn Monroe statue.  THen went to Millenium Park to see the Bean.  It was VERY hot, but we all had a great time.  You can see my Bean and MM pics on Facebook.  Friend me if you haven't.
