Wednesday Roll Call
Good morning everyone,
Yes, its looks like its going to be a nice day. I will be in a office looking out at the world. I woke up this morning being really tight with my band. I really don't like to be tigh****er and tea is going down but slowly. If it does not get better I will call my doctor. I live 2 hrs away from his office. Thats the only thing I don't like about living so far away from the big city. There is a doctor here near me but my insurance does not cover him and he is only in Rockford on Mondays.
I started my "dance off the pounds" class and "tighten and tone" class yesterday. So its back to the gym for me. Thats a good thing
Have a great day everyone

Good Morning,
Today is the 1st of June! It was a long winter, and an even longer spring. Hopefully, summer will last a long time. Remember, when we were kids, the summers seemed to go on forever? Now, it seems we blink once and its gone.
My plan for today is to clean the bedroom carpet. I noticed the other night something blue on the carpet. I have no idea how it got there, and of course, no one else does either. It just appeared to bother me![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/daydreaming.gif)
If i have time later, I need to plant some bulbs.
This evening I am taking Morgan to a Jobs Daughters meeting in Ottawa. I need to stop at Walmart too.
One of the main reasons I took the job I have, was because we didn't work summers. At the time, we were running food units for the summer at fairs and such. But yes, I do enjoy my summers off, even if
the unemployment sucks. I couldn't do it if I needed a full time job. We don't get benefits either, since we are classified as part time.
I hope everyone is doing good. Get out and enjoy the sun. Stay safe.
Hugs, LISA

Hello everyone
I am sitting here at work not wanting to work...but then again I never WANT to work.
After listening to the book Memoirs Of A Geisha it made me want to learn more about Geisha. So I bought a book about Geisha...a non-fiction book...not a somewhat fictional book. I also checked a book out at the library too. So I started it last night. Right now I am listening to Brave New World. Amanda has been wanting me to read this book forever...so now I'm listening to it. If you've never read that book, it reminds me of the book 1984 or The Giver (one of my favorite books ever). A one world government that controls everything (including what you think and how you feel). It's a scary thought.
I wore a pedometer yesterday because they say you should walk 10,000 steps a day. I always wondered how I measure up to that standard. Well I my first day I walked around 15,000 steps...that includes my workout. So I blew that away. Maybe this is a question for the exercise board. When working out, I can run longer if I decrease the MPH. Do you think it's better to run slower and longer OR faster and shorter??? That is my quandary for the day...hmmmm.
Lisa- I am soooo jealous. I would love a job like that. But I need benefits, like medical coverage. Unless, I sign up for Medicare!!! How did you get a job like that. I always figured you have to know someone to get a job like that.
Sherry- One day of tightness shouldn't be alarming enough to go to the doctor...unless water and saliva won't go down either. For me it's normal to have days where I am a little tighter than other days (especially in the morning). You might get better as the day goes on. If I were you I would go to mushies today and see how you feel tomorrow. You could have just aggravated your stoma and it's a little swollen.
I hope everyone has a great day. See ya later...bye.

Crystal,
I did know someone who was on the board of directors at the time. But, I am the one who interviewed for it, and my background in marketing and research got me the job. It was only supose to be 15 hours a weeks, now its more like 30.

It all depends on what your goal is. If you want to burn more fat calories then slower and longer is your goal. If you want to work your heart and make its muscles stronger that faster and shorter is your thing. You can end up burning the same number of calories by the slow and longer and faster and shorter....however the amount of fat calories burned will vary between the two approaches.
In my opinion, the best thing is to vary your workout. Start off slow for about 20 mins. Then sharply increase your resistance and speed for 10 mins. Then go way back down to slow . Keep alternating every 10 mins. This will maximize your fat burn while buiding a stronger heart.
This is know as interval training. There are many ways to go about it so may find other variations of this out there.
Yeah I would love to have a window seat myself. I work out a windowless conference room made into an office for about 6 people. Pretty tight quarters. Lets hope none of gets sick . Sherry, I admire you for joining those aerobic classes. I can never do those. I am so self conscious and cant get over the feeling stupid when following the class leader. I would just be a dancing mess :(
I am resting right now. I woke up at 5am with the intention of working out. But my exhaustion level told me I would not have a meaningful workout if I went. I will most likely hit the gym after work.

This is how I workout. :
30 mins slow burn on cross trainer (average fat calories burned)
30 mins fast on a high incline and high resistance on elliptical (heart muscles stregthened)
60 mins interval on elliptical (maximum fat burn)
I also do a minimal set of weights. My muscles are very weak so I excercise my arms and legs to get some basic strength. Once that is done I will start focusing on specific muscle groups.
okie dokie... see ya all later.
