Thursday Roll Call

Morning/day IL.

It is nice and quiet here at IPD and cool in the building. Yesterday it was pushing 80 in my office. The AC units needed to be cooled down with a hose.

I have support group this evening and then I sleep fast overnight for my procedure tomorrow morning. Can't wait for this to be fixed.

Hello everyone

I am actually freezing cold right now.  I don't know what this place pays in electric every month but it must be astronomical...they keep it freezing in here even though it's 100 outside.  I had a jacket on all day yesterday.

Today is my Friday!!!  But there's no rest for me tomorrow.  I will be driving down to Champaign...I have to be on the road by 6:30.  I will then get my drug test (fingers crossed the cocaine doesn't show up...hahaha) then I have to go in for a physical.  I will then go see my "future duplex"...at least I hope it will be.   I will be excited to find where I will be living because it will make it seem more real.  I will be so glad when this is all done and I'm settled. 

Christine-  good luck.  I'm sure it will be a relief to get this all done and over with.

The bedroom painting is done. Everything is back in its place, now, if Hubert and I can agree on a headboard..............
I want metal, he wants wood. I want it 60 inchs high, he wants a low one. I may have to play the trump card and ask whos paycheck is it coming from.

This evening we have a play to go to. It is called the Deozy Connection, a musical, with a play inside the play. I am so glad I was able to ge season tickets. We are really enjoying the plays.

I'm with you Lisa I like those metal ones...the antique looking ones.  I also like a high back because if you have a low back your pillows are always falling between the bed and the wall. 

You can also say..."who ever makes the bed get to choose the bed" hahahaha!!!!

Hello All

I enjoyed my late night swim last night my pool was like 92. at 10pm...this morning already was in the garden and did all my outside stuff early...

ok everyone I am getting my water in for now...no soda and no sweet drinks...Love crystal light but is there any other drinks out there that you enjoy?

were did everyone go for there last meal before WLS?

I have tried that greek yogurt 
I dont mind some but plain is not my kind ooooweee

I did not go anywhere for my last meal as I was on a liquid diet for 2 days prior. I also do not believe in the "last supper" mind set. Just keep this in mind - you will still be able to have your favorite foods PO just less of them . . .

Wally World, Kroger/Food 4 Less, Target, Mejier to name a few all have the tubes to put in water bottles. Kroger has one that is pink grapefruit flavored and is fantastic. The only problem is that our Food 4 Less does not carry that flavor so I get it when I am in IN to visit my sister I will stop at a Kroger while there.

I was such a coke addict but I quit drinking it before surgery and never had a sip since.  I drink lots of Crystal Light at work.  Because it's easy to make and easy to pack the little packets.  I also bring the packets with me when I go out because most of the time the only non-soda drink they have is tea and sometimes I'm not in the mood for tea.  So I just ask for some water and pour in my Crystal Light.  At home I drink mainly Propel.  It can get expensive ($6 for a 12 pack and I drink about 4-6 12 packs every 2 weeks) but it's my big grocery splurge. 

As for my last dinner.  Like Christine said I did realize that I would be able to eat this food after surgery so there wasn't any mourning a loss of food.  But what I did realize was that with the 2 week pre-op diet and the post op diet it would be a long time before I could eat anything.  So I did have a Last lunch and Last dinner.  For lunch I went to Chipotle (funny thing is I eat there every Friday now) and for dinner I ate at Chili's and had the fried chicken.  I don't ever eat at Chilis anymore.  It's such a waste of money.  I do go out once in awhile and take most of my food in doggy bag but I hate reheated food.  So I still feel cheated so I just don't eat out at places like that very often anymore....and I don't miss it one bit. 

 

Sandy, I didn't do a last supper as such. There were a couple of places I wanted to eat at, and I knew I wouldn't be able to eat enought to pay for it after,  and we went to both of them about 6 weeks before hand.
Now, I can't even remember the names of the places.

Crystal Lite, ice tea, lemonaid, flavored waters. I really haven't drank soda in years, so it wasn't a big problem for me.

use Crystal lite in your yogurt to get new flavors.

 Thank you everyone this helps alot and gives me new out look on things with drinking.. I do enjoy crystal lite... but I never thought about propel... I use to drink that alot, I like kiwi-straw-berry
 wow--- I will try the crystal lite in my yogurt .not a tea drinker maybe after this surgery I will be...Soda was easy to stop... I dont miss it but I know I wanted to go out to eat before the clear liquid diet...and enjoy something just not sure on what....maybe golden corral..

Oh yes Golden Corral would be a good choice, because all-you-can-eat buffets will be in your past for sure!!!

My favorite Propel flavors are Kiwi-strawberry and black cherry!!!!  Yummy!!!
