Friday Roll Call
Off to work here in a short while. I do get a break in the day to drive to Wheaton to the Secretary of State Office to pick up Rules of the Road books that were ordered. Nice break to be able to get out of the office. Other than that not much else.

Hello everyone
Happy Friday!!!! This might have been a shorter week but it seemed long.
I have mentioned before that my weight loss has stalled and I can't seem to get that needle moving again. Well A week ago I decided not to focus on the scale but rather how my clothes are fitting and my measurements. So I started to lift weights in the gym longer and harder. I was told that because I was obese and sedentary for so long I have lost muscle mass. My focus should be to build up muscle I have lost over the years from my lifestyle. If I rebuild these muscles I will burn calories more efficiently and thus lose weight. But this process will take time...so I will have to be patient. So I have been spending more time lifting weights and increasing the weight I am lifting. Well I have to tell you I am sore. It's just like when I first started to workout. I also added a one mile walk at lunch. So I am hoping this will get me down to a size 12.
Today, I am working and working out. Afterwards, I will be going to Meijer and Walmart for groceries. Then Chipotle for my Friday dinner.
Inquired about my first apartment yesterday. Well it's a duplex really...no more apartments for me if I can help it. Rent is so much more affordable down there I can afford something nicer now. For $60 more a month I can get a 2 bedroom duplex with a garage and dishwasher and laundry and yard....oh it will be soooo nice.
Ahmer- I feel for you. So far (knock on wood) I have not had an ongoing problem with sleep. I have had sleepless nights here and there...to have that every day would be horrible. I will send you some extra sleep mojo tonight...hahaha
Debbie- I do the same thing with running that you are doing with the swimming. I just add a little more time every week. Eventually I will get to the point where I can run a 5K.

Ahmer I here you on the sleepless nights sometimes I don't sleep even with my mask on for my sleep apnea everyone tells me it will get better I hope so...
today I am going to swim yesterday I picked grean beans in my garden maybe in a few days I will be cutting up fresh green beans for dinner...I see we have lots of green tomato's my husband and Zach eat them like Apples...
The one we got to have with are dinner didnt burn my mouth we don't put anything on are tomato plants all natural...The best in the world...

Based on what i have learned from the main forum, people do end up with sleep cycle disruption after surgery. I have been struggling for nearly 7months now. I am constantly trying to figure out how to get back on track.
I will keep everyone posted when I come up with a solution. :)

I am working, then stopping for a cookie boquet and a few snacks for Liv's "Bon Voyage" party tonight. She is having a few friends over for the evening. She has to get to bed early though because she is working for a cheerleading fundraiser from 8:30 to midnight tomorrow, then we need to be on the road to O'Hare by 9:45 on Sunday. VERY, VERY Exciting!
Now......all I have to do is get her on the plane on safely to NC. Once she is there and safe, I will feel 100%.
Crystal----I want to both run and lift weights. I guess I need to just MAKE the time and the $$ to do it. I have been asking my son and husband for help teaching me the correct way to lift free weights (which we have already) but they do not seem to have the time. I know NOTHING and I don't want to injure myself. Maybe when my husband sees that it costs $$, he will be more helpful......or not. I AM worth it.....right? I keep trying to tell myself that anyway........
Amber and the kids are coming out tomorrow to hang out and cook out. We will be doing pedicures on the porch, one of our favorite activities!

Well I did it!! I swam 1/2 miles today. The pool is 25meters. So my hubby calculated that I would need to do 16laps to get to a mile. I DID IT!! Today I was actually only suppose to do 13 laps ( I had been increasing 1 lap a day) but I just figured, why not, just do 16. I thought I would be dragging in the end, but I was fine! I will stay at the 1/2 mile mark for awhile to build up stamina and speed. Once I am able to do more without stopping I will start building up to 1 mile. I typically swim after my love hate relationship with the stair-master and a few other exercises. I try to spend an hour working out before I do the pool. Have to figure out how to continue all this when school starts. I am NOT a morning person but the most sensible thing would be to go at 5am. YUCK!! After school, it would be late when I finish working out, then to have to cook dinner etc. Plus I am hoping to continue riding my bike until the weather forces me into the car.
Ok, enough of that. So how many of you are going to see Harry Potter next weekend? I am taking my kids to the midnight showing next Thursday or Friday morning depending on your version of time! I have taken my kids to a first day showing for every movie. My son was in 1st grade for The Sorcerer's Stone. He is going into 11th grade this fall. I can't believe it has been 10yrs of these movies. WOW. I wish I had that talent for writing. That has always been a dream of mine. To write children's books. Who knows, maybe I will one day.
