Fast fly by for me until later. The heat is taking a toll on me, I am still tired. I will come around eventually and yes I have stayed hydrated. The cause of my weariness is from a long ago illness . . . but I will not go into that.

At IPD already as I start at 6:30. Need to pour me a coffee shortly and than get crack'n at my work.

What is happening in your corner of IL?

Later gators.

Hello everyone

I am sitting here at work eating breakfast.  I had lots of emails to get to...that always happens.

I am not eating the Greek yogurt for breakfast.  No matter what I tried I hate it....YUCK!!!  I really want to like it but I am such a picky eater.  I tried different brands and different things to make it taste better.  Yogurt...period tastes horrible to me...I don't understand how people can like it.  YUCK!!!!  So back to the drawing board, trying to find a healthy, protein rich breakfast (that isn't eggs).  I also hate oatmeal too.  Is there a flavorless protein powder I can sprinkle on my food???  I don't want a protein drink, I would rather eat.

The heat really isn't bothering me since I'm not outside that much.  I have no yard to tend to and I have a job that requires me to be inside.  So the heat doesn't effect me much...except when getting in and out of my car.  I think about people like construction people that are forced to work outside.  How horrible this weather must be for them.  My dad was in construction and he didn't complain much.  His skin got so dark in the Summer and with his dark hair people would mistake him for being Mexican.  It was kind of funny.  People would just start speaking Spanish to him...hahaha.

Stephen-  good luck with your doctor appointment.  I am sure it will be good news.

Well let's get on with this Monday.  I want Friday to come by quickly!!!  See ya later!

Good Morning,

This week is starting out to be a very sobering one. Tonight we have a wake for a 19 y.o. that decided life wasn't worth living for. Then tomorrow night, we have a wake for a mother and 2 kids. She also decided that life wasn't worth living for, but shot her kids and sat her house on fire befor she killed herself.

we really don't know how very lucky we are with our kids. I can't fanthom what they, the families are going through.

This morning I am going to Ace Hardward to get paint for my edroom. I have most of it taped and the room mostly cleared.

Stay cool, drink lots, stay safe. It is brutal with this heat.

Huggers,

Lisa

Lisa-  sorry about the loss of life.  It's always a sad thing to have someone close to you commit suicide.  I feel like I am almost an expert in this area.  My mother who suffered from bipolar (back then it was called manic depressive) tried to kill herself regularly.  I would say at least 1-2 times a year.  It really causes so much turmoil in the family.

I will keep each family in my prayers.

Good morning Christine and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today and having a very hard time.  It seems I have develpoed some depression.  I an NOT used to feeling like this.  I am usually a very positive person.  Not sure if it the extreme stress from work or something else.  It really sucks.

I will work through it as I always do, it is just good to have a safe place to say it out loud, so to speak.

Chris....good luck with the procedure, I hope it helps.  No one should have to put up with "issues".

Everyone else have a good day and send some positive energy my way if you get a chance.

Dawn-

Maybe you're missing Liv.  What you need to do get more "me" time every day.  Take some time to do something you like to do...like read, watch TV, knit.  Also, try to get some exercise in...the natural endorphins are supposed to help elevate people's moods.

Dawn,

Positive energy coming your way...and some unsolicited advice: You don't have to "work through" depression alone. Have you considered medication or talk therapy? Both could be life-savers.

I believe our bodies are bags of chemicals. Sometimes they get out of whack, especially after WLS or as part of the aging process,  and need some additional chemicals to level them out. Think of a swimming pool. Most of the time, the pH is off and we need to add a little of this and that to get the level just right. Think of depression that way and it might be easier to seek medical help.

As far as talk therapy. Think of the therapist as someone who is always on your side, but helps you "see the forest for the trees" as needed. That might bea nice, safe place to share your feelings. Building a relationship with a therapist can be just the thing you need to get over this hurdle and some of the challenges you're facing.

Take care, sweetie.
