Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

Wanting to stay in bed seems to be a theme today, as I was the same.

I am working today and getting very excited for Liv.  She leaves on Sunday for the BIG TRIP!!!!!  Things like this remind me of why I work so hard for a place I dislike so much.......so my kids can have these AWESOME opportunities.

I am taking her after work to get new glassesa so she can see everything clearly!  I wish I could go with her, but even WE can't work hard enough to afford that!

Thanks for the reminder Chris abou****ering the plants......mine will need it too, I am sure.

Ahmed---crushing the meds and vitamins will help, as will letting any capsules get softened up a bit before swallowing.  Caffiene also interferes with absorption, I am told.  So good for you getting away from it.

Besides all that, same ol', same ol'

Everyone have a lovely day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good afternoon to all my Illinois friends,
As of today I have one week left in Tucson.  I am both happy and sad.  It sure has been nice not to have to worry about the same old stuff day in and day out, no fighting kids, no messes to clean, no hubby to complain that dinner is not ready; yet, I am missing my family.  Oh well.
Tucson is full into their monsoon season.  Daily around 4:30 the sky gets very dark and for about 30-40 minutes we have some strong winds and storms.  Of course the time depends on where you are in Tucson.  This town is huge in landmass.  Not sure if this was national news but I guess in Phoenix yesterday, there was a dust cloud that was 50miles wide go through!  Can you imagine?  People were pulled over on the roads for over an hour as this storm traveled.
Today, I went to the gym and figured out the amount of swimming I do.  I swim after all my dry work out.  I am up to 1/3mile.  The pool is 25meters.  I am doing 11laps right now.  Everyday I increase my laps by one, so I should be at 1/2 mile next week! That is my first swim goal!  I sure hope I see the scale move soon.
Female question time!  Did anyone notice a change in their menstruation cycle once they lost the majority of their weight?  I am enjoying a 2nd cycle this month.  My dr, said it could be due to the weight loss OR my age.  Of course is I will not admit to the age.
On a positive note, I bought a new skort in a size 14!  I have not been in a 14 in almost 18yrs!!  WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!
Take care all!
Debbie

May I ask how old you are? I went through menopause a little earlier than some. I was following my mom who went through her's at 42. My other sisters went into theirs post 50 YOA.

I had already gone through menopause before I had my RNY so I cannot answer the WL part of the question but I can answer about being perimenopausal - I started going through the whole thing at about 45 YOA. I had many changes including being very irregular, then loosing the tenderness in the breasts and cramps then I became very regular to 28 days, then 21 days (I never was regular in my life), I also lost the tenderness and cramps completely, then my cycle started getting longer and longer and longer apart until they were nonexistant after a year.

I saw a video on the dust cloud!  It was simply amazing.  I can't imagine having that thing pass overhead!  Frightening as well.  I am sure you are looking forward to coming home!

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well I have to agree, it was a day for sleeping in.  The big difference is that I did!    I don't know how I will ever go back to working full time.   I am liking this life of mine.

Christine, glad the skeeters are calming down by you.  It is terrible to get eaten alive when all you want to do is water your plants.

Crystal, Have you put in your notice at work yet?  I am curious as to what they will say.  It is neat to be able to "start over" in a new life and a new place!

Lisa, I hear you about doctor's offices.  I think they hire people *****fuse to listen.  Yesterday I went around in circles trying to get Beemer scheduled for surgery.  They wanted me to bring him in on a Monday morning but cut him off of food and water at 8 pm the night before.  That is impossible with 4 other cats.  I want to bring him in and board him overnight before surgery.  THEY can listen to him cry for food.

Sandy, swimming and gardening sound delightful, but you can keep the house cleaning.  If you ever want to do more, there is this house in LaSalle .....

Debbie, it sounds like you are starting to kick butt in the swimming division!  Good going!  You are doing well.  Keep it up!  A size 14 -- woo hoo!

Ahmer, good luck finding the right equation for getting sleep.  I hope you have luck with crushing meds.  Mine always tasted awful!

Jules, good luck on your garage sale!  I am gathering up stuff to have one as well.  I hate the prepping part.  One year I used color coded stickers to indicate prices.  Orange stickers were 50 cents, green 25 cents red $1.00 etc.  Sure saved time.

Vickie, I am glad the new diet is going well for you.  Time is going to fly from here on out!

Dawn, I am so happy for Liv.  It is always great to see kids have the opportunity to participate in wonderful events.  She will never forget this and someday MAY even thank you!

Thanks Nancy!
I am really happy for her and she is getting SO excited, which is also great to see.

I keep teasing her that I am doing this all for selfish reasons.........when she is a famous (or not) Marine Biologist and lives on the coast of Australia........Daddy and I will come live with HER!
