Friday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Three cheers for Friday!!! Hip-hip HOORAY!!!
Yes it will be a really warm day but you wouldn't know it from where I sit. I am stuck in the office all day today and this place is kept as cold as a meat locker. I usually end up with my jacket on.
My weight loss is soooo slowing down. I don't know what else to do to get it going again. I only lost a pound. Well I will be exercising even more I guess.
Tonight after work and working out I will be stopping at Meijer to pick up a few things and then home. Tomorrow I have the cable people coming to install my cable. I think I will go for a long jog. No big plans this weekend. I might scan the papers for a good garage sale. There might someone some where trying to get rid of some size 14's.
Well I will try to enjoy the warmth of the day...while locked up in this office. Have a good day. Bye!!

Looks like its today theme :P I have no big plans today.
I have decided to go change my cardio schedule. Instead of doing 1000 calories daily. I will alternate the days. So one day I will only do 500 calories the next day 1000 and so on. I am doing this so my body doesnt burn out. Mentally I a psyched to do over 1000 but I gotta listen to my body too !
I have a big weekend (a rare thing) coming ahead. I am going on a hike at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville, IL. Not to far from where I live. Then there is a good chance my sister, my brother in law and myself will end up at Starved Rock State Park. I have alwasy wanted to go there and I just might get my wish this weekend. So, I will be getting plenty of sunshine for sure.

You will love Starved Rock State Park. There are oads of hiking trails, the lodge has a vervanda where you can get great sandwiches, or inside dining with a great menu. Make sure if you go that you hike to the top of the rock. There is also a small town called Utica, which is really neat, across the river from the Rock. You can also visit the Locks on the Illinois.
We usually go over there a few times during the summer, we live about 25 miles from it.

Awesome !! Thanks a lot for your tips. I am definitely intend to go on top of the rock, especially now since you have mentioned it ! I have heard of Utica before. I am gonna google it to find out more about it and perhaps swing by ! The plan to visit state rock is not finaly yet ... but I sure as heck trying to convince my sister and her hubby to come along !

That is just 6 miles from me! I love it there. But it can get very crowded on weekends. I also love Matthesion State Park which is on Rt 178 and is just 2 miles south of Starved Rock State Park. It is less crowded, has very nicely groomed trailes, lots of dell areas and waterfalls as well and LESS people! Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Nancy for the information. I am gonna try to convince my gang to go to matthesion state park out instead. If we dont head out to matthesion on SUN, I certainly will go there this summer for sure. I finally have the energy to get out and enjoy the things I have always wanted to do. Hiking !!

It has been so long since I have been here, for that I am sorry. I need to make time for a daily check in.
Well, it is here, SUMMER VACATION!!! Yesterday was the last day of school for me. All went well. The students left at 11:30 am and we the staff, were able to leave at 1:50pm. We ended up going to an outdoor bar and grill up the road, Jessie Oaks. I had one drink and boy did I feel it. I sat outside from 2 - about 5. My son and his friends ended up meeting me there, to get some free food. Gotta love teen boys. The funnies thing about yesterday, I ended up with a humdinger of a sun burn on my nose. I look like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!!
Tonight, I am taking my daughter to Chicago to see the cast of Glee. Talk about an excited 13yr old. I must admit I too and excited. I love the music.
Tomorrow my hubby, daughter and I will be spending the day at Pearl Lake. My hubby is doing some scuba diving event and my daughter and I will be soaking up the sun and swimming. This should be fun. I bought some SPF 50 for my very white skin. That hopefully will keep the burn away.
Everyone stay hydrated. It is too funny how here in the mid-west we can completely skip seasons. I swear it still felt like winter last week, now we are hot! Love it!

If you can take plain old aspirin such as Bayer, it will prevent sunburn! It sounds crazy but it works. Take it as directed -- 2 every 4 hours and no sunburn! I use it all the time when I am out boating otherwise I get a heck of a burn because I have really fair skin. The company knows it works but cannot advertise it for this purpose. I share the info with everyone I know!
