Hello everyone

Well it's the weekend....ahhhh.  I am relaxing and eating breakfast.  I will be going out for a jog and get that over with early.  I have to be home from 8-12 for my cable installation.  They didn't show up for my last appointment, because the whereabouts of my apartment seems to be a huge mystery to them.  Then I have a couple of errands to run, some house cleaning and laundry and that's it for my day.

Yesterday I exercised my butt off.  I pushed myself to run longer than I ever have.  Nothing like a plateau to push you.  I do have some soreness in my hips today but nothing major.  I also hit the weights harder than I usually do.  I'm feeling good though.  Maybe I will feel it tomorrow (because of DOMS...I hate DOMS).  I will hit 199 if it kills me.  I am not going to come this far and not feel the greatness of the 100's.

What are your plans for the weekend?  Have a great day.  Bye.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
Last night was amazing! That Glee cast can truely sing! My daughter was in 7th heaven. The concert lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. The worse part of it all was driving home. The traffic was terrible. Such rude drivers out there!
Today we are off to Pearl Lake! Should bea fun day! Taking Spf 50 with me!
Take care!

 Happy Saturday,

My plans today are mimimal,  I am doing some laundry, finish cleaning a bedroom and make dinner. And if it doesn't rain, maybe get out and get some sun.

Other ther that, it will be a quiet day.

Stay safe.

Greetings and salutations my friends !

Checked the weather and much to my dismay, there are t-storms forecasted for much of the afternoon. I dont have any rain gear so I had to cancelled the hike I was gonna go on today.

Things are still looking up for starved rock tomorrow. Lets see how it pans out.

cmagouirk .. this is just a suggestion. Apply the same principle to cardio that you are doing with weights. In other words, instead of working longer ... work shorter but with higher intensity. I think that will help you better with the plateau.

debbie I am happy to hear that you guys had a great time. You mentioned that you go to school. I always love to hear of people being in school ! What are you going to school for ? How far out you ?

I will be starting a Networking major hopefully this winter !

Amher

I am interval training so when I say I am running longer....I don't mean my over all workout is longer....the run time is longer (although yesterday I worked out longer because I wanted to make an even 5 miles).  When I first started to do intervals I could only do 1 minute of running and 5 minutes of walking.  I now run 7-9 minutes and walk 2-3 minutes.  So in the same time frame I am burning more calories because I am doing more running and less walking.  I think that's why my hips are a little sore because I ran for 14 minutes and walked for 2 minutes.  I was sweating like a pig but it felt good.  One of these days I will be running like the wind!!!!

You'll love Starved Rock.  If you have time go over to Matthisen Park and walk the upper dell's area.  Lots of waterfalls!

My goal for the summer is to be able to climb to the top of the rock with huffin and puffin.  We were there about 1 month ago and we climbed to the top and it wasn't so bad.

Ahmer,
I am in school I am a special education teacher! I have a MaEd and who knows maybe a second masters one day or even a Phd.
As for summer, I get just as excited as students do, even though I will work some next week!
Good luck in your studies!

Hello Everyone.

Scott and I went down to the farmers market and walked around.  We got breakfast there and sat and enjoyed the atmosphere.  We also picked up some purple aspargus for dinner tonight.

Cleaning the carpet in the dinning room today and going to try to talk Scott into going swimming.

Have a great day!

 Howdy Everyone!

That is my tribute to the late James Arness who died yesterday.  I love the program Gunsmoke!  He WAS Matt Dillon!

Today the cleaning/decluttering continues.  I am tackling my bedroom.  Little by little I am getting there.

It is going to be a hot day today so inside projects are best!

Crystal, you go girl!  Love that determination!  Debbie, last night sounds like it was really great!  Have fun today!  Lisa, I saw that you got off to an early start today.  You are always so ambitious!
Monica, I hope you get your swimming in.

Ahmer, you are right, the forecast is for rain and 90's today.  Tomorrow it is only in the 80's -- much better.  One word of caution -- Be careful and DO NOT leave the trails!  We have many Chicago area visitors killed or hospitalized each summer due to straying away from the trails.  There are steep ledges that drop straight down and no barriers!

Everyone have a fun filled, cool day and drink tha****er!
