12 and 14 that's a hard time to move for a kid.  I know I wouldn't have liked it.  My advice would be to be understanding of any out of character behavior.  Of course I wouldn't let them be disrespectful to me either.  I guess it's easier with girls because they just come right out and show their feelings.  When Amanda was 11 and we moved (due to divoce).  She was upset and we talked about it.  I promised her it was going to be the last time I ever move her (bar any unforseen cir****tances).  I kept my promise.  She adjusted well and made some great lifelong friends and great memories.  I was patient with her and made myself more available to hang out with her before she made friends (I didn't want her to be lonely).  We would have boardgame nights or movie nights.  We would camp out in the living room and toast marshmellows.  I just made things more fun.  After she made friends it was all fine and great.

I might be moving too but at least I am only moving 150 miles and not cross country.  But I still feel a little overwhelmed because of timing I won't have any help from my daughter and fiance.  I would have normally rented a Uhaul and the three of us would move my stuff.  I am thinking now I will hire movers.

Been up for a few hours lounging and watching TV, having b-fast and puttering around the house. According to the weather service we are supposed to get a peak at the sun later this afternoon. So, until that time I am a welcome captive in the house. I do not want to go out because the skeeters are in attack mode in my yard. I cannot remember a year in the past where we have had the little attackers before July 4th.

We still have fog here and hopefully it will lift a little later. In the meantime the house is beckoning me . . . later gators! I am going to go  (zap) my housework. good!

Christine, no fog here, but it is damp. I need to get out and pour some poison on some weeds. But, not sure if today will be a good time or not. Will wait and see if we get anymore rain.

When do you go to the Dells?  The new Dunkin is open!

Father's Day morning. The second location from what I can see on the map is clear out and NW of the interstate. Shucks it is not within walking distance from downtown Dells. Your first location actually is in Lake Delton and it is about 1/4 of a mile from Noah's Ark.

Lisa,

Will you do the re-staining yourself or hire someone?  Are you thinking to go very different color or somewhat the same?  That could really change the look of your house!

Jules, Right now it is Acavodo Green, I think that dates it somewhere in the mid 70's. I am leaning to a dark gray or a grayish blue. At this time, we will do it ourselves, but then, he might decide to side it, so that would be a whole other ballgame.
