Hello everyone

I am enjoying my wonderful Saturday.  I am sitting here eating breakfast and watching Law & Order...like always.

I am going to JCPenney (I didn't go yesterday) and then Walgreens.  Then I will be working out.

Yesterday I enjoyed my treats.  I worked out extra hard yesterday probably because I felt guilty for eating yummy treats.  On top of my normal workout I also did the elliptical.  I haven't done the elliptical before.  It was a good workout.  I did 20 minutes and my legs were sore the rest of the night.  I am tempted to drive to work today to workout on the elliptical again.  I just have to decide if I want to use up the gas.  Sad but when gas is this expensive...it does matter.

Dawn-  what a relief it is that your son graduated.  So what are his post-graduation plans?  Is he going to college?  Does he know what kind of career he may want?  My daughter is more like your Liv.  You know I still don't know what I want to do when I grown up...hahahaha!!!!

Well I know it's supposed to storm today but at least it will be warm.  I will enjoy airing out the house a bit.  I hope you all have a great Saturday.  Bye

What gym do you go to ? We live not too far from each other .  I have Ballys and Planet Fitness.

As for the elliptical.. I think its the BEST cardio machine ! It easy on your joints when compared to the pounding on the treadmill. 20 mins is great. I started at 15 mins and have worked my way up to 45-60 mins. I always drink a 20oz bottle of powerade zero after my workout. It does refresh you more than jus****er alone. Once I am done with the powerade bottle I drink my spring water.

I am fortunate that I have a job that provides a gym for us (well the building does) free of charge.  It's nothing fancy but it's got nice new equipment so I won't complain.  I have a great group of friends from work and we work out together.  I seem to be the most commited because I go more often than the others...yesterday I had the whole gym to myself...hahaha

What I do is 60 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight lifting.  I workout 6 days a week (but on Saturday I just go running...especially if it's nice out).  I decided to try the elliptical yesterday for the first time and I did like it.  It worked my legs out really good.  But I will be sticking to the treadmill as my main cardio because I am trying to work my way up to running a 5K one day....who knows maybe even a 10K!!!  But I think I will do 20 minutes of elliptical and 40 minutes of treadmill.  It's good to mix things up every once in awhile.

I eat 3 apple slices with a tbs of peanut butter about 40 minutes before I work out.  I also drink alot of water before, during and after my workout.  I sweat like a pig so I need to replenish those fluids.  I also added a protein drink after my workout.  You should have protein within an hour after your workout to help rebuild your muscles.  I do Muscle Milk Lite.

thanks for the protein tip. I will start incorporating protein before and after my workouts, especially since I will be incorporating weights now. Always heard about the benefits but never quite got around to doing that :)

 Good Morning,

Yeppers, it is suppose to rain all day, but, it is suppose to be around 80. That's the way it looks all of next week too. Lets get this rain out of the way, so we can have a nice June.

Yesterday, was a usual Friday. Clean and run errands.Today, I need to clean out the refrigerator and clean the bathrooms. I also would like to finish a rug, but not sure if I would have time to do it.  There is also a farmers market in Ottawa that I should go to. Now I will see what does get done.

I haven't been walking this week. My knee is acting up. I go for a shot on Wed.

Dawn, I am so happy that David did his job. What are his plans  now?

Nancy, good for you to go for hearing aids. You probaly don't even realize what you have been missing. With my total deafness in my right ear,  I know the frustration of not being able to hear everything. Plus, a bit of loss in the left one as well.

Steven, do you have any family, what do you like to do? What tpye of work do you do?

Stay safe today,

Hugs,
LISA

Good Morning OH,

Yep.. another dreary day in Chicago wonderland  .

Spent a lovely day in downtown Chicago yesterday. I only go out that way 3-4 times a year.  So it was a mini treat.

Will head out the gym and work my tushi off. I have to get into a ab flattening routine. My tummy is sagging from all the weight loss.

Not much else going on in my corner.

Hope everyone has a woderful Saturday

Ahmer, how much have you lost? FYI....... Tummy sasgging is a good thing, it shows how far you have come. Think tummy tuck.

i have lost 65 pounds so far. I am really trying to avoid a tummy tuck and hoping that excercising will help tighten up the skin so I dont have to go that route.

If i do end up with surgery .. its gonna be abdominoplasyt and it runs 7-10 grand :S

Sorry to be the bearer of the following: the saggy skin issue all depends on genetics, age, how long you were obese and how many #s you were overweight. I lost just over 100# and needed 2 lower body lifts. My DH lost 180#+ and had two lower body lifts also and he really needs a tweek to the last surgery. Once the elasticity is gone from your skin no matter how much you excercise it will not tighten up. It was explained to me in the following manner - think of your skin as a rubber band and you have it stretched to its limits for an extended period of time. When you release that stretch it does not go back to the original size - it stays that stretched size. . .
