Tuesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

It's another boring Tuesday.  I just got done decorating a friend's cubicle...she turns 65 today!!!  She has a sad story...her husband of 30+ years died last year around this time.  He had a stroke and was found wandering around Aurora confused.  Well after a week or so in the hospital they transferred him to a rehab facility where he had another more massive stroke and died.  So this year for her birthday we are making it extra special with lots of treat and friends...to try to keep her mind of the her pain.  She was supposed to retire and now she can't.

I went to Meijer and I found the cutest cupcakes arranged in a shape of a big flower.  So I got those for her and balloons and confetti.  If it doesn't cheer her up I figure she will at least know she's loved.  Oh and I fully intend on having one of those yummy cupcakes!!!!

Last night I had a head ache and went to bed before it could turn into a migraine.  When I see my PCP next week I will talk to him about Relpax (the meds Nancy says she takes).  Speaking of Nancy I hope she is recovering well.  I am assuming it takes a long time to be up and about after back surgery.

Debbie- good for you riding your bike all the way to work.  That is no easy feat...especially when your unconditioned and over weight.  I know that's what I tell myself when I get down on myself about running.  I just tell myself "hey you need to take baby steps...I'm not 120 lbs!!!"  Not to mention people like us that go running or biking are less likely to regain their weight!!!  So yeah us!!!

Well better get going and start my boring work day...YAWN!!!  Have a good day...bye

Good Morning,

It is a great sunny day, and tomorrow is suppose to be even nicer. It is to bad I will be stuck in an office each day, but its better then rain and gloom.

I need to go get mulch for my bushes today. I will do that after work.

I do hope we hear from Nancy today.

Christine, how is Dave doing?

Hubert said he will rebuild my rug loom when he gets home tonight. I have lost some guides for it and the sides are pulling in a bit on the rugs. I just hope he remembers to do it.

I am out the door.

Hugs,
LISA

Good Morning!

Almost to Wednesday which is the middle of the week which means Friday is almost here!

I have enjoyed my journey and the weight loss and being able to do things easier than I have in a very long time.  What I am not enjoying is the whole clothes thing.  I knew that with RNY you lose weight quickly. I don't think I was mentally prepared for how fast you lose it.  I am almost dreading going to the closet in the morning to try to find something to wear (is this backwards or what-had this same problem last year at this time).    I have to try to get to Goodwill or some of the other thirft stores this weekend.  There is a really good Goodwill in Pekin which is about 40 miles from here.  The one in my town is small, cramped and smells.  Maybe doing the road trip this weekend.

Looks like a beautiful day today.  Thankfully I have huge windows I sit by at work and can at least enjoy the sunshine that way.

Oh go to the Goodwill.  The one by my house is fully stocked and I always find stuff.  Pants are usually about $3.99!!!  Everything is arranged by color then by size.  So if you need a pair of black slacks...you go to the black section and find your size...easy.  I know what you mean about clothes.  I have almost no Summer clothes and my Winter clothes are dwindling down.  It's fun shopping and wearing the clothes but it's stressful trying to afford it all.  And I know what I buy now probably won't fit by the end of the Summer!!!  Ughhh...It's a good thing I know but expensive.  I am thinking I will be hitting some garage sales this year.

Morning everyone. See the separate post regarding Dave and what transpired.

I took today off and am happy that I did because I am very tired today. Dave thinks that he will drive with me to Target to get his prescription for pain. He does really good on Hydrocodone (sp?) which we have in the house for his knee. That is what the script is for also.

I will come home and chill later on. There is plenty of frozen food here in the house for us to consume.

So I've been posting the last few months about pain, nausea, vomiting, and such.  They did finally do the CT scan- it was clear.  So the surgeon decided that I didn't need surgery to look for a hernia- not even exploratory surgery.  He decided NOW I needed to have an endoscopy done of my stomach to look for ulcers.  When I had the GI scope done (where they make you drink barium and follow it down through your digestive tract with the xray machines and such) they did note "narrowing of the stomach".  The surgeon said he didn't think that would cause any of my symptoms and dismissed it.  I had my endoscopy yesterday and it was clear but he said he stretched out my stomach where it was narrowing and that I would need to go in several more times to have it done again because it would not stay stretched.

I am not finding a whole lot of information on stomach narrowing or the treatment of stomach stretching so I am a little cranky today.  I have to admit that it hurts less to eat now and digestion hurts much less as well.  Any relief is welcome but I still don't know how I feel about having my stomach stretched.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hello

I believe what you are talking about is a stricture.  I don't know much about this problem so you might want to ask on the gastric bypass board.  I have read posts about strictures.  I hope this procedure helps and you feel better.  I had an issue with my band once and it's miserable.  So I can relate on that level.  Good luck

I don't know how asking on the RNY board would help- I didn't have an RNY.  And when you have an RNY you don't use your pyloric valve.

But I did post on the DS board and I guess narrowing of the pylorus is a rare complication and dilation is an appropriate treatment so at least there is that.  I suppose a stricture is possible but from the information I have from the doctor and lab reports, it seems to be an issue directly relating to narrowing in the pylorus.

I have had much better success eating and digesting since the procedure though so I am hopeful that this might work!

That's what I get for not paying attention.  I thought you had an RNY
