Saturday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I got up very early today....don't ask me why.  I am hoping maybe there's a chance I can go back to sleep.

I didn't get everything done yesterday.  I went to Goodwill with a friend.  I am always trying to get people to give it a try.  A lot of people hear thrift store and think "yuck".  So I spent a lot of time at Goodwill, more than I thought I would.  So I didn't have time to everything.  So today I will be going to Kohl's, Old Navy, Meijer, Walgreen's and pick up flowers for my planters.  I am also going to drive by this place that is supposed to be a wholesale organic place.  I want to see if it's open to the public.  I am thinking this year I will be hitting lots of garage sales.

A lady at work that is losing weight too gave me lots of clothes.  Specifically capris...I have tons of capris now!!!  I love them and they fit me...for now.  She shops at nice places too like- Coldwater Creek, Anne Taylor...I feel ritzy...hahaha.

Well whats your weekend look like???  Have a great day

Good morning all,
I have been missing most of this week - oops!  I have been busy with end of the yr paperwork so school is a bit crazy.  I have 13 days till summer vacation!  I feel/sound like a little kid!
My weight loss is going slow, but I am sure that has something to do with my eating.  I have been stressing and I find myself snacking AGAIN!!  Especially at night!!  I need to stop this.  I wanted to loss 100lbs before June 8th and now I am not sure if I will make it.  I need to loss 12 more lbs by then.
This week I was able to ride to work 2 days, darn weather.  I did break down and buy some bike shorts last night.  I want to get out later this am and try riding.  Hopefully the extra padded part will not hurt as much!!
A co-worker asked me to do the Danskin mini Triathlon in August.  I think I will do it.  It is a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride and a 5k.  I already ride 11 miles a day (when I ride with a 6hr break at 5.5 miles).  However, I think I will be able to train for it and do ok.  Not looking for first place but just to finish.  Who would of thought that I, who once weighed in over 300lbs,  would be even contemplating a triathlon!!  Not I!!
Well, I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I was up early because the kids were being a bit loud.  Both of them had friends overnight.  so, I got up and made them some breakfast before the boys head out to the "Day of Rock" concert at the Speedway.  I went to do the dishes and the water was not getting hot.  then I remembered that we had a power outage last night.  CRAP!!!!  Everytime the power goes out, my gas water heater's pilot goes out.  David forgot to light it last night and now I have to wait for it to heat up so I can shower.  Ugg!

I need to get to the store and get my house cleaned up.  Tomorrow is David's birthday and I think we will have a small gathering in the afternoon.  He is going out for dinner with his girlfriend tomorrow night.  Not sure what all is happening tonight.

Debbie----that is GREAT about the triathalon!  I'm sure you can do it!  Sounds like a great goal.

I have been walking each day at lunch and throwing in some running while I am at it.  I want to get my bike out and ride also.

Everyone have a great day!

am getting more and more active . With that goes a bit of loss of routine.  I sometimes forget to take my morning meds and I am also getting tired of drinking protein.  Do any of you know of a protein wafer that fits our needs?

 Randy,

I never found a protein wafer or bar that did anything for me however, I do love my protein ice cream.  It contains as much protien as the shakes. It is easy to make.

In a blender container add:

3 scoops protein powder (I use vanilla)
Fill the blender with mil****il you reach the 3 cup or a little over line.  (I use vanilla soy milk)
Add sugar free syrup as desired ( I use raspberry or vanilla Divincci)
Add 12 frozen strawberries to make the mixture super cold.

Blend until smooth.  Pour into an ice cream freezer and process according to manufacturers directions about 20 - 30 minutes.  Fill zip lock bowl with about a/2 c. frozen or fresh chopped fruit such as strawberries, bananas, peaches, blueberries, raspberries)  Pour in ice cream mixture.  Stir to blend in fruit.  Top with lids.  Store in freezer.  To serve, zap container about 30 seconds and enjoy!

There are soy chips you can get. They are like a potato chip and I think they have somewhere around 7gms for each serving. http://www.genisoy.com/products/snacks/soy-crisps/

Try Edamine, soy beans in the shell like peas. You can buy them fresh or frozen. They take you a while to eat and are packed with protein. Try Greek yogurt. It is loaded with protein and is very filling.

PS-I bought the soy chips at Jewel.

I will look into the chips but what I am remembering is disk about one inch thick and and an inch in diameter that were marketed to our high school football team for building muscle that tasted likie a vanilla malt.  Since I was on a diet of mainly beef that I raised and garden vegetables that I reluctantly raised at the time I only had a sample but I am fairly sure whey protein must be avalable in that form that would not gum up in your mouth like a spoonful of most pwders would.

Dawn-  interval training, walking with spurts of running...is some of the best exercise.  I do that.  What I do is as I am able to I increase the run time and decrease the walk time (hoping that eventually I will be running the whole time).  Keep up the good work.

I hope David has a great Birthday today.
